Brooke Shields In Zac Posen – 2018 Met Gala

Brooke Shields was also at the 2018 Met Gala on Monday (May 7) in New York City.

Her custom Zac Posen midnight-blue ballgown fit her like a glove.

There would be no denying its inherent elegance, especially when styled with the pebbled diamond jewels.

It was a study in classic refinement. I just couldn’t find much of this year’s theme here.

Ariana Grande In Vera Wang – 2018 Met Gala

Ariana Grande posed up a storm at the 2018 Met Gala on Monday (May 7) in New York City. She joined Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez and Deepika Padukone.

She went in a different direction than other attendees, experimenting with religious iconography in a custom Vera Wang gown. Part of the appeal of the style was that it looked like a watercolour pattern from far away. Once the eye adjusted, it became clear the print was of Michelangelo’s ‘The Last Judgement’ from the Sistine Chapel.

Butani jewels and a whimsical hair bow topped off the detailed design.

Anne Hathaway In Valentino Couture – 2018 Met Gala

In iconic Valentino red, Anne Hathaway made for a striking statement at the 2018 Met Gala on Monday (May 7) in New York City.

It’s been a few years since the ‘Ocean’s 8’ actress has been at the gala, and she presented a ravishing re-entrance in this Valentino Spring 2018 Couture ruffled ballgown.

With the starburst halo-crown to complete the voluminous affair, she did look nothing short of divine.

Would you agree?

Jennifer Lopez In Balmain – 2018 Met Gala

Jennifer Lopez struck a power pose at the 2018 Met Gala on Monday (May 7) in New York City.

Joining the Balmain army in this cross-embellished gown, she rocked the night’s religious theme—with an unorthodox, super-heroine edge.

Yet, she stayed true to everything we’d expect in a J. Lo look—sexy, strong, and slit to there.

A Jimmy Choo clutch and heels along with Tiffany & Co. jewels complemented the look perfectly without competing for attention.

I love how she kept her hair short and sleek for a modern finish.

Evan Rachel Wood In Altuzarra – 2018 Met Gala

Evan Rachel Wood glistened at the 2018 Met Gala on Monday (May 7) in New York City, joining Rihanna, Dakota Fanning and Princess Beatrice.

The ‘Westworld’ actress was clad in Altuzarra from head to toe. The counterpoint of the black under-layer against the gilded opulence of the golden topper is most striking. Some might take issue with the heavy effect the layering presents but it’s part of what makes it so striking. Plus, the bare arms and open neck provide just enough relief.

No headpiece or dramatic makeup were necessary. In fact, the minimal beauty look actually enhances the ethereal nature of the ensemble.

Saint Laurent @ 2018 Met Gala

Six pretties. Six provocative Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello looks that were all about leggy twists on the LBD at the 2018 Met Gala on Monday (May 7) in New York City.

Zoe Kravitz: The one starlet in the bunch with a long gown, this barely-there lace number still showed off plenty of leg. Her doorknocker earrings were gigantically glorious, and I had to smile at the bows—as if they could add any sweet innocence to the fully sexy look. With this dress, you may be reminded of Rihanna’s 2011 Met Gala moment in black lace.

Anja Rubik: Perhaps the feathered shoes were added as a nod to angel wings, but aside from that, this could be any galactic mini from the designer on any red carpet.

Kate Moss: I have no doubt some may be disappointed that this little black dress marked the first return of the supermodel to the Met Gala since 2009. The angel-feather shoulders do help a bit with the drama factor, but not by much.

Dakota Fanning In Miu Miu – 2018 Met Gala

Dakota Fanning attended the 2018 Met Gala on Monday night (May 7) in New York City at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. She joined Rihanna, Amber Heard and Princess Beatrice.

‘The Alienist’ actress was angelic in embellished Miu Miu, but I cannot help feeling a bit underwhelmed by it. It’s a pretty gown and does tie in with the theme, but it unfortunately lacks the drama required for the grand occasion.

This feels like something she could wear on just about any red carpet. Had she worn a headpiece or a cape, it would have created a memorable ensemble.

What do you think?
