Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Ralph Lauren and Graydon Carter hosted an evening with the cast of ‘Downton Abbey’, which was an evening of cocktails and a screening of Season 3 prior to its premiere in the US on January 6, 2013.

Joanne Froggatt: As you can see, it was a sea of LBDs at this event, but Joanne was not going to cave: she stuck to her fabulous colourful red carpet run, wearing a delightful pink Ralph Lauren Collection silk sleeveless dress with silver accessories. Needless to say, she’s fast becoming one of my red carpet faves as she is a woman after my own heart.

Michelle Dockery: This is the first time we have seen Michelle on the red carpet since her Emmy’s Louis Vuitton disaster. She got her look oh-so-very right last night, wearing a sexy black Ralph Lauren embroidered one-shoulder dress with ombre Ralph Lauren pumps. A faux bob and dark-pink lips completed her look.

Elizabeth McGovern: Even though the actress also opted for a black Ralph Lauren frock, her silk faille dress was styled with punchy accessories including a purple clutch and satin pumps with a gold accent, both by Ralph Lauren. An additional pop of colour came via her red glossy lips. Was this one pop too far?

Sophie McShera: Sophie, who plays my favourite character from Downton Abbey, was also in attendance. Looking very confident, she wore a black-and-gold Brian Lichtenberg festive crop top with a black leather skirt. Her edgy, youthful look included a black clutch and lace-up booties.

Freida Pinto glided down the red carpet for the ‘Life of Pi’ premiere and opening gala during day one of the 9th Annual Dubai Film Festival held at the Madinat Jumeirah Complex in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on Sunday evening.

She was a vision of pure perfection, wearing a one-of-a-kind Ralph Lauren Collection gown which was inspired by the Fall 2012 black version.

Frieda’s gold lamé gown with jewelled serpent-headed collar is one of her most regal looks to date.

A Ferragamo gold and purple enamel minaudière, Charlotte Olympia heels and a large cocktail ring accessorized her look.

Flawless makeup and a wavy updo completed her breathtaking look.

I think I picked the right time to celebrate menswear on the red carpet because it’s raining men in chic suits on a daily bases.

Chris Pine took to the red carpet for ‘The Rise of the Guardians’ premiere held at the Empire Leicester Square in London this evening.

The actor wore a dapper Ralph Lauren Purple Label look.

Piercing blue eyes and handsome good looks aside, there is a lot good going on here.

Chris was decked out in a nutmeg check two-button suit, styled with a lilac dress shirt with a white collar; a printed tie and a purple dotted pocket square.

Tan lace up shoes from the same Ralph Lauren collection completed his look.

I think this is my favourite menswear look so far this week.

It seems as though Eva Mendes has found the perfect accessory for her casual street style – her crossbody Ralph Lauren Collection Cartridge bag.

The gorgeous movie star was first spotted carrying the bag on Monday in West Hollywood whilst taking a walk with her dog, pairing the tan bag with a simple white tee and a loose skirt and her favourite Thierry Lasry ‘Obsessy’ shades.

Proving just how versatile the classic bag truly is, Eva continued to carry the Ralph Lauren satchel on Tuesday vintage shopping and Wednesday wearing an ikat-print Thakoon dress as she ran errands around West Hollywood.

The no-fuss carryall is a perfect complement to Eva’s boho-chic street style, fitting in effortlessly with her vintage-inspired looks.

Emmy Rossum participated in a discussion at the ‘Shameless’ panel during Comic-Con 2012 on Saturday, which was held in San Diego, California.

The actress gave a new meaning to the power suit with her baby blue shorts ensemble — complete with a matching tie — from Ralph Lauren’s Spring 2012 collection.

While I think the suit looks adorable on Rossum and complements her sweet, comedy-driven character, her hair, which is pulled back rather severely, makes the look a little too board room ready for an event like Comic-Con.

Her shoes work well with the suit — they don’t take away from the statement made by the clothing and add height so that her legs aren’t lost in the boxy cut of the shorts.

Had she worn her hair down and vamped up her jewelry choice a little, I think Rossum’s look would have gone from appearing to be straight off the runway to something that she had put her own stamp of personal style on.

Do you think Rossum could have done something to improve this look? Or do you think she got it right the first time around?

Nicole Kidman dazzled on the red carpet this evening for the ‘Hemingway and Gellhorn’ Cannes Film Festival premiere.

The Australian actress looked stunning wearing a 30s-inspired Ralph Lauren Fall 2012 gown.

Her black chiffon beaded dress was styled with cute curly updo with diamond encrusted brooches.

In recently times, I don’t think she’s looked more radiant than she did tonight. I am in awe of how beautiful she looks. This is much more like it for me.

Which look do you prefer the Lanvin or the Ralph Lauren?

I think you know my answer: Ralph Lauren by a very long mile.
