Madonna In Ralph Lauren – 2014 Grammy Awards

Madonna In Ralph Lauren - 2014 Grammy Awards

Madonna took to the red carpet at the 2014 Grammy Awards, hosted at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California on Sunday (January 26).

The singer, who is performing ‘Same Love’ alongside Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, had quite the plus-one in her handsome young boy, David. Even more adorable—mom and son matched in an amazing mini-me moment.

They were both dressed to the nines in Ralph Lauren; he in a dapper little Ralph Lauren Boys ensemble and she in a her double-breasted, wide-leg black tuxedo hailing from the designer’s Spring 2014 collection.

She did up the ante on the runway version of the look with a host of accessories, putting her unique spin on this suit. From the Eric Javits custom designed black felt gaucho hat sitting atop her blonde waves, to the cross pendant on her black tie and the sparkling, fingerless glove by which she carried a black cane—a necessity due to a dance injury—this mannish moment had Madonna written all over it.

The pièce de résistance had to be her grill, though, which she admitted she likes to wear when it matches her outfit.

Madge has worked the tuxedo angle many times before. Are you glad to see her return to the gender-bending look again?

Elizabeth Banks In Ralph Lauren – The Variety Studio: Sundance Edition

Elizabeth Banks In Ralph Lauren - The Variety Studio Sundance EditionElizabeth Banks has also been making the rounds at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, where she was seen at The Variety Studio: Sundance Edition presented by Dawn Levy on Tuesday (January 21).

The actress, who was our Promo Tour Star of 2013, shifted into a mod direction with her Ralph Lauren Spring 2014 black-and-white checquered frock.

The graphic, mock turtleneck mini-dress had a distinct ’60s mood—even without the runway’s retro oversized shades.

The black boots, which have been spotted everywhere at Sundance, once again made an appearance, as she winterized the dress with an over-the-knee pair, along with black tights.

A choppy long bob and bright pink lip completed her hip-casual look.

Chris Pine In Ralph Lauren Purple Label – ‘Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit’ London Premiere

Chris Pine In Ralph Lauren - ‘Jack Ryan Shadow Recruit’ London Premiere

Fresh off his Best Dressed Man of the Week win, Chris Pine was back on the red carpet, joining co-star Keira Knightley for the ‘Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit’ London premiere held at Vue Leicester Square on Monday (January 20) evening.

Once again he opted for a Ralph Lauren Purple Label suit and to go tieless, wearing a two-button woven-to-a-fine-textured tweed suit. It’s tailored to the label’s exacting standards and even without the tie he meets the smart dress code with ease.

At first I thought this suit was a re-run, but then realised that Chris loves wearing tawny-brown suits, as showcased at ‘The Rise of the Guardians’ London premiere and the ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ Berlin premiere.

A white-and-brown-patterned Tom Ford pocket square, brown patent-leather Max Verre lace up shoes and his ever-present David Yurman pinky ring rounded out his look.

Best Dressed Of The Week – Lupita Nyong’o In Ralph Lauren & Calvin Klein Collection and Chris Pine In Ermenegildo Zegna Couture

Best Dressed Of The Week - Lupita Nyong'o In Ralph Lauren & Calvin Klein Collection and Chris Pine In Ermenegildo Zegna Couture2

You know you are a fashion force to be reckoned with when on a best-dressed poll the only person you are in competition with is yourself. That is what happened this week when Lupita Nyong’o’s Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein Collection looks ended up first and second place.

The majority of you picked Lupita’s Ralph Lauren Golden Globes gown. I also loved this look, but my favourite was the Calvin Klein Collection custom gown.

The Ralph Lauren look had too much of a Gwyneth Paltrow/Zhang Ziyi déjà vu-ness about it, which lost it half a point.

However, don’t be surprised if the Ralph Lauren ends up in my BDOTY list ahead of the CK, because that cape is clearly the more memorable ‘I’ve really arrived’ look.

When it came to the fellas there was no such dilemma. It was Team Chris Pine all the way; he took looking devilishly handsome, in a classic Ermenegildo Zegna Couture suit, to a whole new level.

Chris Pine In Ralph Lauren Purple Label – ‘Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit’

Chris Pine In Ralph Lauren Purple Label - 'Jack Ryan Shadow Recruit'

Chris Pine, my best-dressed male from the Golden Globe Awards, was back out on the red carpet again last night (January 15) attending the premiere for his latest flick ‘Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit’ held at TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California.

Smouldering, as he does, the actor turned to one of his preferred labels, Ralph Lauren Purple Label, for his suit.

The label may have been purple, but the two-button suit was black, styled with a crisp white open shirt and matching pocket square.

Max Verre black lace up wingtip shoes and a David Yurman silver pink ring rounded out his look.

It’s a simple ready-in-5 look, which solidifies that he is currently one of the best-dressed men to hit the red carpet.

Lupita Nyong’o In Ralph Lauren – 2014 Golden Globe Awards

Lupita Nyong’o In Ralph Lauren - 2014 Golden Globe Awards

Lupita Nyong’o was a vision in red at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards, hosted at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Sunday (January 12).

The ’12 Years a Slave’ star and supporting actress nominee has also emerged as a new fashion ‘it’ girl, and she didn’t disappoint tonight.

Her off-the-shoulder Ralph Lauren red silk cady cape dress from the Spring 2014 runway had all the drama for which I had hoped—even though I couldn’t help but think of Gwyneth Paltrow’s similar Tom Ford white cape-dress wow moment at the 2012 Oscars.

A few well-placed Fred Leighton jewels, including sparkling stud earrings and cocktail rings, rounded out the look, as a necklace would have ruined the effect.

While I loved the metallic gold eye shadow and the subtle punch of a violet liner under her eyes, not to mention the classic red lip, the more questionable ‘Grace Jones’-inspired ’do also made a repeat appearance.

Did Lupita’s look live up to your expectations?
