Red Carpet Fashion Awards

I knew I spoke to soon yesterday, as it was back to black for Angelina Jolie.

She walked the red carpet at the School of Visual Arts for the New York premiere of her directorial debut, ‘In The Land of Blood and Honey’ with Brad Pitt looking sickeningly gorgeous as usual.

The beauty of this look is its simplicity as Angelina paired an elegant in her black satin Joseph cold-shoulder blouse with a black pleated Ralph Lauren skirt.

Had it not been for that beautiful gold Ofira necklace, this would’ve been a total snooze fest.

It’s good to see that Brad has cleaned up his act somewhat. He no longer looks like he’s on his way to the nearest soup kitchen.

Freida Pinto helped celebrate L’Oreal Paris’ 40th anniversary of their landmark slogan ‘because I’m worth it’ at the Hotel d’Evreux in Place Vendome in Paris on Monday night.

The Indian brand ambassador wore a Ralph Lauren Blue Label dress.

Her gold crinkled-silk maxi-dress, matched with a gold embellished black Balmain Resort 2012 jacket she wore whilst arriving at the event.

Head-to-toe, Freida looks stunning in this gilded ensemble.

The wrinkled-on-purpose look is not an easy one to pull off, but Freida does it with elegance.

Fan Bingbing, who is the L’Oreal ambassador for Asia, also joined in the celebrations.

It’s always a pleasure to see Kerry Washington at any event.

On Wednesday night, the ever-fashionable gal attended the L’Oréal Paris Legends Gala in New York City.

The actress wore a bronze full-length bias-cut Ralph Lauren Collection gown.

Looking very statuesque, she teamed the dress with gold jewelry and a textured clutch.

Personally, I wouldn’t have worn the two necklaces because the dress was already so shiny, but it provide an interesting contrast.

I do think the texture and colour of the dress is quite nice, but I just can’t seem to fully love it. While the look isn’t terrible, it’s just not quite amazing either.

She went for old Hollywood-style waves; a smoky eye and a nude lip completed the look.

Fan Bingbing was your overall favourite to win Best Dressed This Week.

The Asian beauty stepped out of her comfort-zone by wearing a Jason Wu Spring 2012 look which took our breath-away.

It was a risk many of you agreed paid off for the actress.

Whilst I agree with you, I was equally blown away by Camilla Belle.

The dress, the lip colour, the hair and most importantly the attitude were all working together to give us this astounding result.

For someone who has a tendency to be quite ‘ho hum’ on the red carpet, she really stepped things up a notch on this occasion.

Jessica Alba was my least favourite on the red carpet at the Ralph Lauren evening hosted by Oprah Winfrey at the Lincoln Center in New York City last night.

Don’t get me wrong, I love her Ralph Lauren Fall 2011 strapless velvet gown with a beaded bodice, but I’m not as excited about her as I was about the rest of the attendees.

Camilla Belle and Kerry Washington really got into the spirit of this event and almost took on different personas, but I’m not feeling that from Jessica.

It’s very much ‘same Jess, different dress’.

Vintage Ralph Lauren jewels, a Ralph Lauren red deco clutch and simple updo completed her look.

Do you agree or am I being too harsh?

Oprah Winfrey hosted An Evening with Ralph Lauren at the Lincoln Center in New York City last night.

She greeted her guests wearing a breathtaking custom Ralph Lauren gown.

Red appears to be her favourite colour, as she has donned this hue for several special occasions.

Her off-the-shoulder satin gown with a chiffon skirt is both beautiful and flattering, so it’s no surprise she opts for this style time after time.

All the proceeds from this event benefited The Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care and Prevention and the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.
