Menswear Red Carpet Weekend Roundup

Menswear Weekend Red Carpet Roundup 3

Over the weekend, a group of guys attended a range of events, and if nothing else, I couldn’t be more delighted that there was not a shred of traditional black suiting on the red carpet this time around.

Jon Hamm: On Saturday (June 27), the actor joined Sandra Bullock at the premiere of ‘Minions’ at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California, where he wore a summery Ralph Lauren suit contrasted with a baby blue button-down shirt and dark navy tie.

Michael B Jordan: At the 2015 BET Awards on Sunday (June 28), Michael was handsome in a tonal gray-green Sandro suit—with the hue even extending to his dress shoes. Although it was monochromatic, the look had a rich depth, especially when finished with a cobalt tie.

Jason Clarke: While I appreciated his willingness to step outside the traditional sartorial box at the ‘Terminator Genisys’ premiere on Saturday (June 28) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California, his ecru Michael Bastian double-breasted sport coat wasn’t exactly flattering. The ill-fitted effect continued with the unbuttoned dress shirt, with Christian Louboutin ‘Greggo’ shoes completing the ensemble.

Joanne Froggatt In Ralph Lauren – Downton Abbey Gala Dinner

Joanne Froggatt In Ralph Lauren - Downton Abbey Gala Dinner

Joanne Froggatt attends the Downton Abbey Gala Dinner at The Landmark Hotel on Wednesday (June 24) in London, England

The British actress wore a Ralph Lauren floor-sweeping gown which was simple in its fluid design.

When it comes to the styling the bow accented clutch doesn’t feel quite enough. I think jewellery is the missing piece to this look.

Vogue & Ralph Lauren Wimbledon Party

Vogue & Ralph Lauren Wimbledon Party

Boris Becker hosted the Ralph Lauren Wimbledon summer cocktail party to celebrate 10 years of Ralph Lauren as the official outfitter to the championship, alongside Gwendoline Christie and British Vogue, which I was delighted to attend yesterday evening (June 22).

Jessica Chastain: As you can imagine I was most excited to see Jessica Chastain at the event, who opted for Ralph Lauren Collection black and white fit and flare dress which was perfectly in tune with her sophisticated style. It looks like she’s used her time out of the spotlight to catch a few rays.

Alice Eve: With the grey clouds threatening rain, a Ralph Lauren camel knit dress wasn’t a bad choice. What really sold this look to me was Alice’s Ralph Lauren fringed bag which is appeared to have a lot of fun with.

Lily James: The ‘Cinderella’ star looked radiant wearing a Ralph Lauren Collection shirt dress which was relaxed in nature yet possessed plenty of feminine panache. A selection of gold jewels complemented her Ralph Lauren ‘Jean’ sandals.

Ruth Wilson In Ralph Lauren – 2015 Tony Awards

Ruth Wilson In Ralph Lauren - 2015 Tony Awards

Ruth Wilson, who was nominated for Best Leading Actress in a Play for her role in ‘Constellations’, attended the 2015 Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall on Sunday (June 7) in New York City.

The British actress wore a one-of-a-kind fuchsia pink Ralph Lauren gown inspired by the Spring 2015 collection.

This gown, defined by its boxy tee and silk gazar skirt, is a mesmerising embodiment of minimalism.

She could’ve taken on the runway styling, but it would’ve taken away the beauty of the simple, elegant design.

Swept back tresses and Verdura earrings completed her look.

Best Dressed Of The Week – Emmy Rossum In Carolina Herrera, Douglas Booth In Polo Ralph Lauren & Richard Madden In Thom Sweeney

BDOTW 8 June

Emmy Rossum’s BDOTY-worthy Carolina Herrera look was by far your best dressed this week. You won’t be surprised to learn that she was my favourite too.

When it came to the fellas, there was no separating the Brit boys Douglas Booth and Richard Madden in their Rolo Ralph Lauren and Thom Sweeney suits.

There were plenty of dapper gents this week, but I’m guessing the light-coloured summery suits played into your decision-making this week. I would agree, but give Douglas the edge. I still can’t get over Richard’s shoe choice.
