Red Carpet Fashion Awards

On Thursday night, Jessica Biel made a guest appearance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ wearing a lot more colour than we are used to seeing from her.

The future Mrs. Justin Timberlake wore a Preen Resort 2013 dress which is our third look at this collection.

Her vibrant one-shoulder dress with a striking floral print, stripes, one three-quarter length sleeve and a solid asymmetrical neon orange block was styled with white Louis Vuitton pumps with a silver toe-cap.

I had high hopes for this dress to be worn by someone like Rachel Bilson or Kate Bosworth, so I will have to admit that I’m not too crazy about this look on Jessica. I don’t think this type of look suits her style, but it’s interesting to see her step out of her comfort-zone.

She recently admitted to InStyle magazine that Justin often picks out her clothes, so I’m guessing that on this occasion this was one of his choices.

A high ponytail of tumbling curls and a pop of pink to her full lips completed her look.

Yay or nay?

Cate Blanchett was spotted leaving the New York City Center yesterday evening following her performance in ‘Uncle Vanya’ yesterday evening.

The actress wore a Preen Resort 2013 dress.

Her short-sleeved jacquard dress features contrasting two-tone, leopard-stamped prints, a high round neck, an A-line silhouette and pleating at the waist.

She styled the look with a black Jason Wu ‘Daphne’ cross-body bag and black pumps.

This isn’t her first Preen Resort 2013 look, however.

Last Wednesday she attended the cast photocall for ‘Uncle Vanya’ in New York City wearing a Preen black suit with a short-sleeved, button up shirt featuring a vibrant striped print, a solid collar and solid cuffs.

She styled her chic look with classic Roger Vivier black ballet flats.

I love both looks. They are a huge step up from her Givenchy disaster earlier this week.

This week I was invited to view the Preen Resort 2013 collection in London.

Of all the Resort 2013 collections, this one stands out the most. Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi were inspired by Jeff Koon paintings, which is why the collection features so many bright pops of colours.

I fell in love with the pieces, which combined Nick Knight photography with digital brushstroke prints.

As always, my first question was, “Have any celebrities been requesting this collection?” and I was excited to learn that they have been inundated with requests, which is not surprising.

Alongside the strong prints, which I’m certain will catch the eye of the colour-loving Mrs Obama, were cute, dainty two-tone jacquard dresses that are perfect for the likes of Michelle Williams, Rachel Bilson, Keira Knightley and Kate Bosworth.

There were also some striped and colour-blocking menswear-inspired suits I can picture on Leelee Sobieski, Chloe Sevigny and Solange Knowles.

Other key pieces included a vibrant floral and striped maxi dress, striped shirts, cropped sweaters, tapered pants, one-shoulder dresses and an eye-popping coral dress with a cropped-top overlay and a sheer beaded inset.

I can’t wait to see how that works on the red carpet. has just launched the truck show for you to pre-order this collection.

On Sunday, following the photocall for Kristen’s latest movie ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’, the actress attended a press conference at Arundel Castle in West Sussex, England.

After a selection of dark colours, Kristen brightened things up by wearing a colourful Preen Pre-Fall 2012 dress.

The orange sleeveless belted dress with an electric-blue lace overlay was, not surprisingly, shortened for the actress – I told you we would see many more minis this promo tour.

I was surprised, however, that Kristen paired her dress with a vibrant pair of Stella McCartney heels, when black pumps are usually her shoe of choice.

The pop of blue perfectly complements her look.

Ginnifer Goodwin donned her finest hat and headed to Louisville, Kentucky, for the 138th Kentucky Derby on Saturday afternoon.

The actress wore a Preen Spring 2012 dress with the same colour-block chequered print we saw on Michelle Obama last week.

My first reaction was to dislike this watermelon ¾-sleeve dress, but I realised it was just the chequered-print patch I objected too.

I love the silhouette and the pleated detail on the skirt, which could stand to be an inch or three shorter, but the patch feels so out of place as do her black Ann Taylor pumps with this look.

The only thing I can’t fault is her H&M hat.

This is very disappointing for someone of Ginnifer’s calibre.

A Giuseppe Zanotti beige clutch and Bulgari jewels completed her look.

Michelle Obama attended the opening ceremony of the 2012 Warrior Games in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on Monday.

The First Lady wore a Preen Spring 2012 dress.

Her colour-block chequered dress wasn’t a runway look, but you see several looks from the runway with the same print.

This isn’t the first time Michelle has worn Preen. It seems she’s attracted to their colour pieces and their bold-and-beautiful aesthetic.

She may be wearing kitten heels, which I have been fond of, but I love that they are in a light-blue colour which complements her sleeveless dress as do her pink stone earrings.

Perfection as always.
