Last week Cheryl Cole and her Girls Aloud band mates put on a spellbinding show at London’s Wembley Stadium supporting Coldplay.

I thought Girls Aloud supporting Coldplay was a bit strange as their music couldn’t be more different, but Chris Martin had been speaking of his admiration for Girls Aloud in an interview with Q magazine back in July.

The girls set list included their mega hits ‘Sound of the Underground’, ‘Biology’, ‘Love Machine’ and my favourite ‘Something Kinda Ooooh’.

The girls all looks beautiful wearing gorgeous pastel Preen dresses which had been modified from the runway.

Only Kimberly Walsh’s (second from the left) dress has stayed true to it’s original colour scheme, and was no doubt the inspiration for the rest of the modifications.

Do you prefer the modified dresses or the originals?

Thakoon

Ciara was easily one of my favourites at Fashion Week.

She looked so beautiful wearing a Thakoon wool crepe shift dress which had a contrast black chiffon lining and trim, paired with Louboutin pumps.

Donna Karan

Milla Jovovich’s striped Donna Karan Resort 2009 dress is so chic paired with silver pumps.

Altuzarra

I guess Altuzarra weren’t loaning out clothes for their star guests because Leighton Meester wore an eggplant Emilio de la Morena Fall 2009 dress with Proenza Schouler lace-up ankle boots…

…whilst Rachel McAdams wore a navy and white striped Boy by Band of Outsiders Spring 2010 skirt with a black top.

Charlotte Ronson

Jessica Stroup wore a flirty floral Charlotte Ronson Spring 2010 strapless dress which is so exclusive it wasn’t even seen in the Spring 2010 presentation.

She paired her dress with snake-skin strappy sandals.

Marc Jacobs

Lady GaGa wears the same Marc Jacobs Fall 2009 black cap sleeved dress embellished with jeweled stones, which Miss Piggy wore recently.

I wonder who the winner of that WWIB poll will be?

Tommy Hilfiger

I just love this red dress which Taylor Swift pairs with Stuart Weitzman black bow heels.

So vibrant.

Preen

Becki Newton wore a Preen Mixed Mono dress under a black blazer.

I would’ve loved to have seen this dress without the blazer to see more of its multi-print panel design.

Proenza Schouler

Leighton Meester doesn’t look to happy in her Proenza Schouler Resort 2010 ensemble and I don’t blame her.

Max Azria

Lucy Liu was elegant and classy as always wearing a cream fitted Max Azria dress.

Maggie Q’s Max Azria vibrant yellow dress really pops on her.

I love how she brings this strapless draped dress to life.

After being seen as quite boring for a long while, Gwyneth Paltrow shook things up when she was promoting “Iron Man” last year.

The looks became risky as the hemlines and heels were higher.

We developed a girl crush - and heel fetish - during that time, and since then she’s kept things interesting on the red carpet.

Last night was a classic example when Gwyneth arrived at the “Children Of The City ‘Champions Of Hope’ Benefit Gala” wearing a bedazzling Preen Fall 2009 dress with a cut-out detail along the neckline.

With her hair styled in soft loose waves she paired her dress with black Vicini by Giuseppe Zanotti Design ankle boots and a kabbalah bracelet.

The rock chick vibe was toned down with natural make-up and no jewelry.

This is what happens when good clothes happen to people without stylist.

Former Bond girl Gemma Arterton held her engagement party with her Italian fiancée only known as Stefano, at “Sun & 13 Gantons” Brasserie in London this weekend.

She wore a red - or is it orange - Preen Spring 2009 dress which would be hard for many to pull off, and Gemma does herself no favours with those Britney-like ratty extensions and the dirty red pumps.

I love this dress. It has the tough girl elements on the bodice with the cut-out mesh panels, then it blends perfectly with the textured silk asymmetrical multi-tiered miniskirt.

The result is a dress with loads of fashion savvy and urban attitude.

In the right hands it would’ve been a sexy yet glamorous and sophisticated look.

On Gemma it’s a hot mess.

During the Iron Man promotional tour it was the first time I had ever developed a girl crush on Gwyneth Paltrow. Day after day she impressed us with amazing looks.

In Rome she wore a black Preen Power bandage dress, with a pair of 7in sky-high lace-print Giuseppe Zanotti heels.

Gemma Arterton wore the same dress when she arrived at the 2008 British Academy Children’s Awards in London last November.

She wore her dress with black strappy sandals, a black clutch and bold red lips.

Gemma’s curly do, does not quite fit the overtly sexy vibe the dress is giving off, so Gwynie wins for me.

Pop Princess Nicola Roberts, decided to shake things up when she attended the 2009 NME Awards in London last night.

She sexed-up her look wearing a ultra mini Preen Cordula lace-up dress, which has a lace-up neck details, and gold studded straps.

She wore minimal makeup, and completed her look with peep-toe booties.

You can buy this dress from Net-A-Porter’s US site for $1,135, and the international site for £600/€736.

Victoria Hesketh aka Little Boots wore a sparkling Matthew Williamson sequined tank dress.

She defined her waist in this mini dress with a tiny belt, to give the dress some shape. She completed her look with multi-coloured peep-toes, and a fuchsia clutch.

This dress is currently only available on Net-A-Porter’s international site for £1,850/€2,215.

The fashion forward Alexa Chung is not one to wait for clothes to be in stores, she’s already wearing this ruffled micro-mini, with opaque tight, straight off PPQ Fall 2009 runway show this week.

We saw Cheryl Cole arrive in LA last week, and it looks like she was not only in town for meetings with TV executives, but also to attend some Grammy parties.

I am a big fan of Cheryl’s, so I am going to say this as delicately as I can. This Preen Spring 2009 dress is hideous on her. She is so much better than this.

The white mesh dress with strategically placed opaque material, is - for me - a runway dress. I think anyone would struggle to pull this off.

What’s also not helping Cheryl, is her bronze and pink clutch, which does not work with the dress.

The saving grace are her fuschia pink Christian Louboutin Very Galaxy platform pumps £725.
