Anna Wintour Loves Her Prada Coat

Back in October, not long after the Prada Spring 2013 presentation, Anna Wintour was already wearing a coat from the very same collection.

Several months on and the Editor-in-Chief of American Vogue cannot be parted from her mink floral-appliqué coat – in fact, she loves the coat so much she also owns it in three colours; black, green and navy.

For most of the sightings, the coat it has been paired with a floral-print or appliquéd Prada dress, but on Monday you could’ve knocked me down with a feather when she arrived at the Saint Laurent Fall 2013 show wearing tights – a first I think – with her Prada coat and Prada floral print dress.

Unlike fellow Prada lovers Anna Dello Russo and Elle Fanning, Anna isn’t ready to commit to wearing those hideous platform shoes from the same collection.

Now I’m wondering which piece from Prada’s Fall 2013 collection will become Anna’s can’t-live-without piece over the next 6 months.

My guess is Look 17.

Anne Hathaway graced the red carpet on Sunday evening at the 2013 Oscars hosted at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.

Nominated for her role in ‘Les Misérables’, Anne chose a pink column-style gown from Prada. The halter neck tied down the back of the dress like a present ribbon. While this design wasn’t my favorite of the night, the dress has a very delicate feel that suits Anne and her equally delicate features well.

The actress joined Jennifer Lawrence in sporting the back jewelry trend by letting her floral necklace from Tiffany & Co. drape past her shoulders. I love the trend, but in this case the necklace competes with the crisscross of the open back of the dress. Anne wore beautiful silver ankle strap heels and a pink Roger Vivier clutch.

Anne completed her Oscars look with a side swept hairstyle and light pink lip to match her hue of choice.

15th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards

Here are the rest of the looks from the 15th annual Costume Designers Guild Awards, held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in California yesterday evening.

Amy Poehler: The comedian showed off the sophisticated side of her style wearing a black satin Prada dress. The cape-like sleeves gave this curve-hugging number a fresh take while matching black satin heels kept the glam factor going. My favorite part of the entire look? Her Ippolita emerald-green drop earrings that gave this all black ensemble a major boost of colour.

Kristen Wiig: On the other side of the colour-spectrum, Poehler’s former colleague and fellow comedian, Kristen Wiig opted for an all white relaxed shift dress. Taupe suede Christian Louboutin ‘Miyousra’ pumps and a tan clutch with a bright coral stripe accessorized the look by adding depth and a bit of colour.

Maya Rudolph: I can’t say this is my favourite look this awards season, but there are rumours that the comedian is expecting again, so this forest-green one-shoulder printed caftan might serve as a cover up.

Famke Janssen: The’Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters’ star wore a strapless body-hugging plum David Meister gown. While this simple gown felt safe especially on someone like Famke, who has the body to show off all sorts of cuts and styles, the end result was beautiful and elegant. The tone played out Famke’s gorgeous locks which had an Old Hollywood glamour appeal, while the form of the dress highlighted her statuesque form.

Michelle Williams In Prada - ‘Oz The Great and Powerful’ LA Premiere

Michelle Williams attended the world premiere of ‘Oz The Great and Powerful’ held at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, California on Wednesday evening.

Even though it has been a while since we last saw Michelle on the red carpet, her Prada look feels very familiar.

While her white short-sleeved dress enriched with crystals hasn’t taken to the red carpet before, the look and feel gives me a distinct feeling of déjà vu as this is Michelle’s preferred silhouette.

However, I do love that this dress has a split personality. It appears to be angelic from the front, but the side tells a different story as the dress has a slit right up to the waist revealing black panties.

Michelle styled her adventurous look with Prada t-bar sandals which were also embellished with Swarovski crystals; this might be why the actress decided to go sans jewels on this occasion.

A Kate Young for Target black clutch, side-swept bangs on her signature pixie crop, smoky eyes and nude glossy lips completed her look.

Does the split put you off liking this look?

Anna Dello Russo In Prada - New York Fashion Week Street StyleFashion conservatives: Hide your eyes. Anna Dello Russo, and her snappy, over-the-top style, finally came out to play at New York Fashion Week.

The Editor at Large for ‘Vogue Japan’ may have arrived fashionably late to the NYFW party (with perhaps the blustery weather to blame). But she made up for it by flexing her modish muscle on Tuesday while attending the shows.

Choosing an ostentatious, top-to-toe Prada creation from the Spring 2013 collection, the eccentric editor obviously delighted in Miuccia Prada’s equally quirky vision with this white, cropped-sleeve fur coat emblazoned with red poppies.

The flower power continued with her handbag.

To winterize the look, she wore a black, long-sleeve top and white tights, while belting the coat to define her waist.

Banishing the thought of a standard boot, she added some heft with Prada’s peculiar, Geisha-inspired flat-form sandals. At least, for her feet’s sake, she left those silver leather judo socks on the runway,

Her reputation as a fanciful fashion personality was certainly not refuted with this outfit. There’s something ever so interesting about this zany, rule-breaking street style. But, only on Anna.

Can you appreciate her whimsical fashion mania here, or is it just too wonky?

Jude Law In Prada - 'Side Effects' Berlin Film Festival

For his new psychological thriller, ‘Side Effects’, Jude Law made appearances in two different Prada outfits at the Berlin Film Festival on Tuesday.

At the photocall, also attended by Rooney Mara, Jude opted for a casual, sleek look, wearing a Prada navy double-breasted cashmere jacket. For a little accent, he added a gold lapel pin.

Underneath his jacket was a red wool v-neck jumper, which I thought added a great kick of colour. To complete his look, Jude wore anthracite wool trousers and black leather lace-up shoes.

On the red carpet with Rooney Mara for the premiere, he wore a Prada navy velvet tuxedo with a white, covered-placket smoking shirt.

His tuxedo featured extra-wide peak lapels, which I wasn’t too crazy about.

A navy radzmire bow tie and patent-leather lace-up shoes finished his look.

I don’t think Jude looked bad in his tuxedo, but I really think he could have done a lot better.

A jacket with slimmer lapels would’ve been a great start.
