‘Miu Miu Women’s Tales #7 – #8′ Venice Film Festival Premiere

'Miu Miu Women's Tales #7 - #8' - Premiere - 71st Venice Film Festival

A collection of six starlets were at the ‘Miu Miu Women’s Tales #7-#8’ premiere, held during the 2014 Venice Film Festival in Venice, Italy on Thursday (August 28). Naturally, all were representing the label, donning a range of Miu Miu looks that couldn’t have each been more different if they tried.

Dakota Fanning: The trendsetting starlet wore a Miu Miu creamy white satin sheath dress with beaded embellishment, paired with nude platform Miu Miu pumps and a bejeweled grass-green Miu Miu clutch. I would have loved to see the same punch of colour in her shoe, along with an updo.

Kirsten Dunst: The actress went for a retro spin in an A-line Miu Miu dress featuring a funky blue and white swirl print. She accessorized with pops of silver via her clutch and sandals, not to mention the flash of those side-swept platinum locks.

Kate Mara: Donning the same nude platforms as Dakota, Kate wore hers with a nude Miu Miu dress with allover paillettes and a sparkling, decorative neckline. The design was pretty and carried with it a vintage flair, but the colour washed out her complexion, especially with her neutral makeup.

Felicity Jones: Her embellished, midnight-blue Miu Miu dress with sheer sleeves had the fall season written all over it. Black pointy pumps did nothing to lighten the look, but the actress did take a more summery, breezy approach to her barely-there makeup.

Lena Dunham: Once again opting for a head-scratcher of a look, the ‘Girls’ star didn’t exactly stand out for the right reasons in her sombre, daresay frumpy, patterned frock. The Prada dress and the flat, block-heel sandals aged her far beyond my liking—as did her beehive ’do.

Nicoletta Romanoff: The only one to really embrace what’s left of summer, Nicoletta was the most polished of the bunch in her flirty and youthful white ruffle blouse and lemon-yellow skirt by Miu Miu, paired with breezy waves and sun-kissed makeup. If I were to nitpick, I would have selected a colourful, fun sandal not this chunkier brown pair.

Kerry Washington In Prada – 2014 Emmy Awards

KerryWashingtonInPrada2014EmmyAwards

Kerry Washington dazzled everyone who saw her on the red carpet of the 2014 Emmy Awards tonight (August 25) at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles.

The ‘Scandal’ star and new mom wore an eye-catching orange double silk cady strapless column Prada gown with blue, green and clear micro-bed enriched edges and an underlying navy mini skirt embroidered with crystals and paillettes.

A Prada clutch and pumps and Fred Leighton jewelry completed the look.

This dress has everything a memorable red carpet gown should: A fabulous color, an unexpected detail and some drama, and Kerry is the perfect woman to pull it off.

And, lest you ever think Kerry should rest on the laurels of a great gown, she also pulled out an incredible beauty look with a blue smokey eye and new lob hairstyle.

Are you as enchanted as I am?

Rosamund Pike In Prada – ‘Hector and the Search for Happiness’ Berlin Premiere

Rosamund Pike In Prada - 'Hector and the Search for Happiness' Berlin Premiere

Rosamund Pike attended the premiere of her latest movie, ‘Hector and the Search for Happiness’, held at the Zoo Palast on Tuesday (August 5) in Berlin, Germany.

Joining the growing list of mothers-to-be who are taking to the red carpet, the British actress wore a black Prada one-shoulder babydoll-style dress featuring a fine-pleated skirt.

She kept her look refined with tonal Louboutin pumps, opting to slick back her hair and apply a bold red lip colour.

Anyone wishing this dress was in a different colour? Mint-green or pastel-yellow perhaps?

Best Dressed Of The Week – Nicola Peltz In Prada, Vera Farmiga in Peter Pilotto & Colin Firth in Dolce & Gabbana

BDOTW 3 August 2014

Nicola Peltz was your best dressed this week as her orange Prada gown and white Dior dress took the prizes for first and second best, respectively.

This was a surprise for me as the majority of the comments on her Prada gown, which saw her end her tour with a bang, weren’t all that favourable.

My choice was a very easy one: Vera Farmiga in Peter Pilotto. From the dress itself, with the colour and embellishments, to the styling, this was an unexpected, yet fashionable home run for Vera.

Colin Firth was the overall winner for the guys this week for his Dolce & Gabbana navy suit styled with geek-chic glasses.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a roundup of all the guys who took to the red carpet for various events last weekend, including Comic-Con and the Young Hollywood Awards.

Douglas Booth: The handsome British actor wore a smart-casual Polo Ralph Lauren look consisting of a khaki linen sport jacket, mint-green chinos, and a simple white tee and pocket square. The contrasting pair of navy suede brogues don’t ruin the look, but some tan loafers would’ve been preferred here.

Ansel Elgort: Brown, auburn, cinnamon, mud… call Ansel’s Prada Uomo Fall 2014 two-button lapel suit whatever colour you like. I am only getting through this by focusing on the tie. He can do so much better.

Eddie Redmayne: The always impeccably dressed actor wore a micro-checked blue and white suit with navy accents, including slippers which I would’ve swapped out for those nice navy Alexander McQueen loafers he wore during awards season.

Nicola Peltz In Prada – ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’ Tokyo Premiere

Nicola Peltz In Prada - 'Transformers Age of Extinction' Tokyo Premiere

This, ladies and gentlemen, is what I have been waiting for. Nicola Peltz blew me away whilst gliding down the red carpet this evening (July 28) for the Tokyo premiere of her latest movie ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’.

Wearing a gown by the designer who is swiftly becoming her favourite; Prada, she gave us a new colour and new attitude; displaying all the true characteristics of a movie star which many have claimed has been lacking from her red carpet appearances thus far.

Aside from the vivid orange colour the halter gown possess? a deep plunging neckline, open-back and neck tie which she styled with gold strappy sandals.

This look is currently neck and neck with her Giambattista Valli Couture look when it comes to my favourites.

Do you share my love for this gown?
