Felicity Jones In Prada – AARP The Magazine’s 14th Annual Movies For Grownups Awards Gala

Felicity Jones In Prada - AARP The Magazine's 14th Annual Movies For Grownups Awards Gala

Felicity Jones attended the AARP The Magazine’s 14th Annual Movies For Grownups Awards Gala at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel on Monday (February 2) in Beverly Hills, California.

Following the Academy Awards nomination luncheon, the ‘Theory of Everything’ actress changed out of her Dior frock into this Prada black silk draped bustier dress featuring contrasting white stitching.

Sitting on the fence, I do like the look for not being a basic LBD, but I’m at odds with the random placements of some of the contrast stitching, like the asymmetrical one on the bodice, for example.

Prada sandals, sleek locks and a ruby lip rounded out her look.

Elizabeth Debicki In Prada – 2015 G’Day USA Gala

Elizabeth Debicki In Prada - 2015 G’Day USA Gala

Elizabeth Debicki attended the 2015 G’Day USA Gala held at the Hollywood Palladium on Saturday (January 31) in Los Angeles, California, joining fellow Aussies Nicole Kidman, Naomi Watts and Chris Hemsworth.

Like Nicole, Elizabeth opted for black, wearing a Prada gown with a pleated bodice enriched with crystal and stone floral embroidery.

Prada seem to apply some form of embroidery to most of their red carpet gowns, but in this case it saves the design from being a snooze.

Elizabeth, with her statuesque frame, is very elegant in this look.

Do you agree? Or does this dress hail from the bad batch of Prada red carpet gowns?

Best Dressed Of The Week – Emma Stone In Christian Dior Couture, Camila Alves In Donna Karan Atelier & Eddie Redmayne in Prada

Despite you guys not loving the sheer skirt trend, Emma Stone was your favourite this week.

You were blown away by how modern and chic she looked as she opted, once again, to eschew a traditional gown, wearing a Christian Dior Couture look that was a bold take on the tux trend to the SAG Awards.

My favourite without question was Camila Alves in Donna Karan Atelier. Some might say a very predictable choice, but between the colour, the pose and the elegant draping, this look rendered me speechless.

When it came to the guys, the choice was simple and unanimous: Eddie Redmayne in Prada.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup 30 jan

Here is a quick roundup of some of the menswear looks taking to the red carpet this week.

Adrien Brody: The actor opted for a black and black Alexander McQueen open-lapel tuxedo while attending the Producers Guild of America Awards on Sunday. The sharply tailored look, as always, was styled with a Bulgari timepiece.

David Oyelowo: The British actor returned home to London for the premiere of his latest movie, ‘Selma’, on Tuesday (January 27). Often the actor is quite experimental on the red carpet, with looks ranging from metallic gold to green. On this occasion he wore Prada, donning a one-button tuxedo featuring a black shawl collar, which he styled with black studded loafers. While I applaud his out-of-the-box efforts, this is my favourite look from him this year.

Eddie Redmayne: The actor joined his ‘Theory of Everything’ co-star Felicity Jones for the Cinema Vanguard Awards Ceremony held during the 2015 Santa Barbara Film Festival. Oozing plenty of boyish charm, he suited up in a dark blue Prince of Wales Ralph Lauren Purple Label suit. Blue has always been a great colour for Eddie and this offering is no exception.

Jennifer Lawrence In Prada – 2015 Producers Guild Awards

Jennifer Lawrence In Prada - 2015 Producers Guild Awards

Jennifer Lawrence attended the 2015 Producers Guild Awards held at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza on Saturday (January 24) in Los Angeles, California.

Having been given the green light to wear something other than Dior, this should’ve been Jennifer’s moment to really shine and showcase the style we fell in love with during the first ‘Hunger Games’ movie.

Sadly, that wasn’t going to be the case.

Instead she wore this Prada blush-hued dress accented with stone and crystal detailing with a rather strange panel placed at her midriff and back.

Looking at this picture, for me, it’s kinda hard, and near impossible, to believe this is a 24-year-old woman. She’s aged by many years here.

Perhaps I’m going overboard as I am dying to see her in something more modern à la Emma Stone, but there is nothing remotely appealing about this look in my eyes.

Gold Prada sandals rounded out her look.

2015 SAG Awards Menswear Roundup

Men SAG 1

We’ve seen all the ladies, so here is a quick roundup of some of the other attendees of the 2015 SAG Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium on Sunday (January 25) in Los Angeles, California.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau: Looking ever so handsome, the ‘Game of Thrones’ actor wore a Salvatore Ferragamo three-piece black tuxedo, white tuxedo shirt and black satin bow tie.

Eddie Redmayne: The award-winning British actor never has an off day. Last night he looked very dapper wearing a double-breasted Prada suit with shiny patent-leather shoes.

Matthew McConaughey: Keeping up his snazzy blazer run from last awards season, the actor wore a Brioni suit with a blue sheen blazer, which certainty stood out in a sea of black tuxedos. The look was styled with Tod’s shoes.
