Dianna Agron In Prada – 2017 Global Citizen Festival

Dianna Agron turned heads at the 2017 Global Citizen Festival on Saturday (September 23) in New York.

The former ‘Glee’ actress’s mustard Prada dress with floral print had a fun, summertime quality to it.

A hot pink bag and coordinating velvet shoes with shimmering buckles injected even more happiness into the ensemble.

Some might find the long strap of the purse to be distracting against the printed dress, but I find it impossible not to smile when looking at this outfit.

Dianna’s beachy waves and Alison Lou jewels including gorgeous pink earrings finished the pretty look.

2017 Emmy Awards Menswear Roundup

The 2017 Emmy Awards were last night (September 17) in LA, and they delivered a number of memorable looks from the menswear department.

Caleb McLaughlin: The ‘Stranger Things’ actor may only be 15, but age has had no impact on his trendsetting, grown-up style. He dressed to impress in a custom Garçon Couture tuxedo that I loved for its bold purple, floral dinner jacket; the colour of which added snazzy, youthful fun to the look. Slim trousers and slipper-style loafers completed the suave ensemble.

Noah Schnapp:
‘Stranger Things’ will not be faulted for not having quite the stylish set of young guns, as I’m even more obsessed with 13-year-old Noah’s style. Statement jackets and cool-kid looks are his current M.O., and that can be thoroughly witnessed in this Balmain outfit. From the royal, velvet military jacket, to his embroidered slippers, he is showing guys three times his age how it’s done.

Finn Wolfhard: Rounding out the ‘Stranger Things’ trio, Finn took a safer approach in a black Prada tuxedo that still wins him style points, though.

Yara Shahidi In Prada – 2017 Emmy Awards

Yara Shahidi continues to impress on the red carpet, with the 2017 Emmy Awards providing yet another instance where the young starlet showed her unique embrace of style on Sunday (September 17) in LA.

As we know quite well, embellished Prada gowns can either go so right or so wrong, but Yara’s delightful Prada dress fell firmly in the success column.

I love how the nearly nude hue of the gown made the lushness of the foliage-green, sequin motif and the shiny braided belt come alive.

Prada clutch and shoes rounded out the modern, storybook look.

Gigi Hadid’s NYFW Street Style

Much like Doutzen Kroes, model Gigi Hadid has also been out and about in New York City amidst the hustle and bustle of New York Fashion Week.

When she hasn’t been walking the runways the likes of Anna Sui, Prabal Gurung, and Jeremy Scott, she’s been spotted flaunting her own unique off-duty style.

First up, she donned a Tamuna Ingorokva Fall 2016 jumpsuit styled with Linda Farrow X Dries Van Noten sunglasses, Sanayi313 star-studded shoes, and one of her favoured Stalvey bags. This look reminded me of Doutzen’s The Row ensemble, as it may have been neutral in colour and simple in silhouette, but Gigi’s punchy styling kept it on the cool side—and far away from lacklustre territory.

While you might first notice the fringed Prada T-shirt and Paige Hoxton tight leather pants, there’s no doubt your gaze will quickly revert to the platform sneakers that could have easily been found in Lady Gaga’s closet. The same Linda Farrow X Dries Van Noten shades completed this ensemble that would have looked just as good with those Sanayi313 starry mules.

Introducing a bit of colour to the equation, Gigi brightened up her outlook in a bubblegum-pink 3.1 Phillip Lim sweater styled with a pair of girly embellished, cropped denim and Christian Louboutin ‘Boudiva’ glitter and velvet block heel mules. While the furry footwear may raise an eyebrow or two, I love how they reflected the playful personality that was packed into this look.

Imogen Poots In Prada – ‘I Kill Giants’ Toronto Film Festival Premiere

I was pleasantly surprised by Prada recently, with Jessica Chastain’s captivating gown at the 2017 Toronto Film Festival.

But, my brief love affair ended abruptly when Imogen Poots entered the film festival circuit for the ‘I Kill Giants’ TIFF premiere last Saturday (September 9), as I was quickly reminded why Prada can be a difficult sell on the red carpet.

It wasn’t just the lacklustre silhouette of the dress, but also the unflattering satin-y fabrication and the haphazard fringed beading that were problematic.

Add to that the black platform pumps and a messier approach to hair and makeup, and it’s a recipe for a redo. There isn’t anything I’d salvage here.

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

The men didn’t take a break this weekend either, with the 2017 Toronto Film Festival summoning many of them to the red carpet—plus a few other occasions.

Bill Skarsgard: At the ‘It’ Stockholm premiere, Bill wore a tweedy, printed Bottega Veneta suit that he enhanced with the deep navy dress shirt. I just wish he had buttoned the top button of his jacket.

Alan Cumming: At the ‘Battle of the Sexes’ TIFF premiere on Sunday (September 10), Alan showed off his quirky style in a Stella McCartney double-breasted pinstriped suit. The tapered pants didn’t really do the look any favours, and I generally have the same reaction to men’s platform shoes as I do to women’s—being.

Aubrey Drake Graham: At ‘The Carter Effect’ TIFF premiere on Saturday (September 9), the entertainer dressed up in a Prada ensemble that was emboldened by its aubergine palette.
