Zoe Saldana In Prabal Gurung – Front Row @ Prabal Gurung Fall 2012

I was so excited to see Zoe Saldana sitting two rows in front of me at the Prabal Gurung Spring 2012 presentation during New York Fashion Week yesterday.

As you can image she was a vision of perfection. Just as radiant and glossy as I had imagined.

The woman who kick started our obsession with the designer wore a chic look from Prabal’s Spring 2012 collection.

Her aqua and white trimmed blazer was teamed with a white knit v-neck top and psychedelic print pants.

The look was perfected with Nicholas Kirkwood for Prabal Gurung shoes.

This is my first BDOTW contender.

Prabal Gurung Fall 2012

After the Prabal Gurung Fall 2012 presentation yesterday afternoon, I’m sure his phone was ringing off the hook as celebrity stylists would’ve been dying to get first dibs on many looks for their clients.

The designer started with black and electric blue edgy looks with a fetish vibe on dark haired models and ended with blonde models wearing angelic gold and white ensembles accented with chiffon ruffles, sequins and feathers.

We saw mostly form fitting silhouettes which ranged from sporty to sleek gowns.

I loved the return of the futuristic psychedelic prints from the Spring 2012, the introduction to oil-spill foil-printed neoprene, which was moulded to several key looks and the bold, sculptured cuts.

Luxe fur coats, black shimmering suits, fitted pants, bustier dresses with a cape back and cashmere jackets were presented alongside a finale of gorgeous gowns.

Joan Smalls’ black tulle gown with jet beads and onyx crystals was the jewel in the crown, but the ivory tulle gown with ostrich feathers which closed the show also made you crane your neck to get a closer look.

Key accessories included Agnelle leather gloves, Fenton jewlery, Linda Farrow Projects eyewear, Philip Treacy hats and Nicholas Kirkwood heels.

Front Row: Zoe Saldana and Lily Rabe

Jessica Chastain In Prabal Gurung – 2012 Palm Springs Film Festival Awards Gala

Jessica Chastain received the ‘Spotlight Award’ at Saturday’s Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala for ‘The Help’.

The actress Prabal Gurung Pre-Fall 2012 dress.

Her hunter green geometric patchwork jacquard molded seam dress was paired with Cartier white-gold, black-onyx, and rubellite drop earrings, and a white-gold diamond Hypnose ring.

While this look has all my favourite elements for a glam look (redhead, emerald-green dress, red lips), it stills feels like there is something missing.

Perhaps a clutch?

Strappy black Jimmy Choo sandals complete the look.

This is the second Prabal Gurung dress to hit the red carpet this weekend.

Mila Kunis In Prabal Gurung – St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s 50th Anniversary Gala

Mila Kunis attended the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s 50th Anniversary Gala in Beverly Hills on Saturday evening.

The actress wore a Prabal Gurung Spring 2012 dress.

I just love this purple guipure lace dress with a silk crepe de chine skirt with hand-pleated crinkle chiffon panels.

With Mila’s silky dark waves and perfectly smoky eyes, this violet colour is absolutely striking.

It is interesting to note that Mila’s top is a bit less laced up than seen on the runway – and at an event for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, nonetheless!

The look is flawless, regardless.

Mila teamed her dress with Elie Saab shoes, a Killian clutch and Pomellato ‘Capri’ pink chalcedony dome ring.

Yao Chen In Prabal Gurung – Sina Microblogging Event

Yao Chen attended the Sina Microblogging event in Beijing on Wednesday evening.

The actress wore a standout Prabal Gurung Spring 2012 cocktail dress, paired with silver Miu Miu pumps.

This surreal floral-print silk georgette embroidered dress has an exposed back plus exploding tulle petals, French knots, plastic and embroidered hand-painted latex razor paillettes.

Somehow, Yao manages to make all that detail completely elegant, and almost – dare we say – simple.

While the runway version adds a bit more shape and toughness to the dress with a corset-esque black leather belt and matching black shoes, Yao keeps her look ladylike with a slick bun and large white clutch.
