Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Cate Blanchett was back on the red carpet yesterday evening, much to our delight, for the Dubai Film Festival and IWC Schaffhausen Filmmaker Award Gala dinner held at the One and Only Mirage Hotel in Dubai.

Looking fashion forward in her Peter Pilotto Spring 2013 look, she opted not to wear the psychedelic pants worn on the runway, going instead for a more event-appropriate trim black skirt.

The pants weren’t needed as the crewneck beaded and embroidered peplum top with short flutter sleeves sells this look on its own.

A black clutch and sandals with gold beaded details, both by Roger Vivier, plus a watch by the host, IWC, accessorized her look.

Flawless makeup and a simple bun provided the finishing touches.

Rashida Jones joined many stars on the red carpet at The Hollywood Palladium, to honour Katy Perry at the ‘Trevor Live’ event in California on Sunday evening.

If fashion was food, this would be a buffet – meaning I want to sample everything.

Keeping the menswear-inspired trend going strong, the actress donned an electric-blue Celine suit which she styled with a Peter Pilloto Fall 2012 printed blouse with a solid contrast collar and cuffed sleeves.

Factor in those delicious Giuseppe Zanotti hot-pink pumps and a silver metallic Jimmy Choo ‘Tube’ clutch we have a BDOTW worthy look.

Sporting a big smile, Kristen Stewart made a guest appearance on ‘The Tonight Show With Jay Leno’ yesterday evening to promote her the new movie, ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2’.

The actress, who looks to have got some shut eye, wore a Peter Pilotto ‘Damask’ Resort 2013 dress.

Her cap-sleeve, uber short digital-print dress with a layered skirt and cinched waist is fun, colourful and vibrant but leaves me green with envy. I miss the days when I could get away with wearing a dress that short.

I would’ve loved it had Kristen been more adventurous with her shoes choice, but for the third time in a row she wore her Christian Louboutin ‘Decollette’ black pumps.

A wavy (some might say messy) ponytail, a pretty pink lip colour and her favourite Cartier ‘Juste Un Clou’ bracelet completed her look.

Here are some more looks from Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year Awards which took place at Claridge’s Hotel in London yesterday evening.

Ellie Simmonds: We’ve had the face of and the voice of the 2012 London Olympics; here we have the face of the Paralympics, Ellie Simmonds. The athlete wore a midnight-blue Stella McCartney dress with a V-neckline and black embellishments. She was honoured on the night with Victoria Pendleton and Jessica Ennis, all receiving the ‘British Ambassadors of the Year’ award.

Daisy Lowe: The model opted for pale makeup with smoky eyes and blood-red lips while wearing an embellished Elie Saab gown. Her ¾-length-sleeve gown was styled with a Charlotte Olympia clutch. Daisy often opts for this type of makeup so it wasn’t just for Halloween.

Ruth Wilson: The British actress wore a black silk camisole top with her striking Peter Pilotto Spring 2013 skirt with a flounced hem. Black Kirkwood pumps and an Anton Heunis three crystal square statement necklace accessorized her look.

Yasmin Le Bon: The supermodel wore a Willow Resort 2013 draped top and loose-fit pants with a snakeskin print which she styled with petrol-blue Nicholas Kirkwood peep-toes and a silver clutch. Read more…

Olivia Munn attended the 2012 Courage in Journalism Awards hosted by International Women’s Media Foundation at the Beverly Hills Hotel in California last night.

The actress, who you all want to drop the cutesy looks, wore a Peter Pilotto Fall 2012 dress on this occasion.

Her blue velvet dress with a mesmerizing digital print and cut-outs was styled with Christian Louboutin ‘T-Piga’ heels.

A simple bun and glossy lips provided the finishing touches.

Is this an improvement on yesterday’s look?

You may remember that Olga Kurylenko wore this same dress back in August.

On yet another cold and rainy night during the London Film Festival, Holliday Grainger added a burst of colour to the dull red carpet.

She wore a Peter Pilotto Resort 2013 ensemble consisting of a blue sleeveless, printed, collared silk blouse featuring contrast embroidery at the yoke and a fitted pencil skirt with an equally striking print and a short side slit.

Opting not to wear the Nicholas Kirkwood heels as worn by the model in the lookbook, Holliday opted for simple black Mary Jane pumps.

Thankfully because of her bold print dress, her Charlotte Olympia ‘Pandora’ Perspex clutch, her interesting cuff and the way she’s working that bold dark lip colour, the blah shoes aren’t that much of an issue.

A spiky topknot completed her fashion-forward (sans Mary Janes) look.
