Selena Gomes In Peter Pilotto – 2013 NewNowNext Awards

Selena Gomez hit the red carpet at the 2013 NewNowNext Awards on Friday at The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles prior to the 2013 MTV Movie Awards.

The young star wore a Peter Pilotto Spring 2013 top with Plein Sud black leather pants with python detail and Giuseppe Zanotti pumps.

The show-stopping top was worn previously by Cate Blanchett, who is a tough act to follow, but I think Selena holds her own.

The top is playful and modern, and Selena was wise to pair it with solid black pants versus the geometric-print seen on the model–that would have been way too much look for ‘real life’.

Selena’s green eyeshadow is right on point for the season and the outfit, and while her pin-straight locks look beautiful, I think the one way Cate trumps her is by pulling her tresses back. This top needs to be seen.

4th Annual ELLE Women in Music Celebration

There were many more PYTs on the red carpet at the Edison Ballroom in New York City yesterday evening for Elle’s Women in Music Celebration.

Kelly Rowland: Keeping her look uber casual, the singer wore a white tee paired with black leather pants. Silver Saint Laurent ‘Paloma’ sandals – which we’ve seen in gold on Jada Pinkett Smith – and a stack of bracelets which complemented her necklace and ring completed her look. I’m still longing for the day she returns to her cropped ‘do.

DJ Kiss: The superstar DJ opted to break up the runway, pairing her Peter Pilotto Spring 2013 ‘Lauena’ printed skirt with a black silk sleeveless top. I love the bright-orange lip and the swirling cuff, but the ankle-strap heels weigh down the look.

June Ambrose: The chic stylist wore a BCBG Max Azria ‘Sur’ printed shawl-lapel blazer with matching BCBG Max Azria ‘Clay’ printed pants and a solid black tank top. While I’m not fond of the stark white pumps on this occasion, I do like that she, as always, thought outside of the black-pump box.

Julianne Hough In Peter Pilotto – London Show Rooms LA

Julianne Hough attended the London Show Room LA event at Thompson Hotel last night in Beverly Hills.

The ‘Safe Haven’ actress wore a long-sleeved Peter Pilotto Fall 2013 dress with Preen x Aldo Rise ‘Musilova’ pumps.

This dress is nothing, if not a conversation starter. The print is very intriguing, and I always love long-sleeves on a red carpet. But that’s about where my love stops.

The black fabric encircling the bodice is beyond awkward and makes the petite actress look bulky. It draws the eye in, making it all but impossible to look at Julianne herself. I literally have to force my eyes to focus on her face.

I’m a huge Julianne fan, but I am not a fan of this dress. Do you agree? Or are you seeing some value here that I’m missing?

Jada Pinkett-Smith In Peter Pilotto – Out In New York City

Jada Pinkett-Smith lit up the streets of Manhattan yesterday afternoon wearing a very colourful ensemble.

The Peter Pilotto Resort 2013 look, which is a stunning masterpiece and a feast for the eyes, features a yellow sleeveless jacquard silk blouse with swirling sequin embellishments and a contrasting white collar.

She paired this modern top with a geometric-print pencil skirt from the same collection, which was equally mesmerizing and hypnotic.

This might be colour and print overload for some, but I love her styling over the look book as I prefer the yellow top with the green skirt.

Simple cobalt-blue pumps and ombre curly locks completed her look.

Qiu Lan In Peter Pilotto – 7th Asian Film Awards Cocktail Party

Qiu Lan joined Michelle Yeoh on the red carpet at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Hong Kong on Sunday for the 7th Asian Film Awards cocktail party ahead of the main event.

Not one for princess ballgowns, the Asian beauty wore an edgy look by London-based design duo Peter Pilotto.

Her sleeveless, square-neck Spring 2013 cocktail dress with a slight trumpet silhouette and cut-out detail could be mistaken for a top and skirt, as the look features an elaborate beaded, sequinned emerald-and-black embroidered top with a contrasting printed skirt.

Embracing both new and classic perspectives on elegance, utilising otherworldly patterns on soft sculptural shapes, her dress, which focuses on modernity, was thankfully not styled with plain black pumps.

Qiu Lan opted for a perforated pair of nude open-toe sandals, completing the look with rosy cheeks and a dark-pink lip colour.
