2015 Cosmopolitan Fun Fearless Female Awards

Cosmopolitan Awards 2015

Two lovely ladies caught my eye at the Cosmopolitan Fun Fearless Female Awards held at the Ritz hotel on Tuesday (October 27) in Madrid, Spain.

Blanca Suarez: This Oscar de la Renta floral appliqué halter gown was my favourite look from the Resort 2016 collection. While the red Yliana Yepez clutch co-ordinates well with the look, the gym bun doesn’t work. You may remember that Elisabeth Moss rocked this stunner back in June for the Tony Awards.

Silvia Abascal: The actress was elegance personified in her beaded Giorgio Armani Fall 2015 gown. Some might of steered away from additional sparkle, but her Jimmy Choo clutch and Dinh Van earrings complemented rather than overcooked the look.

Carey Mulligan In Oscar de la Renta – ‘Suffragette’ LA Premiere

Carey Mulligan In Oscar de la Renta - 'Suffragette' LA Premiere

Carey Mulligan attended the premiere of ‘Suffragette’ at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater on Tuesday (October 20) in Beverly Hills, California.

There are celebrities styles which I love (Cate Blanchett, Zoe Saldana, Gabrielle Union, Diane Kruger, Lucy Liu, Jane Krakowski, Sophia Bush); have learned to live with (Kate Winslet, Fan Bingbing (when it comes to the shoes); and those who will consistently make my eyes roll (Sofia Vegara, Jennifer Aniston).

Carey was in the “learned to live with” section, but with each passing day I’m feeling a lot of love.

On this occasion she looked every so pretty wearing an Oscar de la Renta Spring 2016 organza and lace halterneck dress with delicate cascading ruffles in a sugary lilac shade.

A contrasting magenta lip and grey pumps rounded out this look.

Selma Blair In Oscar de la Renta - Operation Smile's 2015 Smile Gala

Selma Blair attended Operation Smile’s 2015 Smile Gala at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel on Friday (October 2) in Beverly Hills, California.

The actress wore a very lady-like marigold cocktail dress with a black lace bustier and neoprene laser cut floral embroidery which was classic Oscar de la Renta.

While this might be deemed as a success by some, I prefer the look book styling with the belt and strappy sandals.

Kristen Wigg attended the 2015 New York Film Festival premiere of ‘The Martian’ held at the Alice Tully Hall on Sunday (September 27) in New York City.

You guys weren’t pulling any punches when you said you hated her previous look by Valentino, so I’m intrigued to see if you think this Oscar de la Renta Spring 2016 dress is an improvement.

For me it toes the same line: sweet, feminine, embellished; yet, I find myself slightly underwhelmed.

Perhaps the styling is at fault as I may have loved this with some loose waves.

Claire Danes attended the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony that unveiled her star on Thursday (Sept. 24) in Hollywood, California.

The epitome of effortless vibrancy, the actress dressed for the occasion in an Oscar de la Renta Spring 2016 broderie anglaise frock in a beautiful carnation-red hue.

Despite the ruffles and eyelet detail, the direction did not veer too sweet—it was just right with a lovely juxtaposition between vintage charm and casually modern femininity, making this look utterly delightful.
