Reese Witherspoon In Oscar de la Renta - 2014 CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund Event

Reese Witherspoon co-hosted the 2014 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund event alongside Diane von Furstenberg which was held at Chateau Marmont on Tuesday (October 21) in Los Angeles, California.

In tribute to the late fashion legend, the actress wore a luncheon-lovely Oscar de la Renta frock which exudes graceful elegance.

The plunging floral design with a nipped-in waist and flared skirt was styled with playful accompaniments such as her black and white Giuseppe Zanotti sandals, Jennifer Meyer jewelry and a polka-dot L.K. Bennett ‘Nina’ clutch.

Glossy golden waves and sultry cat-eyes rounded out her luncheon look.

Jennifer Lawrence attended Elle’s 21st annual Women in Hollywood celebration held at the Four Seasons Hotel on Monday (October 20) in Beverly Hills, California.

She also paid homage to the late designer Oscar de la Renta, wearing an ivory corded guipure lace dress from the Spring 2015 collection which was lined, unlike the version we saw on the runway.

This piece is one part reserved and the other oozing romantic femininity. She gave the look an edge with black accessories including a Rodo clutch, waist-cinching belt and Christian Louboutin ‘Valnina’ laser-cut sandals.

The actress wore a dress from what is now the late Oscar de la Renta’s final collection.

Her embroidered ivory organza dress enhanced with painted flowers and ostrich feathers was wisely styled with just black Christian Louboutin ‘So Kate’ pumps and an onyx ring.

My only objection is the makeup; I feel it should’ve been toned down to match the elegant nature of her frock.

Remembering Oscar de la Renta

LUX_3990

On Monday (October 20) it was confirmed that Oscar de la Renta, the legendary Dominican-American fashion designer, has died at age 82, having battled cancer for quite some time.

The designer, who was once quoted as saying “I don’t really know how to do casual clothes”, leaves behind a legacy of some of the greatest and most elegant designs to ever grace the red carpet.

Dressing everyone from First Ladies Jackie Kennedy, Nancy Reagan, Hillary Clinton and Laura Bush to stars such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Jessica Chastain, Amy Adams, Allison Williams, Emmy Rossum and Lea Michele, to name a few, the fashion legend will be greatly missed and will long be remembered for all things classic, elegant and beautiful.

Kaitlyn Dever In Oscar de la Renta – ‘Laggies’ New York Premiere

Kaitlyn Dever In Oscar de la Renta - 'Laggies' New York Premiere

Kaitlyn Dever was back on the red carpet for the ‘Laggies’ New York premiere held at Crosby Street Hotel on Monday (October 13) in New York City.

Keeping it simple and sweet, the actress wore an Oscar de la Renta black lace dress styled with a pair of Brian Atwood platform peep-toes.

While this doesn’t make the same bold impressive statement she made last week, I do love the romantic femininity she brought to the red carpet on this occasion.

Sarah Gadon In Oscar de la Renta – Dracula Untold’ London Premiere

Sarah Gadon In Oscar de la Renta - Dracula Untold' London Premiere

Sarah Gadon attended the ‘Dracula Untold’ premiere held at Odeon West End on Wednesday (October 1) in London, England.

The actress put on quite a regal showing, wearing an Oscar de la Renta Resort 2015 dress with a white lace bodice which cascades in beautiful blooms to her black silk-satin skirt; however, I can’t help but wish this was a gown or at least tea-length.

Firstly to take this to another level of gorgeousness, but also to cover up her uninspiring footwear.

Beautiful wavy blonde tresses, stunning drop earrings and a perfect rouge pout rounded out her near-perfect look.

Are you wishing this was a tad longer too?

Jessica Chastain In Michael Kors & Oscar de la Renta – 2014 San Sebastian Film Festival

Jessica Chastain In Michael Kors & Oscar de la Renta - 2014 San Sebastian Film Festival

Moving on from London, Jessica Chastain graced the 62nd San Sebastian Film Festival with her beauty on Monday (September 22) in San Sebastian, Spain with two great looks.

Arrival: Jessica arrived looking fresh and beautiful wearing a Michael Kors Resort 2015 sleeveless printed dress tailored in a flattering, elegant silhouette. Effortless styling with nude accessories, including Michael Kors ‘Doris’ sandals, topped off this ultra-feminine offering.

‘The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby’ Premiere: For the premiere held at the Victoria Eugenia Theater, Jessica kept the style short while dialling up the glamour, wearing an Oscar de la Renta Resort 2015 black silk faille cocktail dress with bold white taffeta embroidered blooms and a voluminous invert-pleated skirt to create a standout feminine silhouette. It’s really the hair and makeup which inject the glamour, from those glossy screen-siren waves to that glossy red lip.

I think she nailed both looks, even though I would’ve loved a gown for the premiere.
