Meghan, Duchess of Sussex In Oscar de la Renta, Lady Kitty Spencer In Dolce & Gabbana & Countess Spencer In Roksanda – Celia McCorquodale’s Wedding to George Woodhouse

Newlyweds Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were all smiles as they attended the wedding of his cousin Celia McCorquodale to George Woodhouse at St Andrew and St Mary’s Church in Stoke Rockford, Lincolnshire this weekend.

The new Duchess of Sussex – exactly four weeks after her big day – wore long-sleeved blue-and-white Oscar de la Renta long-sleeve paisley wrap dress from the Resort 2019 collection with a white Marks and Spencer Pillbox Bow fascinator and Carolina Herrera Scala Insigna clutch.

I’m going to be brutally frank by saying this is by far her worst look since stepping into the spotlight.

The dress appears too big, the styling appears clumsy and her hair was surprisingly messy. One has to wonder if she got dressed in the back seat of the car.

If I was to sum up this look in one word it would be sloppy.

I have always refrained from comparing the Duchess’s, but as Olga said in Meghan last post; “Kate’s style can be boring and repetitive, but I always find her impeccable: crisp clothes and tidy, glossy hair.”

In this instance, I wholeheartedly agree.

Chopard Secret Night Red Carpet Roundup

There were many more gorgeous gals who attended Chopard’s Secret Night during Cannes Film Festival on Friday (May 12), where they joined by Lupita Nyong’o, Marion Cotillard and Julianne Moore.

Joan Smalls: We expect models to attend these events in predictable sheer, slit to the hipbone dresses, but Joan was not sticking to those loose rules on this occasion. The model looked breath-taking wearing a Miu Miu Collection bow accented top and fluid skirt. I found this look very elegant and chic. Miu Miu executed this beautifully. I would say it’s one of my favourites so far. The look was styled with Roger Vivier sandals and Chopard jewels.

Irina Shayk: The one thing you can always expect from Irina at Cannes is high-glamour. She had me purring with delight at her Alberta Ferretti emerald green velvet gown styled with matching Chopard jewels. This is definitely her best at Cannes this year. Even if this dress did remind me of Rita Ora’s Grammy gown.

Sofia Vergara In Oscar de la Renta – ‘SOLO: A Star Wars Story’ LA Premiere

Sofia Vergara stepped out at the ‘SOLO: A Star Wars Story’ LA premiere on Thursday (May 10) alongside Angela Sarafyan and Peyton List.

Va-va-voom glamour is very much her signature, but she showed a softer side in tiered Oscar de la Renta Spring 2018.

The sultriness of the strapless neckline was tempered with the delicate layers of the flared skirt.

The whimsical three-dimensional quality is played up with the scrawled logo print. It gives the effect that the dress has been constructed from handwritten notes.

Nicki Minaj In Oscar de la Renta – 2018 Met Gala

When Nicki Minaj wants to make a statement, she knows how to do it. Her look at the 2018 Met Gala on Monday (May 7) in New York City speaks to that.

Seamlessly fusing her sensual style with the gala’s theme, she ensured all eyes were on her with this Oscar de la Renta ensemble and rosary-adorned headpiece. It almost looks like it’s aflame with the gradient tulle and sequined fabric.

As spellbinding as this is, one cannot help but think that her 2012 Grammy Awards look would’ve been perfect for this theme.

Kate Bosworth In Oscar de la Renta – 2018 Met Gala

The influence of the 2018 Met Gala’s ‘Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination’ theme wouldn’t be lost on Kate Bosworth on Monday (May 7) in New York City.

This diaphanous, gold-dusted Oscar de la Renta gown was beguiling simply by virtue of its fairy-like quality, as the actress floated onto the red carpet with the sweet innocence of porcelain doll makeup.

The pearl-embellished veil, of course, was the element that contributed to the evening’s M.O., with the undoubted bridal influences taking the look to another level.

Araya A. Hargate In Oscar de la Renta – Cannes 2018: Beyond The Red Carpet Event

Araya A. Hargate had me even more excited for Cannes, when she recently attended Cannes 2018: Beyond The Red Carpet at an event hosted by L’Officiel Thailand today (May 2) in Thailand.

This Oscar de la Renta Spring 2018 was a modern fairytale moment to be sure—with a twist.

With an intriguingly bold spirit, the in-your-face whimsy of the giant block letters introduced a new edge to the design house’s classic enchantment.

However, I also love how Araya maintained a sense of traditional elegance in her styling with her updo and traditional jewels.
