2017 MTV EMAs Red Carpet Roundup

While many will still be talking about Rita Ora’s double bathrobe moment at the 2017 MTV EMAs on Sunday (November 12) in London, there were plenty of other daring looks to likewise borrow some of the spotlight.

Leomie Anderson: I love how the model looked to vintage Vivienne Westwood inspiration in this Fall 1994 look. Her high ponytail and combat boots added another layer of sassy edge to the look that had plenty of modern edge.

Demi Lovato: Proving that plaid and a paper-bag waist can somehow maintain a sexy appeal, Demi worked the proportions of this Styland suit to her advantage. Giuseppe Zanotti plafforms were clearly necessary given the length of the pants, with Messika jewelry rounding out the look. If the super-long extensions get a pass, it’s only because of this being a MTV occasion.

Tallia Storm: Her Topshop ‘Cosmic Star’ embellished slip dress offered an accessible interpretation on red-carpet dressing. I can easily see the socks and platforms being a sticking point, however, they did bring funky appeal, with an Alexander McQueen clutch for a bit of overt British flavour to finish the look.

End Of The Week Red Carpet Roundup

There were so many looks this week, that we’re going to cram them into this final post.

Josephine De La Baume: Attending the ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ world premiere, the French actress opted to infuse her red carpet style with high-voltage seduction courtesy of this Self-Portrait devore mini dress from the Fall 2017 collection. I’m not usually a big fan of platform shoes, but I find myself buying what she’s selling as these Miu Miu Mary Janes add a playful vibe.

Martha Hunt: I love the fashion forward feel of this Off-White c/o Virgil Abloh black cropped blazer and sequin dress from the Fall 2017 collection with simple black pumps. Worn to the World of Children Awards, this was a truly intriguing look I have to say.

Ajak Deng: This saffron yellow Roksanda ‘Tamiko’ jumpsuit from the Fall 2017 collection gave me so much joy at the ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ world premiere. I love the relaxed nature of it all with the chunky heels adding a utilitarian flavour.

Pink In Off-White – The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

There was of course a musical element to Pink’s appearance on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ which aired in the US on Thursday (October 12).

She was there to promote her latest album, ‘Beautiful Trauma’ (released today), and she also performed a comedic “#FallSongs” sketch with The Roots band.

Living up to her rock chick persona, Pink wore an electric-blue Off-White Fall 2017 ruffled cut-out dress, which she styled with a slashed bandeau and over-the-knee boots.

Some might feel there is too much going on, but I love how she put her own stamp on this look and made it her own.

Rihanna is Instaglam in Off-White

Rihanna is two-for-two this week with her Instaglam moments. Going from softly feminine, to bad-gal edgy, she struck a serious pose before heading out into New York City.

Her Off-White Spring 2018 look successfully merged her current obsession with volume into a wearable, street-style-ready ensemble balanced by the casual denim jeans pairing. Her Off White c/o Jimmy Choo ‘Sara’ boots brought back a sense of rebellious glam to finish out the look.

This was pure Ri Ri, without a sense of try-hard or oversized excess.

There wasn’t much love for her last street-style look. What do you make of her latest effort?

All The Looks From Rita Ora’s ‘Anywhere’ Music Video Shoot

With a dizzying and dazzling array of wardrobe changes, Rita Ora whisked through eight ensembles while filming her new ‘Anywhere’ music video in New York City on Thursday (October 5). Although many of the looks had a distinctly ‘Rita’ aesthetic, it looks like the sartorial story was also inspired by ‘Sex and the City,’ which naturally created a host of even more memorably modish moments for the singer.

First up, the performer hit the NYC streets, but it was her high boots that did all the walking in this Off White Fall 2017 look that she translated straight from the runway. Electric-blue will always capture my affection, and that didn’t change here with this lush, velveteen coat-dress that was balanced by the quirkiness of the plaid footwear. Alexis Bittar earrings completed this enchanting-cool, fall look.
