‘Rough Night’ New York Premiere Red Carpet Roundup

Between Scarlett Johansson’s silver glitz, Demi Moore’s pastel plisse, and Zoe Kravitz’s red-haute jumpsuit, the dress code was an eclectic one at the ‘Rough Night’ premiere in New York on Monday (June 12). A few additional stars contributed more variety to the mix, too.

Jillian Bell: Channeling girly frill, Jillian wore a Marchesa Notte Pre-Fall 2017 floral-festooned frock that had a distinct sugary flavour. The silver metallic shoes were perhaps selected to add some edge but they didn’t exactly fit in.

Ty Burrell: Keeping it simple in a khaki-hued suit, Ty dressed for summer in an Ermenegildo Zegna Couture ensemble finished with the darker punch of a chocolate-brown tie and dress shoes.

Ilana Glazer: In theory, I appreciate Ilana’s bold approach with this Lanvin Spring 2017 look. But, in execution, it fell short with the deep plunge hitting at an awkward point and the creased pants falling a bit long.

Did you like any of these looks, or was it a rough fashion night for you?

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge In Marchesa Notte – The Opening Night Of ’42nd Street’

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge attended the opening night of ’42nd Street’ at the Theatre Royal on Tuesday (April 4) in London.

Still not ready to showcase her evening spring wardrobe, the Duchess wore a deep maroon Marchesa Notte tulle midi dress; coordinating her accessories, including Kate Spade New York ‘Pretty Poms’ tassel earrings, in the same hue.

I love the irresistibly feminine details and fairytale-like impression thanks to the embellished waistband and full-bodied skirt.

I just wish she opted for an updo or a ballerina bun.

Jennifer Lopez In Valentino & Marchesa Notte – American Idol XIV Top 12 Finalists Show & Party

Jennifer Lopez In Valentino & Marchesa Notte - American Idol XIV Top 12 Finalists Show & Party

‘American Idol XIV’ revealed the top 12 finalists in a live show that aired on Wednesday (March 11) in Hollywood, California.

Show: Picking up from where she left off last year, Jennifer Lopez continued to keep her looks short and sweet for the show, wearing a Valentino dress designed with all-over floral guipure lace that graced the simple silhouette with blooming overture. The thigh-grazing look was styled with matchy Versace shimmering orange sandals adding a decorative aura to her tonal look.

Finalist Party: There isn’t much positive I can say about Jennifer’s second Marchesa Notte Resort 2015 frock, with the length being the least of its worries. The sheer sleeves and gaudy embellishments are the worst offenders here, plus the styling is quite tragic, starting with the nude Casadei suede pumps. What really tops off this awful look is the makeup, with the foundation being a shade or two too light for the Latin star. In football (soccer) terms, this would be a straight red card.

‘Interstellar’ LA Premiere Red Carpet Roundup

'Interstellar' LA Premiere Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a roundup of a few more looks which hit the red carpet on Sunday evening (October 26) for the ‘Interstellar’ LA premiere held at TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX.

Jess Weixler: The actress, who’s gone from blonde to a deep jet-black hue, wore a Prada burgundy long-sleeved dress enriched with crystal and jet beaded embroidery, which she simply styled with Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals. This look is nice enough; perhaps it could’ve nipped in at the waist more, but I always want a bit more from her.

Tessa Thompson: The actress wore a Proenza Schouler cut-out tri-colour dress which is instantly recognisable for its unique design and woodgrain pattern from the Fall 2014 collection. Styled with a black Swarovski clutch, vintage ring and Monika Chiang ankle-strap pumps, this was one of the standout looks from this red carpet.

Mackenzie Foy: The adorable young actress wore a Marchesa Notte blush multi-layered cocktail dress with a bodice beautifully decorated with gold embroidery. Her styling, which included a side-swept braid and Loeffler Randall ‘Reina’ kitten heels, perfected this sweet and youthful red carpet look.

Channing Tatum In Gucci & Jenna Dewan-Tatum In Marchesa Notte – ‘Foxcatcher’ New York Film Festival Premiere

Channing Tatum In Gucci & Jenna Dewan-Tatum In Marchesa Notte - 'Foxcatcher' New York Film Festival Premiere

Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan-Tatum brought a double dose of hotness to the red carpet for the ‘Foxcatcher’ premiere during the 52nd New York Film Festival at Alice Tully Hall on Friday (October 10) in New York City.

Channing Tatum: While we eagerly await the July 1, 2015 scheduled release of Magic Mike XXL, the actor is currently promoting his latest movie, ‘Foxcatcher’, which has been generating Oscar buzz. Sticking to his favourite brand, Channing looked as handsome as ever wearing a Gucci Made to Order brown check notch-lapel ‘Dylan’ suit with a steel-blue shirt sans tie for a more laidback, yet still smart feel.

Jenna Dewan-Tatum: Mrs Tatum was Channing’s perfect plus one, looking gorgeous wearing a Marchesa Notte floral cocktail dress accented with a lace overlay which lends a romantic air to this design. This look proves once again that those ‘Nudist’ sandals work with just about anything and aren’t disappearing from the red carpet any time soon.

Marchesa Spring 2015 Front Row

Marchesa Spring 2015 Front Row

Celebrities gathered to celebrate red carpet queens Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig, who returned home to London to showcase their Marchesa Spring 2015 collection on the 10th anniversary of the brand.

Jena Malone: The ‘Hunger Games’ actress was perched in the front row wearing a distinctive Marchesa frock in a rich teal hue, deconstructed to create a gorgeous kilt dress rendered with 3D mohair thistle embroidery. I love her complementary eye makeup, which further emboldened the look along with her gold sparkling Louboutins.

Rita Ora: The singer ditched the red lip in favour of a deep-berry hue for her part-glamorous, part-I’m-not-sure-what’s-up-with-that-hairstyle look. She wore a Marchesa Spring 2011 blush-pink draped chiffon one-shoulder jumpsuit with black tassels on the train. The hair is too harsh for the look, but you have to – on some level – admire her for keeping things varied and interesting. She was asked by a reporter to name her favourite Marchesa red carpet look; having worn Marchesa four times previously to the Elle Style Awards, the BBC Radio One Teen Awards, the 2013 Glamour Woman of the Year Awards, and the 2012 EMAs, she said that the red embroidery and taffeta gown from the EMAs was her favourite look. When asked by the journalist where she had worn the look, Rita appeared to go blank and say “Ummm…”, at which point I interjected by saying “the MTV Awards”, to which she looked up at me with some confusion, then turned to the journalist and replied “Yeah, the EMAs”.
