Sheridan Smith In Nicholas Oakwell Couture – National Television Awards 2014

Sheridan Smith In Nicholas Oakwell Couture - National Television Awards 2014

BAFTA winning actress Sheridan Smith took to the red carpet at the 2014 National Television Awards at the O2 Arena in London yesterday evening (January 22).

Wearing a Nicholas Oakwell Couture floor-length dress and with her hair in a retro beehive, Sheridan looked quite the 60s starlet.

You may remember that we’ve seen Portia Freeman wear this same dress to the 2012 British Fashion Awards. The two ladies each put a their own unique spin on it.

Instead of following in Portia’s rockier model look, Sheridan turned this bronze and brown sequin column dress into an altogether more sophisticated get-up which was reminiscent of a retro movie heroine.

To finish the look, Sheridan chose a small black clutch and sky-high heels in order not to distract from the sleek hair and make-up, and of course, the stand-out dress.

I’m actually surprised by how covered up Sheridan is here, especially considering her height, but it works. It’s quirky and genuinely refreshing to see her try something different.

Jena Malone In Nicholas Oakwell Couture – ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ LA Premiere

Jena Malone In Nicholas Oakwell Couture - 'The Hunger Games Cathching Fire' LA Premiere

Jena Malone looked beautiful while attending the LA premiere of ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California on Monday evening.

Opting for yet another embellished, dramatic gown, the actress wore a Nicholas Oakwell Spring 2012 Couture gold ombre gown.

The gown is breathtaking in the long shot, but in the close up it doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do: create an illusion.

It’s a sexy take on the illusion trend, but when you see the seams in the close up that sex appeal is somewhat nullified.

Working the teenage brow, Jena was quite the golden girl, styling her look with a gold Jimmy Choo clutch and a gold manicure.

Do the obvious illusion panels bother you, or are you too blown away by this look to care?

The actress styled her stunning dress with Adler jewels, a sweeping updo and Manolo Blahnik heels.

The WGSN Global Fashion Awards

The WGSN Global Fashion Awards

The WGSN Global Fashion Awards, which recognise achievement in fashion and retail design on an international scale, took place at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London yesterday evening.

Winners on the night included Erdem Moralio?lu (Womenswear Designer), Acne (Menswear Design Team), Nicholas Kirkwood (Accessories and Footwear Designer) and Topshop (Best Multi-Channel Retailer).

Laura Whitmore: The Irish TV presenter wore a feather-festooned Nicholas Oakwell Spring 2012 Couture white-collared frock accented with a silver belt and silver pumps, opting to mix metals with a gold clutch which looked like it weighed a ton. You may remember that Tali Lennox wore this same dress back in May 2012.

Ella Catliff: ‘La Petite Anglaise’ blogger, and my seat mate for the evening, Ella wore a Nanette Lepore ‘Spaceship’ dress with a stunning vibrant floral print with leather insets. Not afraid to mix prints, she added a leopard-print clutch to her look. Loved that matte-red lip.

Amber Le Bon: The model wowed in an Ermanno Scervino white embroidered gown with a floor-sweeping train which couldn’t have been a more fitting look for the elegant model. With her hair teased into a top knot to showcase those dazzling earrings, she styled the rest of her look with a white Stark clutch with gold hardware and a dark manicure.

Front Row @ Nicholas Oakwell Fall 2013 Couture

Natalie Dormer in Nicholas Oakwell Couture

On Thursday afternoon, Nicholas Oakwell presented his Fall 2013 Couture collection at the Ballroom at Claridges in London ahead of the official Couture week calendar. Before the show, he posed alongside his celebrity guests Gemma Chan and Natalie Dormer.

Gemma Chan: The British actress wore a beautiful nude embellished pleated frock from the designer’s Spring 2013 Couture collection which was accented with a silver metal belt and white Ferragamo pumps. This is such a pretty look, which she accessorized perfectly.

Natalie Dormer: The ‘Game of Thrones’ actress opted for a sleek navy-blue suit with split sleeves from the same collection, which she styled with a slicked-back ‘do, platform shoes, sapphire-stone earrings and a stingray clutch. This look may feel like a Fall look; however, the moody blue was a perfect choice considering the downpour we had yesterday afternoon.

Stana Katic In Nicholas Oakwell Couture – 2013 Billboard Music Awards

Stana Katic In Nicholas Oakwell Couture - 2013 Billboard Music Awards
When ‘Castle’ actress Stana Katic took to the blue carpet at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, my first reflection was disco diva.

Then, I thought: Pop star Cheryl Cole definitely has a doppelgänger tonight.

Like Miley Cyrus, the statuesque Stana strutted out our second jumpsuit of the evening in this Nicholas Oakwell Spring 2013 Couture design.

The funky white and metallic embellished suit, featuring a plunging neckline and a silver honeycomb belt, had ‘Saturday Night Fever’ written all over it.

The Canadian star ratcheted up the volume of this retro redux even more with big—very big—blown-out hair and a smokey eye.

It was all bordering on a bit much. But that aside, my favourite part of the look was Stana’s stacks of chunky eye candy, with her statement rings that cluttered both hands.

Helen Mirren In Nicholas Oakwell Couture – 2013 BAFTA Awards

Helen Mirren In Nicholas Oakwell Couture - 2013 BAFTA AwardsDame Helen Mirren joined the ranks of hair chameleon Katy Perry and lavender-loving Kelly Osbourne with her shocking new ‘do, which she debuted at the 2013 BAFTA Awards on Sunday at the Royal Opera House in London, England.

To go with her hair, the Leading Actress nominee chose a long-sleeve gown from the Nicholas Oakwell Spring 2013 Couture runway.

Featuring floral embroidery, the chiffon dress was somewhat weighed down with its heavy lining and that shiny silver wrap. But at least she didn’t up her BAFTAs surprise factor even more by wearing the gown in its original, see-through runway incarnation.

It didn’t really matter what she had on, though, as her cotton-candy pixie cut was the main attraction.

She quoted ‘America’s Next Top Model’ as her inspiration behind the hair hue. My jaw is still on the floor.

Known for her classic grace on the red carpet, this was quite the scandalous departure for Helen.

She certainly gave the fellow Nicholas-Oakwell-outfitted Paloma Faith a run for her money in the hair department.
