Melonie Diaz In Vintage Moschino – ‘Fruitvale Station’ Cannes Film Festival Photocall

Melonie Diaz joined her co-star Octavia Spencer at the Palais des Festivals in France this afternoon for the ‘Fruitvale Station’ photocall during Cannes Film Festival.

The New Yorker selected a pretty vintage Moschino black-and-gold polka-dot drop-waist dress with a pleated skirt and white collar and cuffs.

This dress may suggest that she is younger than her 25 years, but considering we’ve seen Couture and Balmain worn to photocalls earlier today, I love the relaxed styling of her look and the flash of colour via her hot-pink lips.

Met Gala 2013 Roundup

Here is a roundup of the rest of the ladies who took to the red carpet for the 2013 Met Gala on Monday evening. Models @ The Met post will follow.

Brooklyn Decker: The actress wore a custom Peter Pilotto look inspired by the Spring 2013 collection. While the look is custom I feel like I have seen this look several times before, so there is nothing fresh or new about it, unlike other custom looks as showcased by Karolina Kurkova and several others. Her Sergio Rossi ‘Hypnos’ sandals, however, are a work of art.

Alicia Keys: The singer took to the red carpet wearing a custom Jason Wu gown. Her black leather and bordeaux sequin embroidered halter gown is beautiful, but I wish Alicia had pushed the punk vibe with the styling a bit more; the red streaks in her hair aren’t enough for me, especially when we know Alicia isn’t afraid of taking a fashion risk. Robert Lee Morris jewels and a vintage clutch completed her look.

Maggie Gyllenhaal: The actress wore a beautiful custom Calvin Klein scarlet gown for the occasion which was punked up as far as she would go with a studded choker and a Tod’s black studded clutch with a gold frame. While I do love this look, I wish Maggie had gone bra shopping before this event.

Lily Collins In Moschino – 2013 Met Gala

Lily Collins made quite a statement in her Moschino look at the Met Gala.

I can only say, be careful what you wish for! Here everyone has been complaining about such a total lack of punk styling by many of the Met Gala’s guests, and here you have someone really going for it. I think.

Part of me thinks that Lily’s look is much more witchy than punk, but she’s definitely committed to her look.

While I can’t see the entire gown, I’m thinking maybe she should have work it alone, rather than pairing it with this outrageous sequin and flying-heart adorned jacket, because the two together is what we call ‘a lot of look’.

Then, when you add the blue streaked hair and the extreme eye makeup, it really is a lot to try to take in. But, if you really just focus on the young star’s face, she looks beautiful. I’m thinking the hair and makeup are keepers and should have been paired with a less heavy dress.

Am I being too harsh on someone finally going for the punk theme, or do you agree that this is just too much all together?

Kylie Minogue In Moschino – 2013 Met Gala

Kylie Minogue wore Moschino as she strutted her radiant self down the Met Gala‘s red carpet.

It’s fairly obvious that Kylie isn’t even trying for a punk look, but her black and white gown is lovely, and Kylie would look good in a paper sack.

Her gold earrings and tortoise shell bangles are an unusual choice to be paired with this dress, but I really love the look. I think most women would have gone for platinum and diamonds, but Kylie is working her out-of-the-norm accessories.

Her bouncy curls, smokey eyes and glossy nude lips are the perfect makeup for any red carpet look.

Nieves Alvarez In Moschino & Escada – Solo Moda

Nieves Alvarez was back hosting her fashion show, Solo Moda, this weekend.

On Saturday, she wore looks from the Moschino Spring 2013 collection.

Her first orange-and-white frock looks like a saucy apron. Even with those orange Louboutins I can’t find this look appealing.

I do, however, love her second look, a striking blue-and-white striped top and skirt. The fresh nautical stripes are given a modern twist with a pair of orange Jimmy Choo ‘Taste’ sandals.

A lace LBD with tulle-accented shoulders is yet another sultry look. The silver embellished Moschino ankle boots unfortunately weigh the look down for me.

Pixie Lott In Moschino – Panasonic Technics ‘Shop To The Beat’ Party

Pixie Lott was spotted out with her boyfriend attending the Panasonic Technics ‘Shop To The Beat’ Party hosted by George Lamb at French Connection in Oxford Circus in London yesterday evening.

She wore a Moschino look which featured a textured woven three-quarter-length-sleeve jacket with bow-front details with button accents.

Keeping the Moschino love going, she wore black cropped pants with a white tartan-check pattern, to which she added a pop of colour via her Moschino bucket bag, which is a reinterpretation of the label’s classic designs with the gold-tone Moschino lettering.

Black loafers and a black headband – which is becoming her trademark – completed her look.
