2018 CFDA Fashion Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a roundup of some of the other attendees at the 2018 CFDA Fashion Awards on Monday (June 4) held at the Brooklyn Museum in New York City, joining Cate Blanchett, Kim Kardashian, Sarah Paulson and many more.

Nina Dobrev: I really wanted more from Nina. More colour, more magic, more wow and something unexpected. I feel like we’ve seen this Zac Posen dress a thousand times.

Whoopi Goldberg: Do not adjust your sets, this is Whoopi wearing a hot pink in Christian Siriano Spring 2018 suit with a matching hat that wouldn’t look out of place at the Kentucky Derby. Even if you don’t like the fit or the comfortable shoes, at least this is guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

Ciara In Monse – 2018 CFDA Fashion Awards

Ciara accompanied shoe designer Paul Andrew to the 2018 CFDA Fashion Awards on Monday (June 4) held at the Brooklyn Museum in New York City.

Monse are the masters of modern pieces that are bold and feminine, but this deconstructed tuxedo dress with a shirt-tail hem didn’t work for me.

I’m not sure if it’s the pose, the dress – despite being intriguing and unique in its design – or the boobage, but I failed to get on board with this look.

Cate Blanchett In Monse – 2018 CFDA Fashion Awards

Cate Blanchett joined her ‘Ocean’s 8’ co-star Sarah Paulson on the red carpet for the 2018 CFDA Fashion Awards on Monday (June 4) at the Brooklyn Museum in New York City.

The actress has been mildly obsessed by suits at the moment, and this Monse Fall 2018 look sees her still work a Le Smoking vibe with a modern twist.

Punctuated by silver sequins, I like how this straddles glamour and menswear-inspired tailoring.

Styling wise, I do prefer the more relaxed feel from the lookbook, but Cate being Cate; she made this her own.

Mandy Moore In Max Mara & Monse – Entertainment Weekly & People New York Upfronts & 2018 The Paley Honors

Mandy Moore showed some leg at the Entertainment Weekly & People New York Upfronts on Monday (May 14) in New York and at the 2018 The Paley Honors on Tuesday (May 15).

Entertainment Weekly & People New York Upfronts: The ‘This Is Us’ actress demonstrated the seductive side of tailoring in Max Mara with Stuart Weitzman shoes. The blazer dress revealed tanned pins and chest, juxtaposing the boxier fit of the piece. Minimal styling presented a crisp finish.

2018 The Paley Honors: This time, the asymmetrical hemline of her Monse dress provided the allure. It too was all about balance as the swirling skirt brought a flirtier finish to the more modest top. A Tyler Ellis bag and Casadei shoes enlivened the inky style. Carrying a clutch would have had more impact as the bag is sometimes lost, like the cutout back.

Swarovski’s Times Square Opening Celebration

Swarovski’s Times Square opening celebration on Thursday (April 12) brought out the beauties to watch an official ribbon cutting ceremony with brand ambassador, Karlie Kloss, followed by a Times Square-inspired celebration at Hudson Mercantile.

Karlie Kloss: The supermodel had a girly moment in a cotton candy pink Alex Perry dress. The pastel colour and frills were tempered by the low neckline and Saint Laurent blazer draped over her shoulders. Swarovski jewels added some sparkle.

Selita Ebanks: Embracing bold patterns, the Cayman beauty was clad in a Monse Spring 2018 suit. She opted to style it sans shirt with the sensual plunging neckline counteracting the menswear-inspired oversized check. Taking allowances for the oversized fit, it’s a shame the finish isn’t crisper as the pieces have a sagging effect, making them lose their tailored sharpness. Even just hemming the pants would have made such a difference.

Morena Baccarin: The ‘Gotham’ actress also embraced pattern with a Self-Portrait crochet pleated dress. The top has a mesmerizing intricate finish. It’s juxtaposed with the graphic print on the skirt. Some might find the combination disjointed. I think it could have succeeded but the too-long hem is literally bringing the ensemble down. It could also have done without the slit.

Mila Kunis In Monse – The Ellen DeGeneres Show

Mila Kunis was joined by her ‘The Spy Who Dumped Me’ co star Kate McKinnon on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ on Wednesday (March 21), where they promoted their upcoming summer comedy.

Mila Kunis: I can’t remember a time when Mila wasn’t wearing a LBD, so I was delighted she put on her signature on pause to opt for a sporty punch courtesy of Monse. I love how the asymmetric racing stripes and cut-out shoulders add an extra impact and how easy the look feels. I know many of you will never co-sign on the track pants and heels combo, but I love the fresh appeal here.

Kate McKinnon: By contrast, Kate was all business in her two and blouse combo. But I did love her pearl-accented heels.
