2018 Critics’ Choice Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Following the 2018 Golden Globes black dress code, the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards on Thursday (January 11) showcased a range of colours, styles and designers.

Reese Witherspoon: The actress’s most memorable looks often have bold colours, so I was surprised she opted for a black Prada dress. That being said, I thought the short length really worked for her, with the embellishment adding some vicariousness. The Roger Vivier shoes enhanced the playful mood.

Emma Roberts: Her choppy blonde fringe was certainly a talking point, but the elegant simplicity of her Giorgio Armani gown didn’t go unnoticed. The strapless column fit perfectly. She styled it in a very modern way with the gold-toned accessories and by leaving the neckline bare.

Emilia Clarke: Like Reese, the ‘Game of Thrones’ star opted for a shorter black dress. She wore a Dolce & Gabbana frock with Gianvito Rossi sandals. I would have loved to see the look completed with a red lip as it would have added some warmth while playing up the brand’s Italian film star aesthetic.

Sadie Sink In Miu Miu – 2018 Golden Globe Awards

Sadie Sink was also in attendance at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 7) in Beverly Hills, California.

The ‘Stranger Things’ actress cut a sweet profile in her darling Miu Miu frock with its ankle-length, voluminous ball skirt.

I love that she wore a black ribbon to tie her ponytail, echoing the velvet one at her waist.

As the dress was devoid of embellishment, her Miu Miu shoes plus a range of Chopard jewels offered plenty of sparkle.

I do believe the young starlet could have gotten away with a few less jewels, as they seemed a bit mature for her. But, I can only imagine she is having such fun wearing them tonight.

Florence Pugh In Miu Miu – British Independent Film Awards 2017

The British Independent Film Awards took place on Sunday (December 10) on Old Billingsgate in London, with Florence Pugh in attendance.

I’ve never been shy about expressing my feelings about Miu Miu red carpet gowns, but this bronzed-gold tulle gown ticks all the right boxes from the fabric to the gentle smattering of embellishments.

I love how the fairytale nature is tempered by the smoldering eye makeup. I almost wouldn’t be surprised if she was wearing chunky boot under her gown, as I sense a shimmering rebellious vibe here.

L’Oreal Paris Women of Worth Celebration

The L’Oreal Paris Women of Worth Celebration took place in New York on Wednesday (December 6) with plenty of familiar faces for the beauty brand, alongside the newest ambassador, Camila Cabello.

Elle Fanning: Some might be longing for some colour, but the love wintery vibe of Elle’s Miu Miu Spring 2018 patterned dress with festive miniature baubles and snow-like wool accents adding a cute twist to this playful piece. The look was styled with Erdem x H&M earrings and Miu Miu pumps

Camila Cabello: The young singer is still experimenting when it comes to her style, however, my feeling is this style of look is way too mature. I would’ve adored this on Helen Mirren, but it doesn’t work for the youngster. Narcisa Pheres earrings rounded out her look.

The Teen Vogue Summit LA: Keynote Conversation

A number of starlets turned out for the Teen Vogue Summit LA: Keynote Conversation with ‘A Wrinkle In Time’ director Ava Duvernay and actresses Storm Reid and Rowan Blanchard on Saturday (December 2) in Playa Vista, California.

Storm Reid: The 14-year-old PYT had fun with shimmery fringe in a JI OH Spring 2017 dress with white booties. But, I was most interested in her beautiful curls.

Yara Shahidi: I like that Yara introduced this zesty lime-green hue into her 3.1 Phillip Lim ensemble with the on-trend, navy paper-bag waist trousers.

Elaine Welteroth: Also channeling the retro flair of white boots, Elaine put a funky twist on the pink primness of her Proenza Schouler Spring 2018 wrap dress which Ana de Armas previously has worn. As with Storm, I was more focused on her hair, which made the look more striking as a result.

Margot Robbie In Miu Miu – Indie Contenders Roundtable

Margot Robbie joined Diane Kruger at the Indie Contenders Roundtable on Sunday (November 12) in Hollywood, California.

The actress gave her red plaid Miu Miu Spring 2018 dress a grunge undertone by layering it over a white tank top. Chunky black platforms added more edge.

I love how she made the look her own and how it contrasts the version seen on the runway. It also suits the darker mood she has been projecting with other ensembles lately.

The only thing that lets the outfit down slightly for me is that I wish the frock was shortened a few inches, like the original version.

Do you like the way she styled the dress?
