Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Fashion Star 1

A collection of other haute guests joined Miley Cyrus and Alexa Chung at the 30th Annual Night of Stars, presented by Fashion Group International, held yesterday at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City. Here, a look at their statement-making entrances.

Zoe Kravitz: The starlet assured us that the cropped top trend is still alive and kicking with an Alexander Wang ensemble featuring a reptilian-embossed bralette and high-waisted long skirt. With such a strong, skin-baring moment, I would have preferred to see slightly more understated styling, rather than her braided updo and supremely smokey eye.

Joan Smalls: The model posed in a plunging Alexander Wang tuxedo halter jumpsuit that balanced a carefree and come-hither attitude with its daring lines, yet sporty dropped waist and pockets. She topped it off with wavy ponytail and and a pair of metallic-laced cage sandals.

Taylor Schilling: Working a Zuhair Murad white frock, embellished with black stencil flowers, the ‘Orange is the New Black’ star stayed far away from her character’s colours. She did add a punch via a forest-green Vince Camuto clutch and a magenta lip, finishing the ensemble with Nancy Newberg jewels and Kurt Geiger ankle-strap sandals.

Caroline Flack In M Missoni & ASOS - X Factor Press Launch

Caroline Flack attended The X Factor press launch at The Mayfair Hotel in London earlier today alongside Nicole Scherzinger.

The British TV hostess stuck to a very familiar silhouette wearing an ASOS patterned black-and-white Dogtooth mini skirt with an exposed zip which I can imagine, without trying to be vulgar, only just covers her derrière.

She has great legs, don’t get me wrong, but the skirt is way too short, plus she’s wearing a semi-sheer M Missoni turtleneck top which reveals her bra.

On the plus side, her hair is much improved from her last outing.

You can buy Caroline’s ASOS Dogtooth mini skirt from ASOS US, ASOS UK and ASOS International.

Amanda Seyfried In Missoni - Meet The Actor

Amanda Seyfried attended a ‘Meet The Actor’ event held at the Apple Store, Regent Street in London yesterday evening where she discussed her latest movie, ‘Lovelace’.

The actress selected a sunflower-yellow Missoni Resort 2014 sleeveless shirt dress with embroidered details.

Her summery frock was styled with contrasting bright-red Brian Atwood ‘Cassandra’ pumps and silver jewels.

Thankfully, she banished the schoolmarm hairdo in favour of simple sleek, straight tresses, with a pink lip colour completing the look.

Allison Williams In Matthew Williamson & Missoni - 18th Annual Nantucket Film Festival2

Allison Williams attended the 18th Annual Nantucket Film Festival on Saturday in Nantucket, Massachusetts wearing two different frocks, one pair of pumps and one familiar hairstyle.

First up was a Matthew Williamson paneled floral brocade blue-and-green dress, with a red Missoni printed frock to follow.

The first look is very typical of Allison. I feel like I have seen her in this style of dress many times before.

The red pleated knit Missoni dress is far more interesting, mostly because it’s a step out of her floral-printed-sheath comfort zone.

While both looks are event appropriate, I would love to see Allison step out of her comfort zone every now and then.

Rita Ora In Missoni - Royal Cafe

Rita Ora was spotted outside the Royal Cafe in London last night where she attended the AnOther Magazine and Dazed & Confused party following her front-row appearance at the Burberry Fall 2013 show.

The singer wore a Missoni Resort 2013 ensemble which incorporated my two loves: colour and print.

Featuring the brands signature zig-zag print, Rita’s grey coat and pants with an orange ombre hue were teamed with a cropped coral long-sleeved wool top which gave her look a sultry, sexy vibe.

After opting for a nude lip colour earlier in the day, her signature red lippie was back for her evening look.

W Magazine Golden Globe Party

Here are the rest of the looks from W Magazine’s celebration of the Golden Globes, held at the Chateau Marmont in California last night. It appears the dress code for the evening was wear something blue or gold.

Jennifer Lawrence: Feeling like our prayers have finally been answered, the ‘Silver Lining Playbook’ actress wore her second non-black look in a row. Looking more like the fresh-faced bubbly young actress we fell in love with this time last year, she wore an ocean-blue Victoria Beckham fitted dress with slash details on the shoulders. Opting for conservative accessories she carried a gold clutch wore black peep-toes heels and added Sylva & Cie jewels.

Frieda Pinto: The Indian beauty also opted for a striking oceanic colour wearing a blue sleeveless Missoni dress with a flared skirt and brocade panels. Her Roger Vivier black satin peep-toes with an turquoise feather accents managed to upstage her gorgeous dress.

Kerry Washington: Fresh off her successful ‘Django Unchained’ promo tour, Kerry didn’t slouch in the style stakes upon her return to LA. Dressed in a printed Stella McCartney jumpsuit the look was styled with bright-blue pieces including a Reed Krakoff blazer and an electric-blue Roger Vivier clutch.

Jena Malone: With a big-budget movie to promote this year, Jena kick started her year wearing a fanciful printed frock from the Bibhu Mohapatra Spring 2013 collection. Jerome C. Rousseau ‘Orner’ black suede strappy sandals and a gold clutch accessorized her look, with a hot-pink lip colour and cat-eyes providing the finishing touches.
