Yesterday I was invited to by the Miss Selfridge team to view Yasmin Yusuf’s vintage collection.
The Creative Director for Miss Selfridge has a vast collection of vintage pieces from around the world which her design team uses as inspiration for Miss Selfridge collections.
The collections are also inspired by the current trends, but with vintage references giving them a unique fresh touch.
As someone who can spend a whole day in vintage stores looking at every piece, I was in vintage heaven.
Deliciously over-the-top embellishments, quirky details with feathered hemline and feathers cuffs plus exotic colour palettes. What more could a girl ask for?
The collection starts from very early Victorian times up the 80s.
I loved how the collection was presented together to represent its eras.
High-neckline long sleeved Victorian dresses and blouses. 60s shift dresses. Neon and sequined dresses from the 80s.
Looking through the collection I can now see why embellished dresses are a key part of many Miss Selfridge collections.
My favourite dress was one of the cream heavily embellished dresses with padded shoulders plus the orange dress with the feathered hem, and I also loved the Carrie-esqe dresses with the large corsages on the shoulder.
