Amy Adams In Zuhair Murad Couture & Max Mara – The EE British Academy Film Awards Nominees Party

Fresh from her flight from LA, American Hustle star Amy Adams added a touch of understated sophistication to the red carpet last night (February 15) at the EE British Academy Film Award Nominees party held at Asprey London.

Having seriously wowed with a series of colourful gowns such as her blue Antonio Berardi number at the 2014 SAG Awards, Amy’s Zuhair Murad Spring 2014 Couture lace midi dress with a cashmere Max Mara coat was a slightly surprising understated choice.

It may not be a high impact look but this really is quite beautiful.

The way the coat emphasises her slim waist and the demure hemline and delicate drop earrings all help create an elegant and refined ladylike look.

Gold Christian Louboutin heels add a sexy touch and Amy’s smokey eye adds edge.

While I think this is perfect for the event I do really hope Amy has something slightly more impactful for tonight’s BAFTA awards ceremony.

Solange Knowles NYFW

The usual suspects have been spotted front row at shows during New York Fashion Week but one girl has stood out, managing to look effortless and stylish as she hopped from show to show wearing fancy footwear, avoiding snow boots at all costs.

Noor by Noor: In her Pre-Fall 2014 outfit, the singer layered a blue printed sweater over a striped shirt, opting for a conservative black skirt, with standout Michael Kors ‘Sahar’ pumps and a chic white Kate Spade New York ‘Georgica Road Emmanuelle’ clutch rounding out her look.

Milly: I had to catch my breath when I saw this look. It might be too bold for some but I’m buying everything she’s selling here, from the electric-blue Milly coat and matching faux-fur-trimmed clutch to the orange separates and pink Rupert Sanderson ‘Elba’ pumps that matched her lip colour. I think I even prefer this look over her Carven outfit.

Honor: Turning down the dial on colour, the singer wore an Honor look consisting of a sheer blouse, black collarless blazer and printed double-split skirt, styled with terracotta Rupert Sanderson ‘Elba’ pumps and an M2Malletier ‘Amor Fati’ leather shoulder bag with a gold needle handle.

Meryl Streep In Max Mara - 86th Academy Awards Nominees Luncheon

Meryl Streep attended the 86th Oscars Nominee Luncheon at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Monday (February 10) in Beverly Hills, California.

We all love Meryl, she’s a great actress, but this blog is about fashion and as much as I try, I can’t get excited about her style.

Even though she’s wearing a pretty Max Mara pink-and-red printed dress, which I must stress is a huge departure for her usually drab red carpet looks, the styling lets her down.

The red Jimmy Choo ‘Luna’ peep-toes are perfect, but the Clare Vivier monogrammed clutch was a bizarre choice to say the least.

File this under so close.

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Sportmax S14 – 4th Annual Plates for Pediatrics Dinner

Max Mara sponsored the fourth annual Plates for Pediatrics dinner benefitting The Komansky Center for Children’s Health at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, held at The St. Regis in New York on Thursday (January 30).

The evening was co-chaired by TK, with honorary chairman Maggie Gyllenhaal who was decked out by the sponsor.

Sporting a shorter version of her signature cropped ‘do, Maggie wore a Sportmax pink-and-black silk polka-dot camisole and pants, which she styled with simple black suede pumps, gold jewels and a fuchsia lip.

I love the fun-spirited nature of the look, but it feels a bit oversized, like she needed to go one size down.

Tess Daly In Max Mara - National Television Awards 2014

Tess Daly made a sartorial impact on the red carpet of the National Television Awards 2014 last night (January 22) held at the O2 in London.

The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ host opted for chic wide-leg jumpsuit with gold-trimmed waist belt by Max Mara.

With a black blazer coolly slung over her shoulders, this was a stand-out look that ticked all the right boxes for me.

Choosing a gold pair of Gianvito Rossi pumps and silver Wilber & Gussie clutch, Tess ensured her look had edge while ensuring the styling wasn’t overly complicated.  This is actually a look I can imagine a Hollywood A-lister sporting so bravo Tess, what a great look.

To finish, the former model opted for an orangey red lip and glossy waved hair to keep the look understated and luxurious.
