Comic-Con 2015 Red Carpet Roundup

Comic con roundup
The star-studded Comic-Con 2015 weekend brought out a host of other bold names for the range of parties and panel discussions in San Diego, California.

Natalie Dormer: Attending the Screen Gems panel, the ‘Game of Thrones’ actress wore a Mary Katrantzou lamur guipure lace and jacquard midi dress with blue-green embroidered accents. I like how her ponytail adds a fresh, breezy note to this darker look, but I have no words for the shoes that should have been a simple black or blue sandal if nothing else. You may remember that Shailene Woodley wore the same dress a few months ago.

Sarah Paulson: Fusing femininity with structure, this Suno cutout flared black dress was a successful look for Sarah at the Entertainment Weekly Comic-Con 2015 party. I was equally delighted to see her step outside the plain-black box with accessories including a silver Edie Parker clutch and silver Aldo shoes.

Kate Mara: Also joining the dark colour parade, Kate wore an embellished Valentino Fall 2015 design at the 20th Century Fox panel discussion. She let the mini dress shine all on its own with only minimal styling including a simple pair of black sandals and a few beaded bracelets, which I would argue were unnecessary too.

amfAR Paris Red Carpet Roundup

amfar paris

There were many more celebs who joined Rosie Huntington-Whiteley on the red carpet for the amfAR dinner, hosted at the Pavilion LeDoyen during Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture on Sunday (July 5) in Paris, France.

Karlie Kloss: The model went from runway to red carpet without skipping a beat, wearing the same finale look from the Atelier Versace Fall 2015 collection which she presented. A smoothless transition if I ever saw one.

Olivia Palermo: When it came to Olivia’s marigold Dior look, the word smooth was nowhere in the equation. The words crumpled, creased, needed-a-steam spring to mind. Creases aside, this is such a harsh colour for Olivia and not a flattering style.

Taylor Schilling In Mary Katrantzou & Philosophy – ‘The Overnight’ New York Premiere

Taylor Schilling In Mary Katrantzou & Philosophy - 'The Overnight' New York Premiere

Taylor Schilling attended ‘The Overnight’ New York premiere at Landmark’s Sunshine Cinema on Thursday (June 18) in New York City.

The ‘Orange Is The New Black’ actress wore a Mary Katrantzou Fall 2015 bustier with black Philosophy tapered trousers.

I love how this look marries finesse with a contemporary edge, as the bustier injects a cool feminine structure to this outfit.

The only thing I would ditch here is the pink Corto Moltedo clutch which attempts to derail the contemporary edge.

Cara Delevingne In Mary Katrantzou, Jenny Packham & Elie Saab – ‘Paper Towns’ Berlin & Paris Photocalls

Cara Delevingne In Mary Katrantzou & Elie Saab - 'Paper Towns' Berlin & Paris Photocall

Cara Delevingne—and her legs—attended the ‘Paper Towns’ Berlin photocall at Zoo Palast in Germany on Tuesday (June 16) before jet-setting to the Paris photocall the next day on the Champs De Mars in France.

Berlin Photocall: The model-turned-actress rocked a Mary Katrantzou Pre-Fall 2015 design, which straddled the seasons with its fall selection of colours and velvety embroidery in combination with the summery, mini length. I did love the spirited flair of the look, what with the exploded yellow houndstooth patterning and her dramatic complementary maroon lip.

: Returning to the power short that we likewise saw at the Madrid photocall, she paired an sparkling sequin-embellished, semi-sheer Jenny Packham Fall 2015 top and black Elie Saab shorts for a casual-glam fusion. Vita Fede jewelry, Nicholas Kirkwood ‘Hutton’ strappy pumps, and a topknot completed the Parisian-chic look.

Michelle Obama In Mary Katrantzou & Christopher Kane – ‘Let Girls Learn Initiative’ & Downing Street Visit

Michelle Obama In Mary Katrantzou & Christopher Kane - 'Let Girls Learn Initiative' & Downing Street Visit

Michelle Obama made two stops on Tuesday (June 16) in London, England, first attending a meeting for the ‘Let Girls Learn Initiative’ at the Mulberry School for Girls before heading to 10 Downing Street for a visit.

‘Let Girls Learn Initiative’: The First Lady brought a bold splash to the meeting in her custom Mary Katrantzou Pre-Fall 2015 printed frock. Plain black pumps ensured all focus was on the dress, with a bouquet of flowers coincidentally bringing a lovely final touch to her look.

Downing Street Visit: Changing into a Christopher Kane custom-embroidered floral sticker dress, inspired by the Pre-Fall 2015 Collection, she maintained her colourful outlook that was unfortunately not similarly reflected in her black Jimmy Choo ‘Mei’ pumps.

Of the two looks, I preferred her first, as the adorable Christopher Kane frock echoed her London arrival look in that it landed a bit too far on the twee side for me.
