Marvel Studios’ ‘Black Panther’ Global Junket Press Conference

After the world premiere, the stars of Marvel Studios’ ‘Black Panther’ continued the promo tour with a global junket press conference on Tuesday (January 30) in Beverly Hills, California.

Angela Bassett: Following her glowing fringe moment, the actress switched gears with this Dent de Man Spring 2016 suit from the label named for a mountain in West Africa’s Ivory Coast. This bit of relevance, combined with what was a bold translation of traditional menswear in an all-over batik print, made for such an impactful look.

Danai Gurira: I loved Danai’s world premiere entrance, and even though this Altuzarra Pre-Fall 2018 dress was far more subtle, it was lovely for a press conference. I like the slight fit-and-flare shape as well as the tonal bustier structure to add sophisticated allure to the design.

Lupita Nyong’o: Also offering up a patterned ensemble that took a completely different direction from her regal premiere gown, Lupita looked to the signature prints of designer Mary Katrantzou. The flirty silhouette of this Spring 2018 frock, with its shorter length and kick pleats, offered a sense of youthful exuberance—although it could also be called a bit twee, too. Did you miss the belt?

Kelly Marie Tran In Mary Katrantzou – 2018 SAG Awards

Kelly Marie Tran made a blooming beautiful statement at the 2018 SAG Awards on Sunday (January 21) in Los Angeles, where she joined Lupita Nyong’o and Halle Berry.

The ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ actress was clad in a Mary Katrantzou Resort 2018 gown.

The colourful style speaks to the designer’s mastery of prints with it mixing various flowers for a dynamic effect.

With such a striking fabric, many would have gone with understated accessories, but I appreciated how she balanced the boldness with statement Chopard jewels.

2018 Critics’ Choice Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Following the 2018 Golden Globes black dress code, the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards on Thursday (January 11) showcased a range of colours, styles and designers.

Reese Witherspoon: The actress’s most memorable looks often have bold colours, so I was surprised she opted for a black Prada dress. That being said, I thought the short length really worked for her, with the embellishment adding some vicariousness. The Roger Vivier shoes enhanced the playful mood.

Emma Roberts: Her choppy blonde fringe was certainly a talking point, but the elegant simplicity of her Giorgio Armani gown didn’t go unnoticed. The strapless column fit perfectly. She styled it in a very modern way with the gold-toned accessories and by leaving the neckline bare.

Emilia Clarke: Like Reese, the ‘Game of Thrones’ star opted for a shorter black dress. She wore a Dolce & Gabbana frock with Gianvito Rossi sandals. I would have loved to see the look completed with a red lip as it would have added some warmth while playing up the brand’s Italian film star aesthetic.

Zendaya Coleman In Giuseppe di Morabito, Mary Katrantzou & Stella Jean – ‘The Greatest Showman’ New York Promo Tour

Fresh off her Best Dressed of the Week nod, Zendaya Coleman continued her New York promo tour in high style for ‘The Greatest Showman’ with a trio of dazzling looks on Monday (December 11) whilst stopping by ‘The Today Show’ and ‘Live With Kelly & Ryan.’

‘The Today Show’ Arrival
: Who needs diamonds for breakfast when you can have 24 karat gold. Zendaya proved that it’s never too early to have a metallic moment in this Giuseppe di Morabito trench coat. I like how the embossed details added a depth to the design, with a matching Bienen-Davis brocade kit bag to complete the golden look.

‘The Today Show’ Departure: This Mary Katrantzou Spring 2018 ensemble was happiness in an outfit, as there was so much lively vivacious tied up in the retro-ruffled hem and dotted design—which immediately reminded me of a Yayoi Kusama art installation. I didn’t quite understand the white Casadei ‘Blade’ pumps with this bold medley of bright orange—until I saw her next look.

‘Live With Kelly & Ryan’ Show: Those pumps came suitably into play for this Stella Jean Spring 2018 look that was equally jovial and inspiring. I love the mix of the off-the-shoulder, mannish pinstripes with the saturated ombre, abstract shades of the feminine wrap-tie, high-waist skirt. It was an effortless-chic balance of daytime-sultry sophistication.

3rd Annual InStyle Awards Red Carpet Roundup

The 3rd Annual InStyle Awards on Monday (October 23) in Los Angeles, California brought out numerous stylish ladies donning their most head-turning ensembles.

Angela Sarafyan: The ‘Westworld’ actress put a darker twist on a princess silhouette in a Georges Chakra Fall 2017 Couture gown. The black trim and the darker tulle layers lent an edginess to the full skirt. An Edie Parker ‘Jean’ clutch and Chloe Gosselin ‘Narcissus’ sandals played up the moody vibe.

Demi Lovato: Bringing a sultry elegance to a lavender Alice + Olivia Spring 2018 gown, the ‘Sorry Not Sorry’ singer toughened up the slip dress with a white studded belt and Leticia Linton ring. If I have to nitpick, I would have liked to see the dress a few inches shorter and a more formal belt.

Danai Gurira In Mary Katrantzou – ‘The Walking Dead’ 100th Episode Premiere

While Danai Gurira’s white Gabriela Hearst look is still my favourite look from her this year, I do love the actress in colour.

And it was bold colour she was serving up for ‘The Walking Dead’ 100th episode premiere and party on Sunday (October 22) in LA wearing Mary Katrantzou.

As a master of modern print, Katrantzou drew inspiration from the surreal world of Walt Disney for her Fall 2017 collection.

I love how this dreamscape Mulan print – showcasing a surreal lily pond – was accented with feathers and 3D flowers to bring this fantasy to life.

I am missing the delicate fringe layer and I prefer the below the knee length as presented on the runway, but Danai looks stunning nonetheless.

Sophia Webster sandals completed her look.

Ana de Armas In Mary Katrantzou – ‘Blade Runner 2049’ Madrid Photocall

While co-star Sylvia Hoeks was in Rome, Ana de Armas was in Madrid on Tuesday (September 19) at the ‘Blade Runner 2049’ photocall alongside Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford.

The Cuban actress donned a Mary Katrantzou Fall 2017 dress. The exaggerated shoulders, pleated peplum detail and layered look had futuristic leanings but the designer’s signature prints were a wiser alternative to the clichéd metallics.

Champagne gold Casadei pumps added a sweetness to the sharp tailoring above.

Critics might find the peplum and puffed shoulders to be dated, but the proportion of them and the juxtaposition of patterns makes them feel modern for me.
