Blake Lively In Marchesa – Van Cleef & Arpels Celebrates The Redesigned New York 5th Avenue Flagship Maison

Blake Lively In Marchesa - Van Cleef & Arpels Celebrates The Redesigned New York 5th Avenue Flagship Maison

Blake Lively attended the unveiling of Van Cleef & Arpels’ redesigned New York 5th Avenue flagship maison at Van Cleef & Arpels in New York City yesterday evening.

The actress turned to her favourite red carpet designers Marchesa, selecting a black bias slip dress with pale pastel floral threadwork embroidery and Chantilly lace cut-outs and a tulle flounce skirt from their Spring 2014 collection.

She styled her look with Gucci shoes and jewels by the host, opting for a dark-rouge lip colour and Veronica Lake wavy tresses to complete her sultry look.

I know some of you can never get on board with a Blake Lively look, but I’m loving her grown-up sexy, sophisticated looks.

Michelle Obama In Marchesa – 36th Kennedy Center Honors Gala

Michelle Obama In Marchesa - The 36th Kennedy Center Honors Gala

Michelle Obama was the belle of the ball at the 36th Kennedy Center Honors Gala held at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. on Sunday evening.

The First Lady never fails at leaving me in awe.

On this occasion she looked radiant wearing an emerald off the shoulder Marchesa silk chiffon Grecian gown which she styled with a beautiful silver necklace and drop earrings.

I’m loving the big curls which gave her hair plenty of volume.

Effortless, elegant and regal as always.

Heidi Klum In Marchesa – 2013 American Music Awards

2013AMA_HeidiKlum

Heidi Klum was also at the 2013 American Music Awards, held on Sunday evening at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California.

The supermodel and ‘Project Runway’ host’s look may have been more ‘out’ than ‘in’ on this occasion, as she donned a flimsy black Marchesa Spring 2014 number.

The best way I can liken this look is to a bit of sensory overload… the lace, the frou, the sheer, the shredded fringe. It all made the impression that the dress was wearing her and not the other way around. The blunt, eye-grazing bangs and the Lorraine Schwartz collarbone-skimming earrings and smattering of rings weren’t exactly helping matters.

Black Brian Atwood ‘Melly’ peep-toe sandals were certainly the most subdued part of this ensemble that took on more of a costume quality than would be recommended.

Modish or just too much?

Former ‘Gossip Girl’ star Leighton Meester has been signed as the face of luxury skincare brand Biotherm as their global ambassador.

The 27-year-old singer and actress, who recently got engaged to beau Adam Brody, will debut in campaigns for the brand from early 2014.

Her first role will be as the face of the iconic Aquasource product, of which she said to WWD, ‘What I love most is the texture. It feels so light and fresh on my skin… I feel like I’m glowing from within’.

Leighton Meester In Marchesa Voyage - Biotherm Shanghai Launch 2

In Shanghai, China earlier today, Leighton kick-started her promotional activities wearing a flattering Marchesa Voyage nautical floral stripe top with matching trousers and nude suede pumps.

While some might not like this for fear it will reignite the pyjama trend, I love the laidback, effortless vibe of this look.

Perfect for a launch of a skincare brand.

Rita Ora In Marchesa – BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards

Rita Ora In Marchesa - BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards

Rita Ora certainly made an entrance, practically floating onto the red carpet as she arrived for her co-hosting duties at the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards on Sunday at Wembley Arena in London, England.

Enveloped in a sea of white, fluffy frou-frou, the singer’s feathery floral frock from Marchesa’s Spring 2014 collection was certainly a departure from her edgier sartorial ways.

In keeping with the more delicately enchanting garb, she wore B Brian Atwood ‘Labrea’ strappy white sandals and skipped her signature red lip in favour of a cotton-candy-pink gloss while coaxing her long bob into loose, romantic ringlets.

Of course, the look wasn’t totally devoid of Rita’s stylistic brazenness. Her strong smokey eye added some dark drama—and the frock had a thigh-high slit up the centre for an added dash of sass.

I never thought such a soft statement could speak so loudly.

Did her Marchesa moment have you happily on cloud nine or not?
