Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Amy Adams was just one of many stars to take to the red carpet for the 2012 Toronto Film Festival this weekend.

Dressed in a lovely Marchesa frock she attended the premiere of her latest movie, ‘The Master’.

Her LBD was decorated with a beautiful satin ribbon cascading from the shoulder down her dress.

Amy’s conservative, yet sexy frock was styled with black Manolo Blahnik pumps and a satin black VBH clutch.

A center parted bun and ruby earrings finished the look.

Selena Gomez attended the ‘Spring Breakers’ premiere during the Toronto Film Festival last night.

The actress chose a Marchesa Spring 2012 oyster illusion dress with scale-like embroidery and draped cascade tulle skirt for her trip down carpet.

This look is quite a departure from the leopard-print sheath she was spotted in earlier in the day.

While there is a lot going on, I think she’s confident enough to pull it off.

I love the intricate details on the bodice.

The hair and make-up are pretty, and the Jimmy Choo ‘Calista Glitter’ clutch is a red carpet winner.

Maika Monroe and Zac Efron hit the red carpet on Friday evening for their ‘At Any Price’ premiere during the 2012 Venice Film Festival, held at the Palazzo del Cinema in Venice, Italy.

Every year the festival reveals a young new talent, and now seems to be the moment of Maika Monroe.

The 18-year-old actress dazzled on the red carpet wearing a Marchesa Fall 2012 gown.

Her white gown with feather-like embroidery and a flared tulle skirt was a perfectly glamorous way to shine in this spotlight.

The beachy braid wouldn’t have been my choice, but she’s a young girl who probably wanted to have some fun with the look and add a youthful vibe.

Giuseppe Zanotti for Balmain crystal chain ankle strap sandals, drop earrings and glossy lips completed her look.

Zac looked incredibly dapper in his black suit and matching black tie.

Naomi Watts and her partner Liev Schreiber (in Ermenegildo Zegna) joined Kate Hudson on the red carpet during the 2012 Venice Film Festival for the premiere of ‘The Reluctant Fundamentalist’, which also served as the Opening Ceremony this evening.

Like Kate, I’m not surprised at Naomi’s choice of designer as Naomi, film festivals and Marchesa seem to go hand in hand.

On this occasion she wore a nude lace overlay gown featuring a bateau neckline, ruffle sleeves, a layered skirt, and a low V-back with tonal ruffle accent from the Resort 2013 collection.

The colour is divine as is her choice of accessories which included a Lanvin two-tone light blue & mustard lacquered ‘Red Passion’ minaudiere, nude peep-toes and gold statement jewels.

Naomi opted for a rich red lip colour instead of nude, which may have been one nude step too far.

The only thing I would change about this look is Naomi’s posture. Such a stunning gown needs more poise.

For her twelfth ‘Solo Moda’ programme, Nieves Alvarez toned down the more colourful looks we have seen in previous weeks, for three looks with more muted tones.

First up was a black David Delfin Fall 2012 animal-print ensemble.

After weeks of showcasing her gorgeous pins, she covered them up on this occasion wearing slim pants with a matching blouse.

The look feels very masculine on the runway, but the model oozes feminine sophistication in this look which she paired with Jimmy Choo silver sandals. This is my favourite look of the three.

Nieves’ second look was from the Dsquared² Pre-Fall 2012 collection. The teal dress with a keyhole detail and embellished collar was paired with my favourite shoes from her so far.

These tri-colour Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Eiffel Tower’ sandals just shot to number one on my want list.

I’m surprised to say this, but I’m not really fond of her third look.

This gold metallic Marchesa dress isn’t doing much for Nieves. As a supermodel, one of her super powers is to make anything look good, but that ability failed on this occasion as I don’t find the fit very flattering.

Black Jimmy Choo peep-toes completed the look.

Which one is your favourite?

Maria Jose Suarez attended the Global Gift Gala at the Gran Melia Don Pepe Resort in Marbella, Spain, on Sunday evening.

Her breathtaking Marchesa floor-sweeping ruffled gown in a deep crimson hue sings Old Hollywood style.

With intricate silver bead and crystal appliqués, this exquisite silk piece was a red-carpet showstopper.

She styled her look with a Swarovski clutch, Maison des Talons sandals and Pandora jewels.

Marcel waves completed her glamorous silver-screen look.

The only think I would change about this look is I’d swap the gold clutch and jewels for silver to be more complementary to the details on her gown.
