Eva Longoria In Marchesa & Genny – Global Gift Paris & Edinburgh Galas

With her arrival at Cannes Film Festival expected on Monday May 22, Eva Longoria has been showcasing her style at Global Gift Galas in Europe from Paris and Edinburgh.

Paris: My first reaction to the Marchesa Pre-Fall 2017 fringed gown as, “Mariah Carey called, she wants her dress back”. In short, this feels really dated.

The illusion neckline and lace appliques kills this look for me.

Deepika Padukone In Marchesa – ‘Ismael’s Ghosts’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Deepika Padukone made a moody appearance at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival opening ceremony and premiere of ‘Ismael’s Ghosts’ on Wednesday (May 17).

The ‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage’ actress wore a Marchesa Fall 2017 gown with a sweeping train.

I am really struck by the color of this gown. It’s so inky black with just a touch of purple infused into it, and reads so moody and unique on the carpet.

I am always a fan of the drama of Marchesa, and I love how they added a dose of sexiness into this dress with the crystal-incrusted under layers.

I’m slightly surprised to see Deepika wearing her hair down with such a formal look, but she is following a trend we’re seeing this year with slightly more undone beauty looks, and it really does work for her.

Nicole Kidman In Marchesa – The Bodrum Hotel Opening

Nicole Kidman, made an appearance at the opening of a hotel in the popular holiday destination Bodrum, situated in the southern Turkish province of Muğla on Friday (May 13).

The actress was elegance personified wearing a Marchesa Fall 2017 gown designed to fluidly skim the frame, with all-over metallic beading glistening with every stride.

Marchesa are coveted for their immaculate approach to red carpet gowns and this piece perfectly illustrates why.

A true standalone style, it requires nothing more than a pair of Christian Louboutin ‘Blakissima’ heels and subtle jewels.

2017 Met Gala Couples

In addition to Pharrell Williams and Helen Lasichanch, there were a few other couples who attended the 2017 Met Gala on Monday (May 1) in New York City.

Eddie Redmayne & Hannah Bagshawe: While they may not have fully embraced the theme like Pharrell and Helen, Eddie and Hannah still made for a pretty partnership in Prada. The deep jewel-toned hue of her amethyst gown, awash in the label’s signature embellishment, was striking against his midnight-navy suit that was precision-tailored with just the right amount of quirk in its oversized buttons.

Armie Hammer & Elizabeth Chambers Hammer: Coordinating in all black, both Armie and Elizabeth wore Ralph Lauren ensembles. However, no offense to Armie, no one was looking at his monochromatic moment that was nothing if not handsomely sleek. But, with her sheer lace gown, Elizabeth commanded attention—even if we’ve seen this leggy look done countless times over. Its ubiquity has cancelled out any hope of the avant-garde, although a more sculptural, origami-style ’do might have helped inch this ensemble closer to the night’s theme.

Rita Ora In Marchesa – 2017 Met Gala

Marchesa and Rita Ora have been a winning combination since the singer first donned the British-born, New York-based brand back in 2012; so I was excited to see the union was on top form for Monday night’s (May 1) 2017 Met Gala.

While there are times I find Rita’s style frustratingly inconsistent, she tends to nail the big occasions.

I love that her custom Marchesa gown is beautifully draped and wrapped up with a neat bows while exuding couture-like craftsmanship.

There were many great gowns tonight, but this one left me breathless.

Fan Bingbing In Marchesa – 2017 Time 100 Gala

Before the 2017 Time 100 Gala on Tuesday (April 25) in New York City, I was excited to learn that Fan Bingbing was announced as one of the judges for the 2017 Cannes Film Festival alongside Jessica Chastain.

To mark that celebration the actress wore a Marchesa Fall 2017 floral beaded satin dress with an embroidered and fringe cape which she styled with a Marchesa ‘Simonetta’ bronze clutch.

Clutch and shoes aside, I love the look. This might seem surprising as I didn’t love Blake Lively’s dress from the same collection, but Bingbing is selling this look to me.

Why?

Mostly because of the Asian influences which is void of any costumey feel. The pink and red hues are both divine and supremely elegant. Her hair and makeup is simple and perfect for this look.

Honestly I could wax lyrical about this all day.
