Jessica Szohr wore the blue print version of this Thakoon Spring 2010 dress to this prestigious event.

I’m glad she picked the darker colour, as I would love to see the lighter print saved for the Spring.

Strappy booties and tamed sleek straight hair complete this look.

What? No ankle boots?

Alexa Chung looks really cute wearing a red Jason Wu Spring 2010 dress with a ruffled neckline.

I love those bold red lips.  It’s very rare that we see her wearing make-up.

Ballet flats complete the look, but I’m also missing the black runway waist belt.

Cassie looked really good on this occasion.

The singer donned an off-the-shoulder Brian Reyes Spring 2010 black centipede tiered dress paired with open-toe booties.

Georgina Chapman wore a black Marchesa Fall 2009 dress, which has an intricate embroidered detail all over.

The designer paired her dress with the same Christian Louboutin for Marchesa lace ankle boots as the runway model, plus a black clutch from her Spring 2010 collection.

Coco Rocha looked fierce in wearing this Rodarte Spring 2009 black and white dress on the runway, but Karen Elson softens the look by adding black pumps and bouncy curls.

Many of you hated Nicole Kidman’s last L’Wren Scott dress at the CMA’s.

On this occasion she wore a stunning ivory Lanvin tulle lace gown.

Her boobs aren’t squashed, she not too washed out, the black sash tied to the waist is adorably accented with a white rose.

Love it or hate it?

I see trouble ahead for the rumoured Victoria Beckham Collection Spring 2010 campaign girl.

In an interview with Allure magazine, Victoria Beckham said “Don’t have all your legs out and all your boobs out. Cover something up”.

Ooops Blake obvisoulsy doesn’t live by that rule, and why should she when she looks this fabulous.

The Gossip Girl actress looked stunning wearing a beautiful bow-fronted Marchesa Spring 2010 white embroidered blazer with black shorts.

J’Adore.  She can’t do wrong for me at the moment.

Sophia Bush was covered up wearing a Helmut Lang powder print dress, but that didn’t stop her looking any less fabulous.

I’m glad to see Sophia is not sticking to the obvious labels and trying something new for a refreshing change, as it helps her stand out from all the Hollywood starlet Herve Leger wearing clones.

Sophia and I obviously have the same taste, as I added this dress to my favourites this week.

Julianne Moore’s Viktor & Rolf Spring 2010 tuxedo jacket-like draped dress is soften without the sleeves.

I really like the modification, but if she was going to wear tights that thick she might as well have stuck with the original runway version.

Writer/director Rebecca Miller wasn’t about to be outdone by these actresses.

She also glammed for this screening by donning a very chic tailored Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2009 keyhole black dress with a red floral design, a high collar and gathered sleeves.

European actresses Marion Cotillard and Penelope Cruz seemed to be inseparable, as I couldn’t find a picture of them apart.

Cruz wore head-to-toe black, whereas Marion stood out by wearing a taupe dress with embellished details.

I much preferred Robin Wright Penn as a blonde.

I understand she wants to ‘wash that man right outta her hair’, but brunette was not the way forward for her.

What’s with all the drastic colour changes lately?  First McPhee, now Robin.

Also the Herve Leger dress isn’t really doing anything good for her.

November 16th, 2009

This event has got to be one of the Best Dressed events I’ve ever seen, as everyone made a magnificent effort.

I’ve never been one to go gaga over Chloe Sevigny, but I absolutely LOVE her in this Miu Miu Spring 2010 dress.

It’s something only the likes of Chloe and Zooey Deschanel could pull off without looking like a grown woman dressing childishly.

Her bejewelled turtle neck dress is so playful and dainty, plus I love her neutral accessories which complement her dress well.

*Sighs*

Kate Beckinsale blew me away at this event.

I love the way her midnight green asymmetrical Andrew GN Spring 2010 gown appears to snake around her toned body.

The draping is magnificent, the embellished belt and shoulder detail adds texture and the look is pulled together with an elegant updo.

This is one of my favourite looks from Kate, who completed the look with a black Jenny Packham Baguette clutch.

Christina Ricci wasn’t brave enough to wear the runway version of this Prada Spring 2010 cloque baby doll dress, but she settled on a forest green modified version which she accented with a silver waist band.

Christina isn’t shy at taking risks, but baring her panties at this event wouldn’t have been quite appropriate.

Is it me or does Christina change her hair colour every time she hits the red carpet?

Jessica Alba’s also opted for a Prada Spring 2010 cloque halter dress.

Looking at the closet match to the runway, I would have preferred her to have worn the runway look as it’s far more interesting.

Red satin Prada heels and a red velvet Prada Velluto Sere clutch from the Fall 2009 collection complete this rather tame look.

It looks like what we saw on the Prada and Miu Miu Spring 2010 runway’s may not be exactly what we will see in the boutique’s.

Eva Mendes’ Miu Miu Spring 2010 black and beige dress, takes the jewel embroidered detail from the runway look to perfect her sexy sheath dress.

I adore her look, especially the hair accessory which adds a bit of pizazz to her classy updo.

The edgier runway version wouldn’t have quite worked for her.

Normally I can match a dress to a celebrity the moment I see it on the runway, which also helps me memorize runway looks.

This Marchesa Spring 2010 embroidered black tulle gown with draped sleeves looks like it was made for Shirley Manson, despite that fact that I would never have consider her for this stunning gown.

The singer gives the gown a romantic Gothic vibe I don’t believe Georgina Chapman was going for, but Shirley really works this look.

Daisy Fuentes saw the magic which Gustavo Cadile created for Catherine Zeta-Jones last week, and created it for herself wearing one of his luscious gowns.

I love the amethyst colour of her Spring 2009 halter chiffon gown, which is slightly modified from the runway as hers has jeweled straps.

This would’ve been the reason she pulled back her hair, so we could see that stunning detail.

Last week Lady GaGa and Carine Roitfeld opted for risque looks from Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2010 collection, but Gwen Stefani opted for something less revealing.

The singer walked the red carpet with her husband wearing a white bustier with a black lace trim, paired with tapered pants from the same collection.

Sexy strappy sandals completed her look.

I keep looking at Zoe Saldana’s strapless Marchesa Spring 2010 tulle column gown with sequin detail and keep thinking that something is missing.

I think a waist band, either contrasting or the same colour of the gown would have given her more of a defined waist.

The actress carried a black Jenny Packham Lipstick clutch to complete her look.

I’m so thankful Carine Roitfeld removed all those OTT silver embellishments from her Balmain Spring 2009 as they were overkill.

The dress is much more appealing without all that bling, and I’m a girl who love a bit of bling.

Christian Louboutin Supra Fifre 120 thigh-high boots complete this effortless look.

Unlike most of the others on this red carpet, Kate Bosworth doesn’t really rock my world.

Her animal print Proenza Schouler Spring 2010 dress is nice enough, but she could’ve blown us away with much more interesting pieces from this collection.

I will always love how Rose McGowan always gives us va-va-voom.

Jessica Rabbit eat your heart own.

Rose’s red Donna Karan Pre-Fall 2009 gown is so sensual and divine.

Of course she adds a red lip to her look.

My only criticism is that she would have looked a hell of a lot better with her hair pulled back.

Fashionista Liz Goldwyn always likes to wear the unexpected.

Her fruity watermelon Sonia Rykiel Spring 2010 jumpsuit was paired with a dazzling pair of heels from the same collection.

Miuccia Prada makes her self designed Prada Spring 2010 dress more wearable, by adding a shirt dress under her chandelier-styled crystal embroidered dress.

Carey Mulligan was also wearing Prada, like so many others.

The Oscar hopeful donned a heavily embroidered Prada Spring 2010 dress paired with shoes with a clear heel from the same collection.

She just keeps getting it right. I predict hope she blows us away this coming Awards season.

One person who never lets me down on the red carpet is Marisa Tomei.

I’m just loving this burst of colour.

The actress wore a 1950s Jean Desses Haute Couture bubble-gum pink cocktail dress from Decades Inc.

Boucheron jewels and a Leiber purse complete this outstanding look.

This is one I will come back to drool over again and again.

Rachel Zoe opted for a one-shouldered Pucci gown

Ciara might have been wearing those fierce Christian Louboutin studded pigalle’s but the rest of her look is really disappointing.

When so many stepped outside the box, or wowed us with drama and colour Ciara’s look is very blah and uninspired.

Mr & Mrs Snoozeville were there also.

She was wearing Armani Prive.

I was convinced we would love the same dress this week, but you guys picked Katy Perry wearing a stunning nude one shoulder draped Marchesa Spring 2010 tulle strapless gown with an embroidered floral detail.

We picked Camilla Belle for shunning the easy options and going for this bold Alexander McQueen Spring 2010 puffball dress with a beaded detail on the shoulders and waist.

Many of you like us were scared that someone like Lady GaGa would put us of loving this collection by wearing it first, so when Camilla hit the red carpet at the 2012 premiere we were all relieved and delightfully surprised at the ease in which she pulled it off.

November 6th, 2009

Katy Perry certainly knows how to put on a performance.

Hosting last night’s MTV EMA’s the singer made the event her own by showcasing a spectrum of crazy fashion finds.

Pictured in an alarming Viktor & Rolf Spring 2009 ball gown, Katy opted for shock tactics on the stage.

The strangely shaved netting and bullet-hole-style cavity is a bit too eerie for such a light-hearted event.

I loved the dramatics in Viktor & Rolf’s Spring presentation, however this dress screams ‘DANGER!’ Sorry Katy, car-crash couture.

This is more like it.

Sampling a Marchesa 2010 dress, Katy looks like something from a vamped-up version of a swan-lake production.

Feathers seem to be a favourite with Marchesa for Spring 2010.

Here they complement the lace body, adding movement and texture and give Katy the extra detail that she needs. This dress has already been worn by Camilla Belle.

I love the white on Katy. It’s clean, fresh and works with her dark hair and eyes radiantly.

This Georges Chakra Couture Fall 2009 gown has hints of both pin-up glamour and a 1930’s flapper dress.

Katy is captivating here, the sparkling blue sequins and pearls on the dress turn Katy from a loopy pop-star into a siren.

Showing off her figure, and quite rightly too, Katy sticks with a more mature look.

Katy wore a second look by Georges Chakra, this time from his Spring 2010 ready to wear Edition collection.

The Lebanese designer dedicates his work to a modern, self-confident woman, making Katy a worthy fit for his designs.

This dress is another of Katy’s more ‘wacky’ choices. Having modified the hem to make a structured skirt, it resembles the carousel dress that the singer wore at last years EMA’s.

Ultimately wearing this dress whilst swinging on a decorated seat doesn’t really do much for the singer except confirm what we already knew; slightly bonkers.

Joint Best Dressed Award
This Atelier Versace Fall 2009 strapless gown was made for a body like Beyonce Knowles’.

The colour is absolutely divine on her, the sheen of the dress really pops, the bodice has an strong warrior feel to it which would’ve been the desired look for the independent woman.

I love how this gown skims her hip, and I’m pleasantly surprised at the lack of bling.

I would’ve preferred her hair pulled back, but now I’m just looking for flaws in an otherwise flawless red carpet look for B.

Joint Best Dressed Award
Trying to pick who was Best Dressed out of Beyonce and Katy Perry, was like a mother being asked to pick her favourite child.

How do you choose?

Both are wearing my favourite designers, plus they are both wearing my favourite looks from the respective collections, and both have bodies to die for.

Normally Katy wows us in a different way in eccentric Manish Arora pieces, but this time she wows us by looking so graceful in a nude one shoulder Marchesa Spring 2010 draped tulle strapless gown with embroidered black floral.

A very pleasant surprise indeed.

If there’s any room, both are up for BDOTW.

Most Sexy Award
Whilst stars like Katy Perry and Beyonce were wearing stunning - should’ve been saved for the Oscars - gowns, Shakira opted for shimmering silver ultra mini dress which left very little to the imagination.

I wonder if this dress was custom-made by Donatella Versace because the Sharika is wearing Versace Spring 2010 heels with her look.

De Ja Vu Award
Asia Argento wears an asymmetrical Sophia Kokosalaki Fall 2009 black and gold beaded dress which will give you a strong sense of de ja vu.

This is because she wore a very similar dress on the Italian version of X Factor last week.

I must preferred the previous look. This doesn’t feel as well put together.

Surprisingly Not Predictable Award
When I learned that Leona Lewis was attending this show I assumed she would wear something quite boring, but I was wrong.

Normally we see calf-length dresses, tights and no personality.

Not only is she giving us plenty of personality, but she’s also looking very sexy in her corseted look which includes black sequin harem pants and black vest Vivienne Westwood ensemble.

I can’t believe I just said harem pants are sexy, but Leona makes them work.

Normally I would complain about the two-tone hair, but it all adds to the fierce attitude of this look.

Her coral lips are divine.  I wish I could get away with that shade.

On Trend Award
Normally I find it hard to say anything nice about Joss Stone, but I really like her look.

It’s young, fun, on trend with the Over-The-Knee boots, plus I love how her super glossy hair is swept to one side.

Most Disappointed Award
Normally Pixie Lott is a lot more creative on the red carpet.

She normally brings colour and vibrancy, to this occasion her D&G black ruffled dress is nice but I know she can deliver more.

Not More Ankle Boots On The Red Carpet Award
Miranda Cosgrove was the teen star of the night working Alexander McQueen ankle boot with a black and blue harlequin dress.

Worst Dressed Award
“Hey girl, don’t you think my outfit is fly?”

No.  We don’t Lil Kim.

Two words spring to mind. Hot Mess.

You’ll be surprised to know that this is it.

I can’t believe that such a big ceremony pull in so few stars.

Georgina Chapman For Garrard Launch, London

Standing quite a vision in regal blue, Georgina Chapman posed at the launch of her new jewellery collection for Garrard.

Once again we see the designer rocking her own brand, however the founder of Marchesa does make a rather impressive clothes horse for this exotic design.

A mass of sequins and beads, this short sparkly number certainly gains attention, with bordering feathers softening the tough structure. Opting for simple black platforms to complement her look, Georgina keeps the rest basic too, with natural hair and just a touch of a smouldering eye on show.

Princess Beatrice attended the event wearing a Notte by Marchesa Fall 2009 piece.

Very much in-keeping with this season’s favourite trend, Beatrice knows that anything that glitters or gleams goes, and looks fantastic covered in chunky gold sequins.

The little jacket and tights that Beatrice has chosen smarten this look, showing that even though she is a Princess, Beatrice knows grown-up glamour.

“The Box” New York Premiere

Despite this RM by Roland Mouret body-con dress fitting Cameron Diaz’s form perfectly, it’s disappointing to see the normally animated and lively actress in this more muted style.

Her personality has previously been heightened by what she has worn, however here, Cameron loses something of her kinetic celebrity persona.

By dressing down in tights and adding a tame up ‘do, it further dampens things. This dress doesn’t do her justice.

“Valentino: The Last Emperor”, New York

In keeping with recent ghoulish-festivities, Daphne Guiness stepped out a few nights ago in a dark ensemble, mixing textures and shapes creatively.

The fashion-forward mum-of-three stuck with her usual flamboyant style, combining tight leather leggings, a satin bodice and a velvet cropped jacket.

Stepping out in Nina Ricci’s lavish Fall 2009 boot, Daphne doesn’t disappoint as an example of someone unafraid to experiment with fashion, fully confident in her stride.

Socialite Lauren Remington Platt was spotted wearing this gorgeous Julien Macdonald dress recently, a garment taken from the designer’s Spring 2010 collection.

This same dress was placed on our Wish List page not long ago for starlet Cheryl Cole.

The candy-colours fused with figure-hugging fabric create a piece that is sweet and girly but with a flirtatious, sexy edge.

CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Finalists Dinner, LA

Stunning Diane Kruger looks effortlessly chic in this asymmetric Chloe Fall 2009 jumpsuit.

Belted, to cinch her waist and showing just a peep of skin, the actress needn’t do anything else to this fabulous piece.

She kept her hair and make-up basic to achieve a flawless example of great style.
