Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Miley-Cyrus-In-Marc-Jacobs-30th-Annual-Fashion-Group-International-Night-Of-Stars2

Miley Cyrus joined Alexa Chung on the red carpet yesterday evening for the 30th Annual Night Of Stars presented by The Fashion Group International at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.

The singer presented Marc Jacobs with the year’s Superstar Award, fittingly wearing a full-length, backless halter dress from the designer’s Fall 2013 collection in a majestic colour to covet, I love how the green sparkles catch the light.

I have to say this is the best she’s looked in a long time. Deciding not to make the night all about her, she toned down the theatrics, didn’t go half-naked, and kept her tongue in her mouth.

Slicking back her cropped locks, she accessorized with Lorraine Schwartz jewels and Saint Laurent sandals, with green eye makeup complementing her gown and making her baby blues pop.

While I have a feeling she toned down for one night only, do you think this look is much improved?

Pixie Lott In Marc Jacobs & Opening Ceremony - The Q Awards 2013

Pixie Lott joined Ellie Goulding at The Q Awards 2013 held at Grosvenor House in London this afternoon.

The singer often has fun on the red carpet mixing things up. You can never predict what she’s going to wear next.

On this occasion she wore a midriff-baring black Marc Jacobs scuba bra top with Opening Ceremony peplum fitted pants.

While I can’t ever see myself wearing this look, I think Pixie pulls it off, especially considering she didn’t over-accessorize, just adding a few silver rings and Miu Miu Mary Janes.

Kohl-rimmed eyes and mirco braids completed her look.

I don’t think this will be everyone’s cup of tea. So yay or nay on Pixie’s look?

Julianne Hough In Marc Jacobs - QVC Presents 'FFANY Shoes On Sale'

Julianne Hough slinked onto the red (ahem, pink) carpet at the QVC Presents ‘FFANY Shoes on Sale’ gala, which was hosted by the Fashion Footwear Association of New York at The Waldorf Astoria in New York City on Tuesday.

The dancer-cum-actress brought on the drama in a Marc Jacobs Fall 2013 midnight-blue, backless gown, which she accessorized without the runway’s full-on fur but with a single tassel necklace.

The rich tones continued in her oxblood lip, with her asymmetrical, retro waves completing the vintage-glam effect.

Do you like Julianne’s hearkening to old Hollywood?

Estee Lauder 'Modern Muse' Fragrance Launch Party Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a roundup of the rest of the attendees at the Estee Lauder ‘Modern Muse’ Fragrance Launch Party held at the Guggenheim Museum in New York City yesterday evening.

Joan Smalls: The model snagged the first look from the Prabal Gurung Spring 2014 collection, wearing a lavender-and-ivory strapless dress with light embroidery. The only thing I would change about the look is the heavy Casadei pumps.

Hailee Steinfeld: The young actress wore a cute Marc Jacobs Resort 2014 navy floral satin dress with a pleated skirt styled with a navy cardi and brown ankle-strap sandals. Had she opted for better heels and ditched the cardi this would’ve been a more memorable look.

Hilary Rhoda: Like Joan, she also wore a Prabal Gurung look, selecting a sexy one-shoulder ivory frock from the designer’s Fall 2013 collection featuring a sculptural ruffled hem and gold baroque border. Jimmy Choo ‘Besso’ black-and-gold sandals, tousled tresses and a gold clutch completed her look. She was by far the best dressed at this event for me.

NYFW Spring 2014 Red Carpet Wish List

New York Fashion Week came to a close yesterday evening, so here is my final roundup of looks I wish to see on the red carpet.

Calvin Klein: We all know Rooney Mara is going to pick one of the black looks from this collection, so I hope it is this one with its unique halter detail, contrasting fabrics and interesting fringe detailing.

J. Mendel: I would love to see this gown on someone with Mila Kunis’ dark colouring. The coral lace gown would look gorgeous against her skin tone and naturally smouldering eyes.

Pixie Lott In Marc Jacobs - Queen AIDS Benefit In Support Of The Mercury Phoenix Trust

Pixie Lott attended the Queen Aids Benefit in support of The Mercury Phoenix Trust at One Mayfair in London yesterday evening.

Marc Jacobs’ Spring 2013 lineup sent classic black-and-white stripes into high-fashion territory and kick-started the black-and-white trend that then dominated the red carpet this summer and quickly took over the high street.

Pixie’s 60s mini dress – yes, this is supposed to be a dress – with scalloped edges was styled with black shorts and black accessories to complement her look.

Opting for heavy kohl-rimmed eyes, she completed her look with a single braid in her tousled tresses.
