Zosia Mamet In Maiyet - 10th Annual Apollo Circle Benefit

Zosia Mamet attended the 10th annual Apollo Circle benefit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City yesterday evening.

Looking as stern as always, the ‘Girls’ actress wore a summery Maiyet Spring 2014 yellow gown with a pink floral print and ruffled detailing.

I know what you’re thinking: 1. This is so not her style; and 2. This is season inappropriate.

We often give passes to Spring 2014 dresses worn in the winter months, but this one, in New York, doesn’t feel quite right to me.

My other issues are the harsh red lip and red pumps she opted to style with this look.

Give this look to Emmy Rossum come March and I will have a totally different outlook on this dress.

Freida Pinto In Maiyet - Maiyet Varanasi Silk Capsule Collection Private Dinner Party

Freida Pinto attended the Maiyet Varanasi Silk Capsule Collection private dinner party hosted by Barney’s at the Consulate General of India in New York City on Thursday.

Sporting a rich mix of colours, the Indian actress wore a Maiyet Spring 2013 ensemble.

She wore a bright-blue v-neck pleated dress with double layers, accented with a black leather belt and styled with a green-and-blue collarless jacquard blazer.

Adding yet more spice to her look, she carried a Maiyet ‘Ayla’ beige clutch with gold trims and a brown leather cut-out detail, and wore strappy leather booties.

As always, Freida is the picture of elegance. I have nothing but admiration for this look.

I can’t wait to see her during Cannes Film Festival over the coming days.

On Sunday I discovered a new brand: Maiyet.

The debut Spring 2012 presentation was attended by all the top editors from Vogue, The Times, Marie Claire and Elle, so I was excited that I was going to be seeing something very special.

Maiyet marries old-world traditions with new-world luxury to create a collection that is sophisticated, modern and minimalist in spirit.

The luxury line sources artisans from developing countries in order to promote self-sufficiency.

We saw an urban collection of khaki trench coats with embellished details, high-waisted shorts, sari-style cropped blouses, silk maxi dresses, short sets, chic blazers paired with a flounced skirt, maxi skirts and loose-fitting pants.

Key accessories included double wrap belts, hand-sculpted jewellery, wristlet clutches, shoulder bags, totes, and strappy sandals, wedges and flats which were paired with socks.

Favourites: handloom jamdani cuff shorts and top and hand embroidered linen dress

Who I See Wearing This Collection: Liv Tyler, Julianne Moore, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jessica Alba, Scarlett Johansson, Thandie Newton and Kate Beckinsale
