Fan Bingbing In Louis Vuitton – Cannes Film Festival 70th Anniversary Celebration

By all accounts Fan Bingbing is deliberately keeping a low profile during Cannes Film Festival as she’s been taking her juror position very seriously, preferring to concentrate on that, rather than attend several events per night, which is to be commended.

So it was good to see her back for the 70th anniversary screening this evening (May 23).

This might not be to everyone’s liking, but I love how she ushers in a new romantic mood in this girlie pink Louis Vuitton custom design, infused with bohemian sensibilities which she styled with De Beers jewels.

I know many were expected several BDOTY worthy moments from Bingbing, however, I’m not disappointed with any of her looks so far.

Adele Exarchopoulos In Louis Vuitton – Cannes Film Festival 70th Anniversary Celebration

Adele Exarchopoulos was of course wearing Louis Vuitton for the 70th anniversary screening during Cannes Film Festival this evening (May 23), selecting a fresh-off-the-runway look from the Resort 2018 collection.

I’m not entirely sure this look is working for me. And considering I love anything that sparkles, this is surprising.

The dress itself is quite dull without the runway styling, which is starting to make sense now

Also, I was very underwhelmed with Adele’s choice of accessories.

Matchy matchy didn’t work in this case.

Julianne Moore In Louis Vuitton – ‘Okja’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

We are into the third night of Cannes Film Festival, and we have a third look from Julianne Moore who graced the red carpet for the ‘Okja’ premiere this evening (May 19).

The actress wore a Louis Vuitton custom dress which hits all her red carpet modus operandi – modern and elegant.

Even though I wasn’t too crazy about how the white lining looked when the split opened, I will take this over the mumsy offering from Michelle Williams yesterday.

A sparkling pair of Chopard earrings in 18ct white gold featuring 34.12 carats diamonds from the High Jewellery Collection completed her look.

Michelle Williams In Louis Vuitton – ‘Wonderstruck’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Michelle Williams was back on the red carpet for the ‘Wonderstruck’ premiere during the 2017 Cannes Film Festival this afternoon (May 18), following the photocall this morning.

While I did expect her to wear custom Louis Vuitton, I didn’t expect to be underwhelmed.

At Cannes, the home of “only your best will do”, this mirco-studded gown falls way short.

I would go as far to say this feels a bit mumsy.

The only brief moment of joy was seeing this in motion as the gown features a split down the side and a draped cape, but alas, I’m clutching at straws.

Michelle Williams In Louis Vuitton – ‘Wonderstruck’ Cannes Film Festival Photocall

While Marion Cotillard was showcasing her new found freedom from all things Dior, the Michelle Williams, Louis Vuitton union was still going strong this afternoon (May 18) at the ‘Wonderstruck’ Cannes Film Festival photocall.

Many of you have sighted “different version of the same dress” syndrome when it comes to MW x LV, however, this A-line silhouette punctuated with all-over wave-prints and a flared skirt adding both volume and drama to the overall silhouette can’t be overlooked.

And do you know the best thing about this look?

She’s wearing sandals. Hallelujah.

It’s been some time since a Louis Vuitton muse has be able to showcase her pedicure, as the LV ankle boots have been something of a must-wear with any LV look.

As for tonight, if I’m not typing the words, “Michelle Williams”, “Louis Vuitton” and “blown away” in the same sentence, I will be bitterly disappointed.

Louis Vuitton Resort 2018 Front Row

The Louis Vuitton Resort 2018 show was held on Sunday (May 14) in Koka, Japan, with the LV lovelies out in force in their best renditions of the brand.

Fan BingBing: I love the tough-girl edge that Fan served up here with this twist on leather, as she tempered it with a retro femininity in her bronze earrings and cross-body handbag as well as her oxblood lip.

Jennifer Connelly: Perhaps my love of electric blue was skewing my judgment, but the vibrancy of this uniform-like ensemble was intriguing. That said, the same sentiment was not felt so much for the taupe belt and platform loafers, but they did play into the funky-sport theme.

Michelle Williams: It seems as if we’ve seen this dress before, as despite its elaborate embroidery and pattern mix, it remains a bit one-note. And, it seems as if it is wearing Michelle and not the other way around. I fault the restrictive neckline for that—and the boots, which simply are too forced here.
