Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Bérénice Bejo In Louis Vuitton - 2013 DGA AwardsYesterday evening, Bérénice Bejo attended the 2013 Directors Guild of America Awards at The Ray Dolby Ballroom at the Hollywood & Highland Center in California.

Leaving behind Louis Vuitton’s popular Spring 2013 checquerboard collection, the French actress looked ahead to Pre-Fall 2013 with her black-and-bronze sequined dress from the designer.

The retro-inspired collar and dropped waist perhaps inspired her side-swept pin waves, but it all translated as a bit muddled, especially when mixed with a casual LV clutch.

Like the lookbook, she popped up the dark, moody moment with an on-trend matte red lip and matching manicure and pedicure.

Her matching gold-and-black LV sandal lifted the heaviness even more, but I found the ankle strap that cut the line of her leg rather bothersome.

Tallulah Harlech In Louis Vuitton - BFC Vogue Designer Fashion Fund Winners Announcement

Tallulah Harlech joined a very fashionable crowd at Nobu Berkeley in London last night for the BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund winners announcement.

The British actress and model – and daughter of the Chanel muse, Lady Amanda Harlech – who can probably get away with calling Karl Lagerfeld ‘Uncle Karl’ becomes the 17th celebrity to wear a piece from the Louis Vuitton Spring 2013 collection.

As you know, we’ve seen plenty of the black-and-white, nude-and-ivory and lime-green-and-white pieces, but this is a first outing for a yellow-and-white chequered look.

It’s also the first time we are seeing a two-piece look from the collection.

Considering we can see Tallulah’s belly button, there is a strong possibility that this look only consists of two pieces – or she has a crop top under her chequered jacket.

With so much love for this collection, I wonder who’s going to be number 18.

Celebs Love Louis Vuitton Check Print 1

‘Check’ marks the spot when it comes to Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2013 entree, starting with Marc Jacobs’ happy yellow and white checkered runway and continuing with his checquerboard of mini, midi and maxi dresses—and more.

But the real end game? The celebrity pretties who have been bold enough to embrace the graphic grid.

Actresses Kristen Stewart, Berenice Bejo and Hailee Steinfeld were early wearers of the trend, snatching their short, leggy interpretations straight from the runway.

Kristen and Hailee both took a youthful approach with their trendy rompers, and I liked how Berenice added a pop of colour with her red heel.

Going for a more glam spin, the statuesque Elettra Wiedemann pulled off a jumpsuit that worked because of her model height. ‘Django Unchained’ actress Kerry Washington debuted a lovely white and ivory exit at a photocall, all tied up with a bow. And Kirsten Dunst strutted out one of the column gowns, using the 2013 Art of Elysium Heaven Gala to make her mark.

Maria Leon In Louis Vuitton - Goya Awards' Final Candidates Party Photocall

Maria Leon attended the Goya Awards’ final candidates party photocall held at El Canal theatre in Madrid, Spain last night.

Not deterred by the fact that so many celebrities have donned the Louis Vuitton Spring 2013 chequered print before her, the actress wore a long-sleeved mini dress styled with a white LV bag and double-ankle-strap platform peep-toes.

I think it’s safe to say this will not be the last time we will see this print.

The 27th Annual Goya Awards, Spain’s answer to the Oscars, takes place on February 17, 2013.

You may remember that Bérénice Bejo wore this same LV dress back in November.

LV

Isabeli Fontana joined Miranda Kerr in Cancun, Mexico this weekend for the opening of a new Louis Vuitton boutique.

The model also wore a Spring 2013 look, but her look featured a white sequinned long-sleeved body with a neon-yellow trim, which she styled with a long skirt with sheer square panels.

I love how Isabeli pulls off this look without it coming off as tacky. I can imagine Kristen Stewart cutting this look dangerously short had she worn it.

Isabeli styled her look with a mini LV top-handle bag, nude platform pumps, a simple updo and barely-there makeup.

Does this look work for you?
