‘La Tete Haute’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere & Opening Ceremony Red Carpet Roundup

‘La Tete Haute’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere & Opening Ceremony Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a quick round-up of some of the other models who attended the opening ceremony and premiere of ‘La Tete Haute’ (‘Standing Tall’) during the 2015 Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday (May 13) in Cannes, France.

Doutzen Kroes: Versace were on fire tonight as Doutzen also looked breath-taking wearing a white gown from the Atelier Versace Spring 2015 collection, spliced with cut-outs to enhance the sex appeal.

Liya Kebede: Yep, it’s Louis Vuitton, again. While she rocks the hell out of this metallic silver mini, but like Jennifer Connelly, I’m dying for her to give LV a break and do something new.

Aymeline Valade: The model wore an Ulyana Sergeenko Fall 2014 Couture light-blue satin midi dress with a Yelets lace top. I think I would’ve preferred this without the exaggerated hips.

That brings things to a close. Who would you like to see in the best dressed of the day poll?

Catherine Deneuve In Louis Vuitton – ‘La Tete Haute (‘Standing Tall’) Cannes Film Festival Photocall

Catherine Deneuve In Louis Vuitton - 'La Tete Haute ('Standing Tall') Cannes Film Festival Photocall

Catherine Deneuve attended the ‘La Tete Haute (‘Standing Tall’) photocall during the 2015 Cannes Film Festival on today (May 13) in Cannes, France.

Like her co-star Sara Forestier, Catherine opted for a French brand, wearing a look from Louis Vuitton, for whom she is a key ambassador.

The Resort 2015 look has been modified to be more ‘user-friendly’ for the legendary actress allowing her to present a chic and age-appropriate appearance for this event.

I’m looking forward to seeing what Nicolas Ghesquière has created for Catherine for tonight’s premiere.

Louis Vuitton Resort 2016 Front Row

Louis Vuitton Resort 2016

The Louis Vuitton Resort 2016 show was held at a futuristic private residence in Palm Springs, California on Wednesday (May 6), where a list of pretties sat front row to take in the out-of-this-world affair.

Michelle Williams: The star of Louis Vuitton’s handbag campaign, the actress rather ironically didn’t carry a clutch here. Instead, she paired her tousled platinum locks with a whimsically printed, scallop-edge frock from the fashion house, toughened up by black colour-blocked accents and patent booties.

Zhang Ziyi: Combining feminine charm with mod edge, the actress was alluring in a Louis Vuitton colourful cropped jacket, laced in bright pink flowers, worn with a geometric tee and black petal skirt. Mismatched earrings and a heavy-duty cuff provided another layer of interest to the look with her bright magenta lip polishing it off in youthfully fun style.

Selena Gomez
: Going the way of tough-girl chic, the singer-actress rocked a Louis Vuitton lace-embellished, black leather dress with those ubiquitous black LV booties and a smoky eye to further ensure the edgy spirit of the look.

2015 Met Gala Roundup

"China: Through The Looking Glass" Costume Institute Benefit Gala - Arrivals

A flurry of even more bold names descended on red carpet of the ‘China: Through the Looking Glass’ 2015 Met Gala, hosted at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 4), where their colourful variety of looks only contributed to this year’s fashion extravaganza.

Anna Wintour
: As the gala co-host, the ‘Vogue’ editor-in-chief dressed thematically (for her, anyway) in a Chanel Spring 2015 Couture gown featuring dimensional, all-over poppy embroidery, which had been lengthened from the runway’s original shorter version. She should have maintained her signature cap sleeve, as the flower petal statement shoulders translated as a bit cumbersome, despite their inherent artistry.

Bee Shaffer: Like her mother, Bee also found inspiration in flowers, opting for a mahogany blossom gown by Alexander McQueen. I much preferred this look to Anna’s, especially with the enchantment of the beautifully embroidered Chinese cranes that alighted down the back of the dress.

Jennifer Connelly In Louis Vuitton – 2015 Met Gala

Jennifer Connelly In Louis Vuitton - 2015 Met Gala

Jennifer Connelly was also in the mix at the ‘China: Through the Looking Glass’ 2015 Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 4).

Naturally, she was dressed in a custom Louis Vuitton gown. But, unfortunately, I only had the experience of déjà vu upon seeing this look.

While the architectural detailing and the explosion of lace were striking, this was merely a gown version of the short dresses we’ve previously seen, including a very similar silhouette at the recent Tribeca Film Festival.

The addition of the ear cuff does nothing to elevate the look either. Would you agree?

Jennifer Connelly In Louis Vuitton – ‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron’ New York Screening

Jennifer Connelly In Louis Vuitton - 'Avengers Age of Ultron' New York Screening

Jennifer Connelly attended the ‘The Avengers: Age of Ultron’ screening at the SVA Theatre in New York City on Tuesday (April 28).

To no one’s surprise, the actress relied on the same Louis Vuitton style equation in this Fall 2015 black frock that radiated with metallic embroidery.

Like her last LV entrance, this one featured puffed, mutton-inspired statement shoulders and sleeves adding a bit of flair to the standard short-dress silhouette.

Her shoe choice was rather safe, too. Black pumps were the easy answer and certainly fit the bill, but an unexpected contrast would have been welcomed—not that I’m necessarily advocating for the runway’s white pair.

That said, in light of the predictable fashion statement, she wears it with effortless ease and I did appreciate the richness of the multicoloured metallics which are beautifully echoed in her bold berry lip.
