Toronto Film Festival Red Carpet Roundup

The 2017 Toronto Film Festival red carpet has been red-haute with looks throughout the weekend, and here is a roundup of the rest of the stars that were seen on Sunday (September 10).

Margaret Qualley: The young starlet was at the ‘Novitate’ premiere dressed in a Valentino Fall 2017 gown. This ornate look translated a bit heavily for me, but it’s intriguing to watch Margaret continue to boldly experiment with her style.

Evan Rachel Wood: I absolutely loved this Stella McCartney Resort 2018 pinstripe ensemble on the actress at the ‘A Worthy Companion’ premiere. Riffing on menswear, the look perfectly played into her edgy style sensibility while providing a different take on the suiting trend with its play on proportions. Her makeup seemed a bit overzealous, but that would be my main qualm. Giuseppe Zanotti shoes completed her look.

Elisabeth Moss: After a few recent looks that successfully pushed the boundaries of Elisabeth’s go-to style, she was back in her comfort zone at ‘The Square’ premiere with this Rochas retro-inspired jumper and skirt accessorised with Chloe Gosselin embellished pumps.

Adele Exarchopoulos In Louis Vuitton – Racer And The Jailbird (Le Fidele) Venice Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

Adele Exarchopoulos was back on the red carpet for the ‘Racer And The Jailbird (Le Fidele)’ photocall & premiere during Venice Film Festival today (September 8).

Photocall: I love the rebellious spirit of this boudoir-style Louis Vuitton Fall 2018 dress pair with the workman’s boots. You may remember that Rooney Mara wore the black version back in March.

Premiere: The actress wore custom Louis Vuitton gown featuring the leather waistband and accents we saw on the Resort 2018 runway. I adore the rich eggplant hue, the dress feels feminine and powerful, but I wish the stitching around the bust and faux pockets had been better. A single Dauphin earring from the ‘Haute Joaillerie Series II’ Collection completed her look.

Riley Keough In Louis Vuitton – Tiffany & Co. Fragrance Launch Event

Riley Keough attended the Tiffany & Co. Fragrance Launch at Highline Stages on Wednesday (September 6) in New York City.

The actress wore a Louis Vuitton Resort 2018 dress which possessed plenty of Japanese references from the shape to the shimmering embroidery.

If you’re anything like me, this look would’ve instantly made you think back to Nicolas Ghesquière’s Balenciaga Spring 2008 collection.

It may not have the same sharp revolutionary shape, but I couldn’t get the influences out of my mind.

2017 GQ Men of The Year Awards Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

Naturally, there were a number of handsome stars at the 2017 GQ Men of The Year Awards, hosted on Tuesday (September 5) in London. Here, a look at how they dressed to impress.

Tinie Tempah: Aubergine suits always seem to make an impact, and this Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2017 ensemble was no different—except that its decorative embossing made for an even more style-forward outing. Of course, the look would not have been complete without Tinie’s signature sockless shoes.

Jared Leto: We can always count on Jared to deliver his own unique version of directional style on the red carpet. And, he did just that in this Gucci Fall 2017 floral and plaid ensemble that possessed a distinct aura of stylized, aristocratic eccentricity. Love or loathe the look, he always keeps it interesting.

James Norton: As the winner of the Breakthrough Actor of the Year award, James dressed up in a Thom Sweeney double-breasted suit. Was it just me, or did the proportions seem a bit odd between the small bow-tie, the sliver of dress shirt, and the buttoned-up jacket?

Diane Kruger In Louis Vuitton – Jaeger-LeCoultre Gala Dinner

Diane Kruger was also among the guests at the Jaeger-LeCoultre Gala Dinner on Tuesday (September 5) during the Venice Film Festival.

Leave it to Diane to bring a dazzling sense of directional edge to Venice with this Louis Vuitton Resort 2018 ensemble.

I can think of very few who could rock silver studded embellishment and skinny teal leather with such formidable style.

But, Diane commanded attention here and duly impressed, as she carried the look off in both attitude and form. Would you agree?

Julianne Moore In Louis Vuitton & Valentino Couture – ‘Suburbicon’ Venice Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

Julianne Moore joined George Clooney and Matt Damon for the ‘Suburbicon’ photocall and premiere, which took place during the 74th Annual Venice Film Festival today (September 2).

Photocall: Judging from her previous look, whimsy was the red carpet M.O. for Julianne during the photocalls for this festival. Her Louis Vutton Resort 2018 dress featuring a Kabuki-inspired embroidery added a fun, characterful element to her look. I would’ve loved a lighter sandal here.

Premiere: I have desperately been trying to find something to love about this Valentino Fall 2017 Couture look, but I failed. Yes, even with shimmering eyelash fringing and emerald Chopard jewels that complemented her layered crop, the look fell a little flat. I’m disappointed because I expected a bit more for this event. Looking at this, the best analogy I can give you to describe this look is – driving with the handbrake on.
