9th Annual Governors Awards Red Carpet Roundup

The long list of stars continued at the 9th Annual Governors Awards on Saturday (November 11) in Hollywood, California. Here, a look at the rest of the glamorous ensembles that graced the red carpet.

Jessica Chastain: Flame-red locks and a flame-red gown made for a perfected, fiery match in this Alexander McQueen gown that was topped off with even more elegantly sultry attitude in her red lip.

Kristen Wiig: I’m not sure this Galvan London Fall 2017 velvet gown photographed as well as it could have. But, I still liked her embrace of the daring plunge and the pairing of the Atelier Swarovski by Christopher Kane jewels and Djula diamond hoops.

Sarah Paulson: Channeling a gothic twist on glamour, Sarah showed off the darkly sophisticated side of Miu Miu with this embellished, bold-shoulder gown that was finished in similar mood with an oxblood lip and a Tyler Ellis clutch.

Emma Stone In Louis Vuitton – 9th Annual Governors Awards

Emma Stone joined Carey Mulligan for the 9th Annual Governors Awards on Saturday (November 11) in Hollywood, California.

Now, I know many of you were very nervous about Emma joining the Louis Vuitton family, but I feel those fears will may be allayed upon seeing her Spring 2018 custom look.

Glamorous with a signature tougher edge imbued via the utilitarian detailing, I like how the bag prevents the look from feeling too one note.

The only question I have for this look is, “was this dress originally supposed to be knee-length?”

Margot Robbie In Louis Vuitton – 2017 Hollywood Film Awards

Margot Robbie joined Carey Mulligan at the 2017 Hollywood Film Awards on Sunday (November 5) in Beverly Hills, California.

The actress seems to be in a darker feminine mood as her last few red carpet appearances have favored deeper colours with unique details. This Louis Vuitton Spring 2018 gown spoke to that.

The style still fitted her brand of feminine sensuality, but the black halter top and the ribbon details lent a dynamism and modernity to the piece. Despite the maxi silhouette and sculptured details on the sleeves, it still had a relaxed elegance about it.

Bracelets added a finishing touch as the dress already had a necklace detail sewn on it.

Ruth Negga In Louis Vuitton – Harper’s Bazaar Women Of The Year Awards 2017

Ruth Negga joined a host of stars including Hayley Atwell, Gemma Arterton, Carey Mulligan and Jodie Foster for the Harper’s Bazaar Women Of The Year Awards in London on Thursday (November 2).

With this being her fourth Louis Vuitton look in a row, I think it’s safe to say she’s part of the LV family.

The British actress showcased her sartorial style by making this Spring 2018 look her own.

While Jennifer Connelly tends to stick with a head-to-toe runway look, Ruth took the hero piece – the brocade frock coat – and teamed it with simple, chic staples plus an LV gold clutch.

This might just be my favourite look from this collection. I love how she’s streamlined it and made it easily wearable.

Millie Bobby Brown In Louis Vuitton – TRL

Millie Bobby Brown continues her fashion parade, this time paying a visit to TRL in New York City on Wednesday (November 1).

The ‘Stranger Things’ actress was clad in a Louis Vuitton Spring 2018 striped dress and sneakers. Given her penchant for amazing fashion, I was initially a bit disappointed to see her wear the dress styled with the same shoes. However, I then saw her Roberi & Fraud sunglasses. They might be a small piece, but they helped make this her own.

Millie has worn different shades on the red carpet, and they could evolve to be a key piece in her signature look.

‘Volez, Voguez, Voyagez – Louis Vuitton’ Exhibition

Fashionistas in the Louis Vuitton family stepped out to attended the ‘Volez, Voguez, Voyagez ‘ exhibition opening on Thursday (October 26) in New York City, with the ladies all wearing Spring 2018 outfits.

Alicia Vikander: Making her first appearance since marrying Michael Fassbender, the newlywed continued to prove why she and Louis Vuitton are a smashing combination. Many will be focused on her ring, but I enjoyed the way the embroidered coat dressed up the skinny trousers. The double handles on the bag could have come off as contrived, but they don’t.

Pom Klementieff: Also displaying a compelling mix, the actress gave us long and short proportions with animal print, stripes and varying textures. Some might find it a tad too much, but the cute eye bag helped merge the competing black and brown pieces.

Zendaya Coleman:
This marked the actress’s first Louis Vuitton event. Recently, she has had a number of triumphant red carpet hits so I was intrigued to see what she would bring to the brand. The interplay of fabrics and textures is interesting and I like how she brought a sophisticated elegance to the shorter hemline.
