Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Following her performance on the UK X Factor finale last week, Rihanna showcased her singing talents once again on another reality singing competition last night; this time it was for the live finale of ‘The Voice’.

On this occasion she donned a Lanvin Spring 2013 jumpsuit.

Her luxe tuxedo jumpsuit, covered entirely with Swarovski embroidery, was styled with the same crystal bracelet, crystal belt, and bronze sandals we saw on the runway. She also wore a version of the large crystal necklace, without the choker aspect.

Rihanna usually likes to go big and bold, so I’m surprised she toned down that part of the look, but I guess wearing a choker when singing live wouldn’t be such a smart move.

Flawless makeup and her cute pixie cropped ‘do, which I much-prefer of all her hairstyles, completed her look.

Back in May, Michelle Pfeiffer wore a Bordeaux silk-satin Lanvin dress to the ‘Dark Shadows’ London premiere, with Cathy Waterman and Samira 13 jewels plus her favourite Sergio Rossi ‘Cachet’ black pumps.

While I’m not crazy about the dress, this was one of the rare times Michelle didn’t wear another black dress, so she got points for that, but she loses them again for the tight fit and creases.

The dress looks vastly better on Naomie, who wore the dress to the ‘Skyfall’ Madrid photocall; however, her Pierre Hardy ankle boots shorten her long lean legs.

Cameron Diaz wore the same dress last month to TAG Heuer’s ‘A Night Under The Stars’ event, with a Lanvin statement necklace, Slane bangles, Carla Amorim ring, De Beers earrings and, of course, her Tag Heuer ‘Link Lady Trilogy’ limited edition watch.

Third time was not a charm.

As I prefer the dress in the rich Bordeaux colour, Naomie wins for me.

Mostly because of her flawless makeup, but also because her dress has a better fit.

Here is a quick round up of the other Dapper Dan’s who took to the red carpet last night.

Sacha Baron Cohen: He was in New York City last night without his gorgeous wife, Isla Fisher, for the ‘Les Miserables’ premiere. He donned a black Dolce & Gabbana three-piece suit with a white shirt and oxblood tie.

Jason Clarke: The actor joined Jessica Chastain on the red carpet for the ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ LA premiere wearing a grey Brunello Cucinelli suit.

Jason Aldean: The country singer attended the 2012 American Country Awards in Las Vegas, Nevada last night wearing typical country singer garb, donning a black Stetson, a Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2012 jacket, distressed jeans and cowboy boots. I don’t know about you, but I think he looks better than the ladies who attended this event. Do you agree? Read more…

Shunning a traditional suit, Jude Law took to the red carpet at Old Billingsgate Market for the British Independent Film Awards 2012 yesterday evening.

He wore a Lanvin Spring 2012 navy button up jacket with grey pants and brown shoes.

I’m not sure how you feel, but if the event says ‘awards’ in the title, then surely a suit is required. No?

This is way too sloppy for my liking.

When it comes to Jude I have never understood the appeal. He has always reminded me of Tintin.

Hugh Jackman joined his co-stars, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Samantha Barks and Eddie Redmayne in London’s Leicester Square for the world premiere of their latest movie, ‘Les Miserables’.

The actor didn’t opt for colour like Eddie; instead he kept it simple and sleek in a Lanvin charcoal-grey two-button french-collar suit.

Deciding against the more common white shirt, he selected black to match his tie.

Do his rugged good looks and well-tailored suit win you over? Or did you prefer Eddie’s boyish charms?

Zoe Saldana’s last look was a bit of a snooze by her standards, but she upped her game at the Trevor Project’s ‘Trevor Live’ event in Hollywood, California yesterday evening.

The actress wore head-to-toe Lanvin Resort 2013 ensemble.

Her beige look featured a honeycomb dress with a silk grosgrain bow-accented belt, styled with a matching Lanvin ‘Piano’ box clutch, Lanvin crystal toe-cap pumps plus Dana Rebecca Designs and Melinda Maria jewels.

Even though I see this as an improvement, the look is missing something for me. A statement necklace perhaps?

Thankfully her pumps had embellished detail as I fear this would’ve been too one note otherwise.

Is this a improved look?
