Katie Holmes attended the opening night of The Broad Contemporary Art Museum with her husband this weekend wearing a cream vintage Lanvin strapless silk ruched satin gown.

Attached to the dress, was a midnight blue cascade, that Katie wore around her neck.

I did think that attachment was too much, but in hingsight, the dress may have washed her out without it.

Katie brought her dress from my favourite vintage store Decades Inc.

Can’t wait to see what she wears to the Oscars.

Kate Hudson wore a Lanvin dress from the Spring 2008 collection to her LA premiere of Fools Gold.

The dress - from what I can see of it - is an interesting mix of the ruffles on the dress on the left and the colour and the fabric of the dress on the right.

All that time to modify the dress and she does not wear it with any conviction.

Shame.

The great thing about the high street is that they can create good quality versions of designer clothes, shoes etc without the designer prices.

Lanvin first showed these red patent multi-buckle platform shoe back in their Fall 2007 collection, now TopShop has their own version at £65.

Lanvin Spring 2008
This was a brilliant collection which stayed away from the floaty, floral dresses we have seen this season. It included toga gowns, tunic dresses covered in feathers, flapper-style dress, ruffled satin cocktail dresses and satin trousers with a dinner jacket.

It started off with dark muted colours, then exploded with colour.

Collette Dinnigan Spring 2008
This was a great mixture of fabulous party dresses.

They ranged from short and sassy to full length and fabulous, in bright colours and a range of fabrics, metallics, delicate lace, abstract silk florals, and bold solids.

The one-shoulder dress featured heavily, as did dresses that were nipped in to accentuate the waist. There were also sixties-style shifts and baby dolls. Many necklines and waists were embellished with silvery sequins or crystals.

Louis Vuitton Spring 2008
Louis Vuitton’s spring collection, designed by Marc Jacobs, was very colorful.

The collection had nurses’ uniforms, puffy skirts, vests layered over blouses, arm-length gloves, and cardigans.

For me the most interesting part of this collection were the bags. They ranged in different shapes from extra large sacks to clutches, but all were bright with colour and had colour-bleeding and graduations which we have see a lot this season.
