Red Carpet Fashion Awards

amfar men 2

There were many lovely ladies at the amfAR’s 20th Annual Cinema Against AIDS yesterday evening. Here is a look at the men.

Adrien Brody: The actor wore a Roberto Cavalli tuxedo. I love everything about this look. Looking very debonair, Adrien donned a white tuxedo jacket with a black satin shawl collar, styled with shiny black pants and a unique white-and-black shirt, topped off with Cavalli loafers. Even those of you who don’t love shiny suits can’t help but admire this amazing suit.

Andres Velencoso: The Spanish model, aka Kylie Minogue’s boyfriend, also opted for a Cavalli suit. This classic look, with a black satin shawl collar and bow tie, was styled with patent-leather shoes.

Jeremy Renner: The actor looked very handsome wearing a one-button Lanvin tuxedo with black satin peak lapels, a white cotton dress shirt, a black satin bow tie, a white cotton pocket square, and black patent-leather lace-up dress shoes.

Zachary Quinto: The ‘Star Trek’ actor wore a black Giorgio Armani tuxedo. The classic look featured a black satin shawl collar – the menswear trend of the night – and a satin trim along his trousers.

Even though I love all four looks for being so well tailored and fitted, Adrien’s unique take totally wins me over.

Kristin Scott Thomas In Lanvin - amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala

Kristin Scott Thomas also wore Lanvin to the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala held at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cap d’Antibes, France this evening.

Her biege long-sleeve pleated silk dress doesn’t quite scream gala.

Maybe after wearing all those sequins yesterday she was looking for something more subdued on this occasion.

A gold hammered metal Lanvin clutch and Chopard jewels completed her look.

Audrey Tautou In Lanvin - amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala

We haven’t seen Audrey Tautou, mistress of ceremonies for the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, since the opening ceremony, so I’m delighted to see her once again on the red carpet for the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala held at Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cap d’Antibes, France on Thursday evening.

The French actress had the honour of Alber Elbaz creating this silver frosted lace Lanvin dress with a tiered horse-hair hem especially for this occasion.

A butterfly accented silver crystal belt accented her waist, with a Lanvin stone-and-wood shell box clutch complementing her look.

The only thing I would change here are her nude Lanvin pumps. They feel so ordinary for such an exquisite custom piece.

Zoe Saldana In Lanvin - The Weinstein Company Party

Zoe Saldana made her first appearance in Cannes yesterday evening for The Weinstein Company Party hosted by Lexus and Chopard at Baoli Beach.

You slated her last frock, so I’m intrigued to know how you feel about her Lanvin Fall 2013 number.

The slate-grey dress with a high-low hemline and sweeping train was styled with a David Yurman diamond-encrusted bracelet and sexy Gucci sandals.

While J-Lo was giving in-your-face sexy at the Billboard Awards last night, Zoe is also oozing sex appeal, but in a much more subtle way.

The minimalist trend continues. Are you a fan?

Kerry Washington In Lanvin - ELLE & Tod's Celebrate Kerry Washington

ELLE & Tod’s held a party at Il Buco Alimentari & Vineria in New York City yesterday to celebrate the fabulousness of Kerry Washington who is their cover girl for June 2013.

Breaking her red streak, the ‘Scandal’ actress opted for a rose-beige hue, wearing a duchess-satin one-shoulder dress from the Lanvin Pre-Fall 2013 collection.

The colour is heavenly on her, and the fabric is so luxe and buttery I just wanna go into my screen and touch it.

Opting for complementary neutral pumps, Kerry styled her look with a Tod’s metallic clutch and gold jewels.

Kerry is posing alongside ELLE’s editor-in-chief, Robbie Myers, who looks very stylish in her Antonio Berardi paneled frock.

You can buy Kerry’s Lanvin dress from Neiman Marcus.

Met Men

To celebrate the new ‘Punk: Chaos to Couture’ exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday, some of the biggest celebs walked down the red carpet. In honour of the exhibit, many of the men chose to give their formal looks a bit of punk inspiration, which made for an exciting menswear event.

Eddie Redmayne: The red carpet phenom added another beautiful look to his collection, wearing a Dior Homme navy-blue wool tuxedo with black grosgrain peak lapels. As always, it fit just right. To finish it off, Eddie added a white cotton shirt, a black satin bow tie, a white pocket square, and black patent-leather derbies.

Frank Ocean: In a Givenchy black tuxedo, Frank looked incredibly dapper for the event. His two-button notch-lapel tux fit well and he paired it classically with a white shirt and black bow tie. To give the outfit a little kick of punk, Frank opted for shoes with silver studs going around the soles – a very cool addition.

Joshua Jackson: I’ve never been OK with wearing a red tie to a red carpet event. It’s cheesy. I don’t like that aspect of his outfit, but I love the beige linen lapels on his Dior Homme black suit. Even though it’s a small detail on his jacket, it made for a stylish look. Joshua topped it off with a white cotton shirt and a Chanel ‘J12 Black Matte Ceramic’ watch.
