2017 Unitas Gala

With New York Fashion Week in full swing, Unitas hosted its third annual gala against human trafficking on Tuesday (September 12) in New York where a bounty of beauties wore their best statement dresses.

Daphne Groeneveld: The model’s inky gown contained many of the current red carpet staples including cutouts and an exposed shoulder. The fishnet detailing was refreshing, but I still got a sense of déjà vu.

Ebonee Davis: Not bothered about showing thighs and boobs, the model donned a white La Perla gown with plunging front and racy slit. I would have liked to see one less detail on the bodice, be it the tie waist, flared panels or contrasting bra.

Barbara Fialho: Shimmering in a Rapha Mendonca dress, the Brazilian beauty accessorised with coordinating Alexandre Birman shoes and an Elena Ghisellini clutch. I’m sure some will be fatigued with more ab cutouts and the thigh-high slit.

Joanne Froggatt In La Perla – Preview Of The ITV Drama ‘Liar’

Joanne Froggatt attended the preview of ITV’s drama ‘Liar’, at BFI Southbank on Thursday (September 7) in London.

I’ve always been a fan of Joanne’s style. She’s never been afraid of colour or being a girlie girl, but with this La Perla Fall 2017 suit I feel we may now see a shift into an unexpected sartorial terrain.

As this is La Perla, support is at the forefront of their designs, so I love how this sharply tailored has a sensuality imbued via the corset jacket along with the pretty floral embroidery.

Nude pumps and neutral makeup keeps this striking look grounded.

Emily Ratajkowski dons La Perla & Versace for her Jimmy Kimmel visit

Emily Ratajkowski made her first ever appearance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ where she talked about the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that Kimmel’s mum kindly made for everyone at the Emmys last year, and the fact that she doesn’t count calories in order to maintain her svelte shape.

Arrival: As you would expect the model rocked a sexy pink La Perla outfit which was part tuxedo, part sheer dress. I can’t say I’m that fond of the creation, but she manages to wear it well enough to showcase at least one of her USPs. The look was simply styled with Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Darcie’ sandals.

Show: Summer calls for statement prints and vibrant colour schemes, so what better way to hail the season than this Botticelli-esqe printed shirt dress which was presented during Versace’s Spring 2018 menswear show. I was significantly more excited about this look for the reasons stated about plus it didn’t feel predictable. Donatella wore the sleeveless version as she took her bow.

Models @ The 2017 Met Gala

The models had their moment at the 2017 Met Gala on Monday (May 1) in New York City. Here, a look at how they made the night’s blue carpet their catwalk.

Bella Hadid: We’ve heard of the naked dress, but Bella had the naked jumpsuit of the evening in this sheer mesh Alexander Wang number that left precious little to the imagination.

Gigi Hadid: Her sister may have opted for the naked look, but Gigi just went plain nude in this sweeping Tommy Hilfiger gown—her version of a princess dress—that combined architectural tailoring with romantic femininity. To add an edge, Wolford fishnets did the trick for her leg jut that was likewise accessorised by Christian Louboutin heels.

2017 Met Gala Red Carpet Roundup

Many more stars were at the 2017 Met Gala on Monday (May 1) in New York City.

Hailee Steinfeld: I love the deconstructed kimono edge of this Vera Wang design that was both playful and progressive. Hailee’s twisted top knot and winged eye liner likewise sold the look to me.

Dasha Zhukova
: Dasha softly echoed the theme with this red floral Proenza Schouler keyhole gown.

Olivia Cooke: Also wearing the colour of the night, Olivia donned a seductive red Burberry gown with boudoir lace that got creative in its asymmetry.

Kendall Jenner In La Perla – La Perla Milan Fashion Week Presentation and Store Opening

In celebration of La Perla’s Fall 2017 ready-to-wear collection, a party was hosted in the new flagship boutique in Milan by campaign star Kendall Jenner.

Going for a nude/champagne hues which give her La Perla look a near-naked feel, Kendall opted to break up the haze with a blue-grey clutch and sandals with black ankle straps.

She may have opted for these choices for a more directional route, as going head-to-toe nude would’ve been too one-note.

Dewy, barely-there makeup and a simple bun completed her look.
