Red Carpet Fashion Awards

This week I had a huge dilemma: who should I pick for BDOTW out of Katie Aselton in Juan Carlos Obando and Amanda Seyfried in Alexander McQueen?

Thankfully they were your top two as well, so with Katie taking the majority of your votes, I picked Amanda. Both were worthy of taking the top spot in their breathtaking gowns.

Katie for blowing us away in her relatively simple purple gown, and Amanda for her dramatic McQueen gown with bold hair and makeup.

When it came to the fellas it was a much easier choice, Eddie Redmayne taking the title of BDOTW two weeks in a row.

The British actor, who is known for his love of Burberry suits, won wearing an Alexander McQueen ink-blue suit with rich coloured accessories.

BDMOTY was looking like a one-horse race (Andrew Garfield), but it looks like Eddie will be challenging for that title also.

Rounding up a very busy red carpet at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California last night was Katie Aselton.

The beautiful actress glided down the red carpet wearing a vibrant Juan Carlos Obando Spring 2013 gown.

Her indigo gown featuring slit sleeves, an origami bodice and fitted skirt which trails off into a long train puts the ‘G’ into glamour.

I’m glad she selected a look by this designer, because he is very underrated in Hollywood.

Katie styled her BDOTW worthy gown with an emerald Judith Leiber croc clutch, Anita Ko diamond-and-emerald jaguar studs, a Graziela ring and a Dana Rebecca Designs bangle.

A wispy updo and neutral makeup completed her look.

I think this stunning gown works just as well without the runway belt. Do you?

Neon pink is fast becoming Viola Davis’ favourite colour during her spectacular run on the red carpet recently.

The actress joined many other stars at The Beverly Hilton hotel in California today for the 84th Academy Awards Nominations Luncheon.

On this occasion she wore a hot-pink Juan Carlos Obando dress, but we’ve seen her in pink before at the ‘Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close’ New York Premiere and W Magazine’s Annual Golden Globe Awards Celebration.

It’s no wonder she loves this colour so much, as it’s very warm and complementary against her skin tone.

Whilst Rooney Mara has given us just two different hairstyles this awards season, Viola sports yet another chic do.

This bang-sweeping crop is one of my favourites from her. It’s modern without making her look like she tried too hard.

Jimmy Choo triple-strap peep-toes completed her look.

Miley Cyrus’ third and final look this weekend was a Juan Carlos Obando Resort 2012 dress.

She wore this bold blue dress whilst performing her inspirational hit song ‘The Climb’ on stage for the 2011 CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute at the Shrine Theatre in LA.

With the neck-tie left untied, the singer added Loree Rodkin necklaces to her asymmetrical dress which has been modified so the plunge wasn’t as deep as the model’s dress.

This is slightly ironic considering how much boobage Miley was showing off on the red carpet.

The singer kept the same Lorre Rodkin earrings and messy side-swept braid she sported when she arrived.

Of Miley’s three looks this weekend, which was your favourite?

Jenny Packham, Roberto Cavalli or Juan Carlos Obando?

Following her appearance on “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno”, Freida Pinto opted for a more summery look for the LA Premiere of her new movie, “Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes.”

Rather than opting for something edgy like the looks she gave us in her Interview editorial, Freida was radiant wearing a very simple Juan Carlos Obando Resort 2012 dress.

The jade green dress with a draped neckline and asymmetrical hemline billowed effortlessly as she made her way down the red carpet.

I was surprised she opted for a deep berry lip colour with this dress. I would’ve loved to have seen her wearing a lighter lip shade.

Tousled waves, Tom Binns Fauve hand-painted Swarovski crystal drop earrings, a matching bracelet and nude Brian Atwood ‘Wagner’ peep-toes completed her BDOTW worthy look.

I love the whole relaxed effortless vibe from this look.

She’s fast becoming one of my faves.

Busy Philipps attended the 2011 Critics’ Choice Television Awards which took place at the Beverly Hills Hotel, California today.

The “Cougar Town” actress looked beautiful wearing a Juan Carlos Obando Spring 2011 dress as she collected the ‘Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series award.’

I love her deep blue dyed sleeveless dress with a flounced hem. It’s a sexy vibrant look for her which totally suits her personality.

She accessorized with wooden sandals with a black ribbon ankle tie designed by George Esquivel for Juan Carlos Obando, and mint green Irene Neuwirth jewels.

A side sweeping plait and glossy coral lips completed her award winning look.
