Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Jessica Mauboy In Josh Goot - ARIA Awards 2013

In the US you have the American Music Awards, in the UK we have The Brit Awards, and in Australia they have the ARIA Awards with the crème de la crème of Australian music talent, including Jessica Mauboy who celebrated in the most colourful way possible yesterday evening.

The gorgeous popstar wore a Josh Goot Resort 2013 look featuring a strapless corset top with a structured silhouette and a multi-coloured flower print paired with a colour-block asymmetrical flared skirt with a copper leather panel.

There is a lot going on, which is why she kept the styling simple with an updo, subtle Bulgari jewels, neutral makeup and black Louboutin pumps; however, the model’s heels are much preferred – both the style and colour.

Her ensemble has so much character that I feel she let it down somewhat with the uninspiring footwear.

Do you agree?

Lara Bingle was back on the red carpet earlier today for the Cleo Annual Swim Party held at the Water Bar in Sydney, Australia.

The girl-about-town donned a gorgeous Josh Goot strapless dress.

This urban futuristic dress would’ve looked perfect with the right shoes.

Lara’s black leather over-the-knee boots don’t cut it for me; they are overkill with this summery frock.

Isn’t it summer in Australia at the moment?

The 2012 Women Of Style Awards hosted by InStyle Australia was held at the Carriage Works earlier today in Sydney, Australia.

Miranda Kerr: The ‘Readers’ Choice’ winner stole everyone’s thunder by looking sensational wearing a Carla Zampatti gown. The pale-blue gown cut low at the back and front was styled with gold sandals and spectacular gold jewels. A red pout and simple ponytail completed her look. The day Miranda or Rosie look bad is the day the world is coming to an end.

Kate Ritchie: The former ‘Home and Away’ actress stunned once again wearing a Steven Khalil dress. The designer took a simple strapless dress and turned it on its head by adding dramatic pleats on the bodice, a half peplum and a gold metal waistband. A gold clutch and nude pumps completed her look. The only downside is her foundation which is too light for her complexion.

Lara Bingle: Sporting the same 50s French roll hairstyle Charlize Theron wore to her premiere last night, Lara wore a Romance Was Born printed polka-dot dress. Whilst Lara has great fashion connections, she never really takes ownership of what she’s wearing. She’s like a mannequin.

Erika Heynatz: The TV presenter/model wore a Ferragamo Spring 2012 colour-block red-and-raspberry look which consisted of a plunging blouse with a wrap skirt. I’m not crazy about the bow-front peep-toes, but I do love her complementary woven Ferragamo clutch. The look would’ve been perfect for me had she worn Solange Knowles two-tone Ferragamo sandals.

Last month, Lara Bingle attended the 2012 Prix De Marie Claire Beauty Awards at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney, Australia.

For those who don’t know Lara, think of her as Australia’s version of Olivia Palermo in the sense that no one really knows what she does except sit front row at fashion shows.

On this occasion she wore a Josh Goot Fall 2012 ensemble.

Showcasing her midriff, she teamed a quilted leather floral embroidered top with a black wrap skirt which sits low on the hips.

The black slouchy boots give the look an edge, but I don’t think Lara quite has enough attitude to pull this look off.

Rihanna would’ve looked amazing in this.

Lara Bingle walked the red carpet for the WHO ‘Sexiest People’ Party in Sydney, Australia over the weekend.

The Australian model wore a Josh Goot Spring 2012 dress.

This abstract print dress is absolutely beautiful on Lara, but just seems completely out of place at a party for the ‘Sexiest People.’

Fussy sandals do not help, only shortening Lara’s legs.

This look would be more appropriate for a refined daytime event.

The simple A-line cut might be right up the alley for the next front-row appearance by Anna Wintour.

Australian musical talent was celebrated at the 2010 ARIA Awards in Sydney today, with a packed red carpet of Aussie beauties celebrating Australian designers.

Ruby Rose was the exception as she opted to wear a Miu Miu Fall 2010 dress.

This dress has been seen in nearly every editorial in every magazine all over the world, so I’m surprised that Ruby wore a dress most of us are tired of seeing.

I’m not a fan of tattoos, but I kinda like the rough and the smooth contrast of the rock-chick tattoos with a cute ultra feminine dress.

Lara Bingle worked a sleek modern chic look wearing a navy dress by Australian designer Josh Goot.

Her dress is beautiful but she loses many points for the grey suede pumps.

Jessica Mauboy grabbed the attention from the others on the red carpet wearing a Toni Maticevski structured pink dress.

The R&B singer teamed her flamboyant dress with Sergio Rossi nude heels.

Megan Washington received many nominations at this event, and she ensured she looked pretty to collect awards wearing a red lace dress by Australian designer Alex Perry.

I’m not crazy about the cream pumps, but her jewel encrusted clutch catches my eye.

Kelsey Martinovich – Australia’s Next Top Model Cycle 6 runner up – surely wanted to be noticed wearing a Paule Ka bustier dress which a sheer panel across the midriff.

I like her dress and her bravery for wearing such a bold look, but gloves make this look very costumey.

The “2010 ARIA Awards” will air on MTV Classic on Monday 8 November at 9pm.
