Rashida Jones In J. Mendel – 2017 Emmy Awards

Lovely in lavender, Rashida Jones was at the 2017 Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 17) in LA.

This particular shade of lilac isn’t one we see with frequency on the red carpet, but I think that’s what made this J. Mendel gown stand out despite its more subdued silhouette.

The sliver cutout at the bust did deliver subtle allure, and the fringed, plisse skirt was must have flowed beautifully as she walked.

I love that she opted for such a sleek, modern ’do and that rich, mulberry lip—not to mention Lorraine Schwartz jewels—to bring a more dramatic finish to the dress.

Sarah Gadon In J. Mendel & Rebecca Liddiard In Lucian Matis – ‘Alias Grace’ Toronto Film Festival Premiere

Given the buzz surrounding ‘Alias Grace,’ a Netflix series inspired by Margaret Atwood’s novel of the same name, I was excited to see what its stars were going to wear to the premiere at the Toronto Film Festival on Thursday (September 14).

Sarah Gadon: The actress went for glamour in J. Mendel Fall 2017. The navy tulle and slashes of black on the skirt added some intrigue to the prim princess silhouette.

Rebecca Liddiard:
Contrasting her co-star, Rebecca chose a below-the-knee Lucian Matis dress decorated with wispy black flowers. She toughened up the ensemble with black booties and a plum lip. The shoes were neither here nor there for me, and I wished that she would have went with a more directional boot to really contrast the demure dress.

Did you expect more from the looks?

Alexis Bledel In J. Mendel – 2017 Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Alexis Bledel picked up the Emmy for ‘Outstanding Guest Actress In A Drama Series’ for ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ on Sunday (September 10) at the 2017 Creative Arts Emmy Awards, and she used the platform of her acceptance speech to speak about the show’s partnership with Change.org. A move she said was designed “to encourage us all to take action…sign up, speak up and stay awake.”

This explains why she wore the blue ACLU ribbon, which a lot of celebs wore in support of the American Civil Liberties Union during this year’s Oscars.

I love the ethereal feeling of her J.Mendel Resort 2018 gown which looks like she’s floating on a blush-pink cloud.

Cut to a beautiful floor-skimming silhouette, this really has a dream-like quality to it.

Opting for a deep-rouge lip, her award-winning look was complete with the ‘Lilla Venetian’ brocade Hayward clutch and CSARITE by Nak Armstrong ‘Lotus’ dangle earrings which accessorized.

Kate Upton In Gucci & J. Mendel – ‘The Layover’ LA Premiere

Kate Upton didn’t disappoint on her return to the red carpet.

LAX Arrival: The model made some colourful waves while arriving at LAX on Wednesday (August 23), giving us contemporary maximalism-meets-the-mysterious-rainbow-era wearing Gucci.  The head-turning appliquéd sequined striped sweater featuring a sequined Bengal tiger design was a roaring success. I love the energetic feel of a high-octane piece, and her effortless styling of it.

‘The Layover’ LA Premiere: Some might think that someone who’s famous for frolicking in a bikini or posing on the cover of Sports Illustrated might have a hard time when it comes to eveningwear, but Kate Upton does not disappoint. She put on yet another eye-catching display in J. Mendel. Her Fall 2017 dress consisting of sultry sheer lace finds the right balance between sexy and chic. Styled with an Edie Parker clutch and Giseppe Zanotti sandals, the only pop of colour on this occasion came via her plump red lips. Earrings by Dana Rebecca Designs, a necklace by Established Jewelry, as well as rings by EF Collection and Graziela Gems completed her look.

Sofia Carson In J. Mendel – ‘Descendants 2’ Sao Paulo Premiere

Sofia Carson and J. Mendel ballgowns continue to be a match made in fashion heaven as they provided a sublimely romantic vision on the red carpet for the ‘Descendants 2’ premiere in Sao Paulo, Brazil on Wednesday (August 16).

Joining co-star Dove Cameron, some might think this dramatic gown is too overwhelming or too mature for the young star, but I think she carries the look with great aplomb.

Big gowns for big movie premieres is what I always want to see, so Sofia – with her signature red lip – totally nailed this look for me.
