Faith Hill In J. Mendel – 2013 Grammy Awards

Faith Hill stuck to what works best and that happened to be a stunning little black dress at 2013 Grammy Awards on Sunday, hosted at the Los Angeles Staples Center.

The country and red carpet veteran presented at the ceremony in a J. Mendel Pre-Fall 2013 cocktail dress, which put her in the same designer as fellow country star Taylor Swift.

The LBD featured a glittering beaded necklace collar, a sheer bodice, confetti-like sequins, and a figured-enhancing sweetheart neckline. An added detail was found on the front panel of the skirt in the form of a subtle floral design.

To allow the intricate details of the design shine, the singer opted for a soft and slightly messy updo and understated accessories like patent leather pumps, a blue cocktail ring and matching stud earrings.

Taylor Swift In J. Mendel – 2013 Grammy Awards

Taylor Swift took to the red carpet at Sunday’s Grammy Awards at the L.A. Staples Center in a Greek goddess-like gown.

Nominated for three awards, the country singer looked sophisticated and sexy in a J. Mendel Spring 2013 confection with silver Jimmy Choo ‘Lance’ sandals.

The singer kept true to her latest colour obsession with white (proof: she wore white hot dresses recently to the People’s Choice Awards, Principales Music Awards, and the NRJ Music Awards) in a plunging neckline that was softened thanks to accordion pleats and a metallic beaded bodice.

The singer styled her gown with understated jewels in the form of a purple stone bracelet and floral stud earrings.

I was thrilled to see Taylor tone down the sophistication factor of the gown with a playful, youthful, and slightly messy braided updo and neutral makeup, save for a bit of edgy eyeliner.

Amy Adams In J. Mendel – 85th Academy Awards Nominations Luncheon

Everything was coming up flowers for the Oscar-nominated Amy Adams who flitted down the red carpet at the 85th Academy Awards Nominations Luncheon, hosted on Monday at The Beverly Hilton in California.

The actress went girly and graceful in her exploded floral-print entrée from J. Mendel’s Spring 2013 collection.

The long-sleeve, ultra-”violet” frock could have seemed overwhelming. But then Amy turned to reveal the cool cut-out back; it was just the touch of edge this luxe day dress required.

As for the ubiquitous nude pumps, I would have swapped the Casadei platforms, which felt too weighty for this diaphanous design, for something closer to the runway pair.

To complete the look, Amy pulled her auburn hair into a low ponytail, adding softness with face-framing layers, and painted on a petal-pink pout.

Garcelle Beauvais In J. Mendel – 2013 NAACP Image Awards

There was more yet more bold colour statements to be had on the red carpet at The Shrine Auditorium in California on Friday evening for the 2013 NAACP Image Awards, this time courtesy of Garcelle Beauvais.

The ‘Flight’ actress brought her ‘A’ game to the red carpet wearing a stunning custom made bright-pink J. Mendel strapless gown inspired by a look from the Resort 2013 collection.

Her mermaid gown with tonal piping is heavenly, but I’m slightly baffled by the dark lip colour with such a brightly coloured gown.

I’m not suggesting she wear a colour to match her gown, but the lip colour feel a tad moody for the look and throws off the balance somewhat.

Lip colour aside she still took my breath-away.

Bellamy Young In J. Mendel – 2013 NAACP Image Awards

‘Scandal’ took home the ‘Best Drama Series’ Award at the 2013 NAACP Image Awards, held in California on Friday evening.

The First Lady, aka Bellamy Young, joined co-star Tony Goldwyn on the red carpet at The Shrine Auditorium looking gorgeous wearing a J. Mendel gown.

With so much sparkle on this red carpet Bellamy opted for a dramatic, deep crimson coloured gown.

Her draped shawl collar gown with a fitted bodice and bias-seamed mermaid skirt which fitted through the knee, before flaring to the floor with a mini train was styled with a beautiful ruby stone necklace, matching earrings and a simple bun.

Shimmering silver eye shadow made Bellamy’s blue eyes pop with a coral lip colour providing the finishing touch.
