Red Carpet Fashion Awards

As you know I’m slightly obsessed by the Jil Sander Spring 2011 collection, so I was super excited to see yet another look on the red carpet again this weekend.

My favourite Spring 2011 collection is getting a lot of celebrity love.

This time from Susann Atwell who wore a Jil Sander look to the 46th Golden Camera Awards in Berlin, Germany.

The German TV presenter wore the white cotton tee-shirt and neon pink silk duchesse tulip skirt in the minimalist fashion in which the designer intended this collection to be worn.

I think the secret to pulling off this collection is to be as long as lean as the models who presented the collection on the runway.

A simple gold clutch and minimal make-up completed her look.

Those of you who watched “Conan” last night would’ve seen Camilla Belle making a guest appearance.

She was on the show to promote her new movie, “From Prada to Nada.”

The actress looked radiant wearing a neon orange Jil Sander Spring 2011 sleeveless dress.

Camilla is the 4th celebrity to wear a look from this collection after Tilda Swinton, Drew Barrymore and Kate Bosworth.

Kate is still my favourite, but this is a very close second.

This is a perfect look for her as the colour really pops against her olive complexion.

I’m glad she didn’t go for one of the more edgier pieces, because edgy is quite her style.

From this very quick video, you can see she wore black pumps with this dress.

Most Androgynous Award
I loved that Tilda Swinton added a shirt to her Jil Sander Spring 2011 look to make her look formal for the 2011 Golden Globe Awards.

Whilst it shouldn’t work Tilda is the queen of androgyny, so she makes it work for her by keeping the look minimal yet still fashion forward.

No one else would get a pass with this look.

I love the pink pumps which you can see under her champagne skirt.

As the face of CoverGirl, Drew Barrymore was on hand to help celebrate their 50th Anniversary at party held in West Hollywood.

I pray that she become the face of L’Oreal to force her to dye those roots.

As much as I love the Jil Sander Sprig 2011 collection, I didn’t love this look on Drew.

I really tried to force myself to like it, but my head had a word with my head and said, “No.”

I assumed that this was one of the easier pieces to pull off, but – may the fashion gods forgive me – she looks like she got caught up in a sleeping bag unable to unzip it so she hobbled down the red carpet.

This look doesn’t flatter her at all.

I prefer the elasticated detail higher up like on the model as it sits at an awkward height on Drew.

In short, me no likey.

I’m sure like me you’ve been impatiently waiting for our first glimpse of the Jil Sander Spring 2011 collection on the red carpet, and that came courtesy of Kate Bosworth this weekend.

“The Warrior’s Way” actress proved how fashion savvy she is by donning the Jil Sander ensemble which incorporates a white tee shirt with a pastel mint voluminous skirt at the 2010 Hollywood Style Awards.

She took some inspiration from the runway to wear her hair pulled back and she also added a touch of pink lippie like the model.

My wish list for this collection were all statuesque girls like Tilda Swinton, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Liv Tyler, Lily Cole, and Katie Holmes, but Kate does pull off this look remarkably well.
