Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Jason Wu’s Spring 2013 collection can be summed up in two words: leather and lace.

Iconic supermodel Carolyn Murphy, who opened the show wearing a fitted leather dress with lace panels, was followed by a succession of gorgeous models sporting a braided, marcel wave updo.

Inspired by Helmut Newton’s photography, the mostly black and white collection had pops of coral and blue, which will no doubt delight his celebrity clientele.

The collection was full of Jason’s signature girlie girl looks, but for Spring 2013 Miss Wu will showcase her flirty side.

I’m hoping Miss Lively will select some of the uber-sexy, lingerie-inspired pieces for which the designer collaborated with La Perla.

The collection wasn’t all about feminine and sexy dresses; we also saw black fitted pants lined with lace, a beautiful printed jumpsuit with a cute leather belt with a bow accent, uber hot pants, high-waisted shorts and bralets styled with A-line skirts.

For the red carpet, Jason delivered four gorgeous gowns with sheer skirts, which I’m sure his BFF Diane Kruger will be showcasing on a red carpet soon. I especially loved the navy star print gown.

Key accessories included hatboxes, travel cases and First Lady-esqe top handle bags, some with animal print accents.

Front Row:Anna Dello Russo, Anna Wintour, Michelle Harper and AnnaSophia Robb

Favourites: Nude blouse with black leaf details paired with black high-waist pants and navy gown with gold star print

Jessica Chastain joined in on the Fashion’s Night Out fun in New York City last night at Jeffrey.

The actress opted for a body-countouring Jason Wu dress from the designer’s Resort 2013 collection.

Although Jessica looked lovely, there’s no wow-factor in this ensemble for me. Blue is definitely on-trend this season, but I don’t think the electric hue is the right shade for her.

The black cuff, however, adds a modern edge with YSL tribute pumps completing the look.

What do you think?

Jamie King attended the launch of Clos du Bois Rouge, held at the Chateau Marmont’s Bar Marmont in LA on Wednesday evening.

The always-fashionable actress looked gorgeous wearing head-to-toe Jason Wu.

I love the classic silhouette of this coral silk-crepe dress from the Resort 2013 collection. The elegant draping and gold shoulder details make for a simple yet stunning look.

Strappy black platform sandals from the Fall 2012 collection and a gold-embellished ‘Daphne’ box clutch accessorize the look.

With the final season of Gossip Girl airing on October 8, the cast are still busy filming scenes in New York City.

Leighton Meester was spotted filming on the Upper East Side on Friday afternoon with Kelly Rutherford and Ed Westwick.

The brunette actress wore a familiar Jason Wu Pre-Fall 2012 orange speckled print dress with cut-out details and a handkerchief hemline.

This dress is familiar because Olivia Munn wore the same dress earlier this year on the red carpet.

Leighton’s look was styled with a mumsy cardigan, a thin black belt and a zigzag print Bulgari tote.

I’m guessing this was a tight shot or she was between takes because she was wearing bright blue flip flops

Jennifer Garner had a busy week in New York City promoting her upcoming movie ‘The Odd Life of Timothy Green’.

She gave us three looks, but only one pair of YSL black suede Mary Jane ankle-strap sandals.

On Tuesday she was spotted outside the Ed Sullivan Theatre prior to her guest appearance on the ‘The Late Show with David Letterman’ wearing a YSL navy dress with black leather panels.

A few hours later she attended a screening for her movie wearing a chic black-and-white ensemble by No. 21.

The next day she was up early for a guest appearance on ‘Good Morning America’ wearing Jason Wu.

I can’t say that any of them are screaming BDOTW, but each look suits her no-fuss style.

As event appropriate as they are, I’m hoping she will give some glamour at the premieres.

We haven’t seen Camilla Belle on the red carpet since the Met Gala, but she made a return last night for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Launch Event, held at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City.

Dressed in a pretty Resort 2013 frock by her favourite designer Jason Wu, it appears she hasn’t lost her touch when it comes to looking good on the red carpet.

The black sleeveless dress with an A-line silhouette, ruching at the waist and a white contrasting beaded floral design on the full skirt was styled with a blue-and-black Jimmy Choo ‘Sweetie’ acrylic clutch, David Yurman earrings and Brian Atwood ‘Anise’ peep-toe sandals.

This look is very elegantly perfected by complementary accessories, but I’m not crazy about the grey eyeshadow.

Jessica Pare took to the red carpet at The London Hotel in West Hollywood, California for the 11th Annual InStyle Summer Soiree last night.

The ‘Mad Men’ actress wore a Jason Wu Resort 2013 black-and-nude embroidered lace dress with a cascading ruffle.

Bejewelled black pumps and a Jason Wu ‘Karlie’ clutch from the same collection completed the look.
