Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Met Gala 2013

Here is a roundup of the rest of the ladies who took to the red carpet for the 2013 Met Gala on Monday evening. Models @ The Met post will follow.

Brooklyn Decker: The actress wore a custom Peter Pilotto look inspired by the Spring 2013 collection. While the look is custom I feel like I have seen this look several times before, so there is nothing fresh or new about it, unlike other custom looks as showcased by Karolina Kurkova and several others. Her Sergio Rossi ‘Hypnos’ sandals, however, are a work of art.

Alicia Keys: The singer took to the red carpet wearing a custom Jason Wu gown. Her black leather and bordeaux sequin embroidered halter gown is beautiful, but I wish Alicia had pushed the punk vibe with the styling a bit more; the red streaks in her hair aren’t enough for me, especially when we know Alicia isn’t afraid of taking a fashion risk. Robert Lee Morris jewels and a vintage clutch completed her look.

Maggie Gyllenhaal: The actress wore a beautiful custom Calvin Klein scarlet gown for the occasion which was punked up as far as she would go with a studded choker and a Tod’s black studded clutch with a gold frame. While I do love this look, I wish Maggie had gone bra shopping before this event.

Jessica Pare in Jason Wu - 2013 Met Gala

‘Mad Men’ star Jessica Pare struck a fierce pose in Jason Wu at the Met Gala tonight.

The structural hybrid top and gown is a departure from what Jason Wu is known for, and Jessica wears is well.

I really think Jessica has nailed this look from top to bottom. The look was styled perfectly on the runway, and the actress mimics that even down to the perfect strappy sandals, which accent the look perfectly.

Her sleek, center-parted updo continues in the modern feel of the gown, and her dramatic blue eyeshadow is navy enough that it isn’t painfully matchy-matchy with the color of the gown.

Major bravo for Jessica!

Zhang Ziyi In Jason Wu - 2013 Met Gala

Zhang Ziyi looked flawless in Jason Wu at the Met Gala.

The ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’ actress wore a strapless red-lace, trumpet skirt gown from Jason Wu, and she absolutely radiated as she made her way down the red carpet. She accented the gown with Christian Louboutin jewels, shoes and clutch.

Of course there’s nothing punk here, unless you count her black manicure, but I still love the look.

Her simple cat eye, peachy cheeks and semi-matte nude lips are spot-on, and the gorgeous star is impeccable from top to bottom.

Charlize Theron In Jason Wu - 24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards

At the 24th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, Charlize Theron struck a strong pose on the red carpet at the JW Marriott Los Angeles at L.A. Live on Saturday.

The South African beauty, who was a presenter at the event, gave us another red-carpet jumpsuit moment with her look from Jason Wu’s retro-laced Pre-Fall 2013 collection.

The wide-leg, halter silhouette lost some of its edge with the addition of the metallic braided sash and gold-medal charm. I much preferred the sleeker black belt from the lookbook.

But, if there’s anyone who can pull off this mannish-chic look, it’s the statuesque Charlize who opted for Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry to go with her short platinum quiff and girly fuchsia pout.

At one point in the evening, she even topped off her masculine ensemble with an added flourish: a black fedora, which she borrowed from Bill Clinton.

Diane Kruger In Jason Wu - 2013 FX Upfront Bowling Event

Diane Kruger attended the 2013 FX Upfront Bowling Event last night at Luxe at Lucky Strike Lanes in New York City.

The actress and fashion trend-setter wore an ivory polka dot silk jacquard halter top and black peplum pants both from the Jason Wu Fall 2013 collection which she styled with a red Chanel ‘Lego’ box clutch from the Spring 2013 collection.

Diane possess that famed je ne sais quoi, and often manages to pull off that border-pushing fashion-forward chicness that is typically reserved for French women–this look is just such an occasion.

This pants and shirt combo looks simple at first glance, but both the polka-dots and the updated version of the peplum give them a trendiness that gives Diane the fashion edge she craves.

The bright red box bag, Jill Stuart sandals and barely-there makeup finish off this fashion forward look.

Do you agree? Are you loving Diane’s look as much as I am?
