AFI Awards 2014 Red Carpet Roundup

AFI Awards 2014 Red Carpet Roundup

Plenty more stars joined Amy Adams, Kate Mara, and Lupita Nyong’o at the 14th annual AFI Awards Luncheon at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills this afternoon (January 10).

Julianna Margulies: The ‘The Good Wife’ star looked chic in black and white donning an Oscar de la Renta blouse and L’Wren Scott pencil skirt with copper Christian Louboutin ointy-toed heels and coordinating clutch and a simple chignon.

Melonie Diaz: The ‘Fruitville Station’ star wore a Honor Spring 2014 dress and worked two spring trends in one–lace and monochromatic white. She paired the dress with a Jimmy Choo ‘Cameo’ clutch and Jimmy Choo ‘Anouk’ suede pumps. A deep side part in her hair and sweet pink lips completed the look.

Christina Hendricks: The ‘Mad Men’ star went for subtle color-blocking in a soft blue Boden sweater over a seafoam Dolce & Gabbana skirt. Classic nude Jimmy Choo pumps and a metallic clutch completed the look.

Morgan Saylor In Honor – 2013 Emmy Awards

Morgan Saylor In Honor - 2013 Emmy Awards

Morgan Saylor attended the 2013 Emmy Awards held at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California on Sunday alongside her ‘Homeland’ co-star Claire Danes.

The 18-year-old actress wore a Honor Fall 2013 black-and-white sleeveless gown that doesn’t look so appealing on the runway, but by adding red accessories, silver jewels, and a sweet smile, you have a much improved look.

Only pulling all of her hair back into ponytail would’ve perfected this look for me.

Zosia Mamet In Honor – 2013 Emmy Awards

Zosia Mamet In Honor - 2013 Emmy Awards

Zosia Mamet took to the red carpet today at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California for the 2013 Primetime Emmy Awards.

The ‘Girls’ star took a more feminine approach to her outfit du jour with a floor-scraping Honor Resort 2014 gown.

The dress blurred the lines between girly and goth with its exploded, out-of-focus floral print and its black leather detail at the bust, although the silhouette may have translated more successfully on Zosia with a slightly shorter hemline. She also wore Brian Atwood’s ‘Tribeca’ peep-toes—not that you could see them.

She did pick up on the colour scheme of all those magenta flowers with a fresh, pink lip and a lavender-toned, smokey eye, which was lovely.

Lupita Nyong’o In Honor – ’12 Days A Slave’ Press Conference

Lupita Nyong'o In Honor - '12 Days A Slave' Press Conference

Lupita Nyong’o attended a press conference and portrait session yesterday afternoon to promote her movie, ’12 Days A Slave’ during the 2013 Toronto Film Festival.

The actress opted for a colourful look selecting pieces from Honor’s Pre-Fall 2013 collection.

Her look consisted of a bright wool boucle top with a standing funnel neck and three-quarter sleeves paired with neon floral bourette shorts with a three-dimensional seam detail at the front.

Black suede Manolo Blahnik pumps and Lulu Frost ‘Orbit’ earrings completed her look.

I love the neon yellow against her skin, however, the only downside for me were the pumps when compared to the models footwear.

NYFW Spring 2014 Red Carpet Wish List

NYFW Day 1 (1)

ZAC Zac Posen: The second I saw this luxe ivory gown with a deep v-back and body-contouring seams, the first person to come to mind was Amber Heard. While I’m very intrigued about how the front looks, I know she would work that back even better than the model.

Honor: This clashing-print ensemble featuring a pointy-collared blouse and fitted skirt has only one destination – Solange Knowles’ closet.

Spring 2014 New York Fashion Week Front Row – Day 1

Spring 2014 New York Fashion Week FROW - Day 1

Here is a quick roundup of the notable attendees who took their front-row seats during Day 1 of Spring 2014 New York Fashion Week.

Zosia Mamet @ Honor: Still not able to crack a smile, the ‘Girls’ actress who has worn many Honor pieces on the red carpet opted for this pretty pink jacquard racer-front mini dress styled with red-and-white Tabitha Simmons for Honor pointy flats. Not one to usually wear much makeup, I love the pink lip colour here, but her overall styling – not surprisingly – is off.

Patrina Miller @ Tadashi Shoji: The Broadway star was probably picking out her next Tony Awards gown, taking her seat wearing a lovely red embroidered lace cocktail dress from Tadashi Shoji’s Spring 2013 collection.

Olivia Palermo @ BCBG Max Azria: The socialite and FROW regular doesn’t always play the ‘wear pieces from the designer show I’m attending’ game but she did so on this occasion, wearing a BCBG white-and-nude draped long-sleeved Resort 2014 dress with her favourite summer accessories, including the Aquazzura ‘Sexy Thing’ booties, Ray-bans and her crochet Gerard Darel bag, and eclectic jewels including the Lulu Frost necklace I had on my Must-Have Monday post a few weeks back.

Zosia Mamet In Honor – ‘The Company You Keep’ & ‘Trance’ New York Premieres

Zosia Mamet In Honor - ‘The Company You Keep’ & ‘Trance’ New York Premieres

Zosia Mamet is giving Olivia Palermo a run for her money this week by stepping out twice in two days for two different premieres. The only thing consistent was her choice of designer: Honor.

‘The Company You Keep’ New York Premiere: Sporting a simple top knot, the ‘Girls’ actress wore a look from Honor’s Pre-Fall 2013 collection. Blue and yellow has always been a favourite colour combo of mine, so I find myself wishing that Zosia had added a yellow accent to her silk shirt and high-waisted pants – either yellow pumps, a yellow ring or even a yellow necklace. Is this look missing something, or are you fine with the way it has been presented?

‘Trance’ New York Premiere: This is my least favourite look of the two. While the colour of the Fall 2013 dress is pretty and I love the heart-shaped accents around the neckline, the dress is too shapeless for my personal taste. Factor in the rough hemming of the dress to make it shorter and the blue-and-white pointy pumps – which were quite whimsical on the runway, but in reality make Zosia’s feet look freakishly long – and this is a no from me. I never thought I would say that about an Honor look.
