Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Following on from the iconic Versace for H&M collection, Donatella Versace has created a brand new cruise collection that will be available from 19th January 2012 as an H&M online exclusive.

The collection is designed as a holiday capsule wardrobe that’s also an instant style update for spring.

The women’s collection is light and feminine, with a berries and butterflies print on dresses, tops, negligées, dressing gowns and a silk cashmere cardigan.

There are also white jeans, bikinis, and accessories such as charm bracelets, print bags, ballet flats and high heels. For men, the focus is on fashion classics like a leather detail wool blazer, jeans and denim shirts, alongside pleat-front shorts in cotton or denim.

These beautiful ladies prove that Fergie really let the side down on the red carpet at the ‘A Night Of Firsts’ event, presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and InStyle, in LA last night.

Emmy Rossum: The ‘Shameless’ actress wore a beautiful Jenny Packham caramel silk one shoulder cocktail dress with crystal appliqué at the waist. This was the perfect choice for her dark colouring. A metallic Jimmy Choo ‘Cosma’ clutch and gold Jimmy Choo ‘Dart’ strappy sandals completed her look.

Jamie Chung: The stunning ‘Hangover II’ actress wore a silver sequined Brose ‘Wheeler’ dress with a cowl back. A silver Lancaster Paris clutch and black Sergio Rossi pumps accessorized her slinky look. I love the pink lip colour.

Garcelle Beauvais: The actress donned the same Versace for H&M black leather gold studded dress we’ve seen on Donatella Versace. She added black strappy sandals and a silver clutch which lets down the overall look.

Marni for H&M

You may still on a high from grabbing that must have item from the Versace for H&M collection, but H&M already working on the next project.

This morning they announced that the next collaborating will be with Italian fashion house Marni.

The Spring collection for both men and women designed by Marni founder and creative director Consuelo Castiglioni, will feature clothing and accessories.

“I wanted to create a true Marni wardrobe by revisiting all our favorite pieces in signature fabrics and prints,” says Castiglioni.

For women, the colours are vivid and the prints are bold, be they African inspired or simpler colour blocks. The silhouettes are all Marni staples, with full pleated skirts, dresses, cropped trousers and jacquard knit, and fabrics range from silk to crisp cotton poplin. To finish the complete look the collection also includes jewellery, shoes, bags and scarves.

For men, the colours and fabrics are softened for a relaxed take on menswear staples that is truly Marni. The use of print is subtle, often as a lining or as a contrast detail for shirts, the silhouette a modern and relaxed take on masculine classics.

The Marni for H&M collection will be available on March 8, 2012 in select H&M stores and online.

As a lover of African inspired prints I couldn’t be more excited about this collaboration.

Jessica Alba was the first to wear this Versace for H&M studded top and skirt when she attended the fashion show to celebrate the collaboration two weeks ago in New York City.

The actress sported a high ponytail, red lips which matched her nail polish, black tights and black pumps.

Fan Bingbing wore the same look this week at the Chen Man Photography Exhibition in Shanghai, China.

Like Jessica, she also added tights and black pumps, but Fan had more fun with her look, sporting fun frames, a Louis Vuitton hat and a Jeremy Scott for Adidas leather jacket.

Fan wins easily for me, as Jess looked a tad frumpy in comparison.

Whilst most of Fan Bingbing’s peers opted for cutesy dresses at the opening of the Chen Man Photography exhibition last night in Shanghai, China, Fan decided upon a more edgy look.

The Asian actress wore a Versace for H&M studded top and skirt: her second look from this collection.

Her high-street look was toughened up with a Jeremy Scott for Adidas winged leather jacket and a Louis Vuitton baker boy hat.

Those of you who love Princess Fan Bingbing might not like this change of pace, but I think she appears to be having a lot of fun on the red carpet at the moment by switching things up a bit.

She can’t wear a gown to everything, as much as we’d like her to.

Steve Urkel-style glasses, tights and black pumps completed her look.

Do you find this look fun and entertaining or is she trying too hard?
