Moda Operandi Trunkshow: Vintage Hermès

Synonymous with luxury, Hermès remains an enduring fashion icon.

Perhaps it’s the craftsmanship. Each hand-sewn style requires up to 48-hours of artisanry. Or the iconography. Jane Birkin gave her surname to the label. Or the rarity. A piece of the collection often comes with a two-year wait.

A collection of 28 pieces are available now on ModaOperandi.com, who are currently hosting their vintage Hermès trunkshow, until May 4.

2018 Oscars & Oscar Parties Menswear Roundup

Many of the men brought their A game to the 2018 Oscars and Oscars parties, including the Vanity Fair Oscar Party and Elton John’s AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party on Sunday (March 4) in California.

Chadwick Boseman: The ‘Black Panther’ star continued his reign of sartorial power in this Givenchy Haute Couture suit that was inspired by a full look in the Spring 2018 collection. However, I love how he made the long, embellished jacket his own—sleekly styling it with black shirting and trousers and the zipper-accented shoes.

Donald Glover: This Gucci tux such a handsome-luxe approach with the velvet jacket taking it to the next level in partnership with the relaxed-suave appeal of the slipper shoes. A David Yurman ring completed the look.

Tom Holland: Sometimes double-breasted jackets can come across as a bit contrived, but I love how Tom wore this Hermès suit so sharply. It was a standout on the Oscars red carpet with his Piaget watch adding that final touch.

Gabrielle Union takes Menswear Spring 2018 Paris Fashion Week by storm

Gabrielle Union has taken the Menswear Spring 2018 edition of Paris Fashion Week by style storm, as she’s had more outfit changes than some models with a record seven looks and counting. Equally impressive, Dwayne Wade has been a style-forward partner-in-crime almost every step of the way.

Valentino Show: At the Valentino show on Wednesday (June 21), Gabrielle started off the whirlwind week with a relaxed note in a breezy, flowing Valentino Pre-Fall 2017 floral gown. Sure, it was a glorified maxi dress, but I was so pleased to see it without the runway’s sweater top. Plus, it translated beautifully on her. Dwayne Wade stood close by with his best, trend-forward attitude in place. He suited up in a Valentino plaid ensemble that was embroidered and chain-accented for additional edge. It was likely no accident that the three-piece suit’s plum-and-mint colour palette referenced Gabrielle’s dress.

Keira Knightley In Erdem & Hermes – 2015 AFI Awards & 2015 BAFTA LA Tea Party

Keira Knightley In Erdem & Hermes - 2015 AFI Awards & 2015 BAFTA Tea Party

Keira Knightley, who is nominated in the Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture category for ‘The Imitation Game,’ attended two events this weekend.

2015 AFI Awards: On Friday (January 9) the actress, who confirmed at the end of last year that she is indeed pregnant with her first child, wore an Erdem Pre-Fall 2015 dress with the designer’s signature stamp: florals. While the style is classic and elegant, I do find myself a tad underwhelmed.

2015 BAFTA LA Tea Party: The following day, Keira attended the BAFTA LA Tea Party wearing a saffron-yellow, empire waist Hermes Spring 2015 dress styled with a matching Roger Vivier ‘Prismick Mini Beads’ clutch and black Charlotte Olympia kitten heels. Despite the colour, again I feel totally underwhelmed.

Perhaps she’s conserving her energies for tonight, but when I compare her to the likes of Zoe Saldana, Kristen Bell, and Blake Lively, her maternity style has yet to blow me away.

Lady Gaga In Hermès – Hotel Kempinksi Zografski

Lady Gaga was spotted leaving the Hotel Kempinksi Zografski in Sofia, Bulgaria, yesterday with her pet pooch.

The singer, who is in town for her concert held at the Armeets Arena this evening, stepped out wearing her second Hermes look in recent days.

This time she donned a fur and leather-trimmed coat from the Fall 2012 collection with Louis Vuitton peep-toes, a Louis Vuitton monogrammed clutch, vintage Moschino earrings and oversized shades.

She took to her Twitter page yesterday to take a swipe at the press following comments made about her pink Giorgio Armani stole saying, “For those press and such who are writing about whether or not my fur is actually real, please don’t forget to credit the designer HERMES. Thank You! LOVE, gaga.”

While I don’t want to start a fur debate, she doesn’t actually confirm if the coat is indeed real, even though it does look undeniably real.

I find this whole thing a tad confusing as she made a claim on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ not too long ago saying she “hates fur”.

Do you see this as another one of Gaga’s publicity stunts, or has she done a Naomi?

Lady Gaga In Hermès – Sofia Airport

Lady Gaga landed in Bulgaria on Saturday afternoon, ahead of her ‘Born This Way Ball’ concert in Sofia on Tuesday.

The singer stunned by wearing a normal (by her standards), Hermès Spring 2012 dress.

She gave this long-sleeve print dress with buckle accented waistband a Gaga twist by wearing a matching Hermès scarf over her face à la Michael Jackson.

Gaga arrived with her cute pooch, who travelled in her monogrammed Louis Vuitton bag.

The rest of her accessories included black gloves and Louis Vuitton peep-toes.
