Poppy Delevigne In Emilia Wickstead - Elle Style Awards 2014

Poppy Delevingne confirmed her status as a trend-setter at the 2014 Elle Style Awards held at London’s One Embankment (February 18) by wearing an Emilia Wickstead Fall 2014 outfit seen only just a few days ago on a London Fashion Week catwalk.

Breaking away from her usually pretty palette, Poppy opted for much more grown-up shade of ochre which was certainly refreshing.

It was also great to see Poppy break away from her usual look and opt for a cropped lace high-necked long sleeve top with mid-length pencil skirt.

While I’m thoroughly enjoying seeing London’s socialite scene experiment with ladylike looks by Emilia, I do however think the skirt looks a little frumpy which is surprising considering Poppy’s super slender frame.

Overall this is a well thought-out look even though slightly unexpected, but I know Poppy has much more to offer. Do you agree?

Laura Whitmore In Warehouse - Elle Style Awards 2014

Joining Rita Ora and Suki Waterhouse, Laura Whitmore attended the 2014 Elle Style Awards in London’s One Embankment.

Bringing a touch of the high street to the glamorous red carpet, Laura chose a white sheer shirt tucked into a metallic purple mini skirt by sponsor of the evening Warehouse.

While I think the skirt is great and taps into the sports luxe and surfer girl trends of the season, I can’t help but think this would be more suited to a launch event rather than an awards ceremony.

I think it’s highly commendable that Laura has opted for high street rather than designer but this just feels a little too casual, especially when compared to the other looks on the red carpet.

For me, the crisp white works well against the metallic skirt but the shoes really let the look down. I really think Laura should have chosen a pair of patent pumps to tie in with the modern, futuristic edge of the look. Do you agree?

Jourdan Dunn In Tom Ford - Elle Style Awards 2014

Jourdan Dunn added a hit of monochrome magic to the 2014 Elle Style Awards’ red carpet at London’s One Embankment (February 18).

Wearing a rather magnificent black and white leather body con Tom Ford Spring 2014 mini dress, Joudan looked every inch the supermodel.

I don’t imagine this dress would look anywhere near as good on anyone other than a super, but on Jourdan it is simply spectacular.

You may remember that Jennifer Lopez wore this same Tom Ford dress to the ‘American Idol’ XIII season premiere event last month – and I think you’ll agree, Jourdan nails it much more strongly.

Jourdan’s super glossy hair and a cool smoky eye ensured her styling was subtly sexy without being too done. Similar to Jennifer’s styling but somehow she just makes it look cooler. What do you think?

Tao Okamoto In Chanel – Elle Style Awards 2014

Never one to disappoint, Tao Okamoto made an elegant appearance on the red carpet of the 2014 Elle Style Awards held at One Embankment in central London (February 18).

Wearing a black coated boucle dress from Chanel’s Resort 2014 collection, Tao brought feminine charm with a hint of modern sophistication to the occasion.

Carrying a Perspex Chanel ‘Lego’ bag and wearing the same pearl earring we saw Lily Allen sport at Chanel’s pre-BAFTA party earlier in the week, Tao’s look is the perfect combination of classic femininity and contemporary cool.

Tao’s flawless complexion was enhanced by an on-trend burgundy lip. The only thing I would change here are the shoes as I really think a sexier pointed pump would have been better than a round-toe platform. Do you agree?

Jessie J In Tom Ford - Elle Style Awards 2014

Making a head-turning appearance, Jessie J attended the 2014 Elle Style Awards at London’s One Embankment (Februaury 18).

Wearing a figure-hugging Tom Ford Spring 2014 fuchsia mini dress with swirling cut-out details and dramatic thigh-high lace-up boots, Jessie made sure all eyes were on her. But for the right reasons? Sadly for Jessie, I think not.

The dress on its own is actually quite stunning and cut with great skill, but the boots are just too dramatic and completely jar with the pretty qualities of the dress.

While I like the velvet clutch, it would be much more suited to a gown rather than sexy body-con number.

To finish, Jessie wore a long black wig and minimal make-up but they did little to save this look.

Suki Waterhouse In Burberry Prorsum - Elle Style Awards 2014

Suki Watercourse rounded off a whirlwind week of big catwalk appearances and parties with boyfriend Bradley Cooper at the Elle Style Awards 2014 at London’s One Embankment this evening (February 18).

This perhaps help to explain why this isn’t one of Suki’s most impressive red carpet looks.

Having wowed in Ralph & Russo earlier in the week, Suki opted for a Burberry Prorsum burgundy blazer over a black floor-length gown.

In fact, Suki has worn this blazer once before, plus Cara Delevingne wore the same blazer this weekend.

While this is an elegant look and I think her hair and make-up are perfectly polished, this just falls a little flat and to me seems to lack effort. But what do you think?
